Republicans Hate Polar Bears... No Really!
The United States is trying to dedicate protected Alaskan habitat for endangered Polar Bears. 200,000 square miles of coastline and shallow Arctic Ocean waters are to be designated as critical habitat afforded under the Endangered Species Act. The area will be the largest ever designated for an Endangered Species. I bet you're wondering who would be against saving an endangered species and maintaining a pristine habitat in Alaska? Well it's Sarah Palin's replacement Republican Governor Sean Parnell. Parnell exclaims that "I'm not going to let that happen on my watch." He says he will be fighting the listing itself and the regulations it entails. The state has sued to overturn the listing and filed a brief earlier this week in U.S. District Court in Washington. What a proud moment for Alaska!
