File Under: Karma Is A Bitch
This story wasn't something I was following very closely but it's end result seemed quite fitting. If you were unaware, radio personality Rush Limbaugh was bidding to be a limited partner with a group seeking to buy the St. Louis Rams. Many of Limbaughs detractors as well as NFL players were dead set against the conservative talk-show host owning any part of any team due to his racially insensitive comments made both on his radio show and during his short stint as a NFL commentator. These comments include the gems “The NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips.” and “The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback to do well,” claiming the media was “soft” on African-American quarter back Donovan McNabb. Well, it turns out that in some cases, what comes around comes around. Yesterday Limbaugh has been dropped from a group seeking to buy the St. Louis Rams. St. Louis Blues chairman Dave Checketts said in a statement that Limbaugh's participation had complicated the effort. In other words Limbaugh's racism took him out of the game before he ever started playing. Rush in typical fashion blamed liberals saying "This is about the ongoing effort by the left in this country". C'est la vie.
