Bachmann "Jokes" About Last Week's Earthquake And Hurricane Irene

Much like Pat Robertson did a few days ago , Michele Bachmann has now said God sent last weeks earthquake as well as Hurricane Irene was sent because god wants us to cut government spending. She did this not once but on two separate occasions before being rightfully called out for her insensitive and ridiculous comments.

I might make a joke here or perhaps mock Bachmann but I'll let her statements do that for me...

Bachmann went on to say she was just being "humorous" with her moronic statements...

Whether or not Bachmann made the statements for effect, implying that God is sending natural disasters to address his displeasure over government debt is irresponsible and thoughtless.

In conclusion I highly doubt any of the relatives of the at least 40 people who died in the hurricane are laughing?

Pat Robertson Claims The Crack In The Washington Monument A Sign From God And The Earthquake Signals The Rapture Is Nigh

On Pat Robertson's comedy show, The 700 Club, he has proved yet again that he can out crazy just about anyone.

Everyone I've spoken to has just about unanimously agreed that Tuesday's 5.8 east coast earthquake was a huge non-event. Pat Robertson on the other hand believes yet again this is a sign from god. ..And once again god is mad at us.

Robertson brings the nutty in the following clip...

The first thing out of Robertson's mouth is: "I don't want to get weird on this" and then he goes and make a liar out of himself immediately!

The crack in the Washington Monument is a result of the earthquake but the crack in Robertson's logic is a result of being a religious whack job.

Cheney Is A Moral Black Hole

Every time this gutless warmonger snakes his misshapen visage back into the public's awareness I become physically ill. The mere sight of him causes me to retch with some kind of Cheney/Bush PTSD.

There is a reason for this...

Dick Cheney is a war criminal. Dick Cheney is an unrepentant war criminal. In his new memoir, which I will not name, he not only owns up to being a war criminal but defends it as well.

In an NBC interview Cheney says he has "no regrets" about the harsh interrogation (Torture) policies the Bush/Cheney administration pursued. When asked if he still embraces waterboarding (Torture), Cheney says, "I would strongly support using it again".

How Cheney has escaped prosecution for his crimes only serves as a testament to how powerful he is and how gutless and ineffectual our criminal system is.

Had any despot or dictator in any other country ordered of these crimes committed on US soldiers does anyone doubt that that their status as war criminal wouldn't be cemented for all time. Does anyone doubt that they would be pursued until brought to justice.

Anti Gay Republican Rep. Phil Hinkle Is Suprisingly Super Gay!

Is that a bullwhip in your hand or are you just happy to see me?

According to reports from The Indianapolis Star, Indiana Republican state lawmaker Rep. Phil Hinkle, offered an 18 year old male prostitute $130 “for a really good time.”

According to emails from the young man’s family the 64-year-old, six-term Republican lawmaker responded to a Craigslist advertisement seeking a “sugga daddy,”

The two then agreed to meet in a motel room to consummate their deal.

Later on while at the motel room the man learned of Hinkle’s status as a state lawmaker and claimed he told Hinkle he wanted to leave, but Hinkle tried to stop him.

That is when Hinkle dropped his towel, exposing himself and grabbed the man’s rear end.

After that the man said, Hinkle offered him his iPad, his BlackBerry and $100 to keep him from speaking with police and media. Hinkle’s family, according to the report, also later offered $10,000 to keep the young man quiet.

To put this into context Phil Hinkle voted this spring for a constitutional ban on gay marriage.... Of course he did.

Hinkle was also the House sponsor of the measure that created Indiana’s “In God We Trust” license plates.

When contacted by a local newspaper, The Star, claimed Hinkle did not deny the allegations but did state that he was “aware of a shakedown taking place”.

Coincidence... I Think Not!

Republican governor and potential presidential candidate Texas Gov. Rick Perry's "The Response" prayer rally was a hit drawing some 30,000 people. The event was only open to evangelicals to the exclusion of all other religions. The rally was promoted as a chance to pray for God to intervene on behalf of "a nation in crisis..." during these tumultuous and turbulent economic times.

Reportedly upon hearing all the evangelical's prayers God immediately dropped the Dow Jones average over 634 points making it the 6th worst point decline in the Stock Market's history. Then the Almighty dropped the NASDAQ 6.66 %. just for the hell of it! The number of the beast is always good for a laugh.

PS - God has asked that all thank you notes be sent to the Tea Party Caucus of the United States House of Representatives and Senate.

Lessons Unlearned By The GOP & The Tea Party

Credit Downgrade Story Update - 5:00 pm 8/7/11:

Here is how it's shaping up. Standards And Poor essentially downgraded us due to our fractious political system and the 'Degree Of Uncertainty' in politics stating that they were "pessimistic about the capacity of Congress and the administration to be able to leverage their agreement this week into a broader fiscal consolidation plan that stabilizes the government's debt dynamics anytime soon."

President Obama in an effort to quell the overblown rhetoric of the last few weeks has issued a statement claiming that S&P essentially downgraded the U.S. on faulty figures calling the move a $2 trillion "basic math error" in calculating future U.S. debt .

Notice Barack Obama never mentioned the Republicans when they, according to S&P, were essentially to blame for this whole debacle.

Care to hazard a guess as to how the Republicans handled the downgrade situation. If you answered that it was to place blame solely at the feet of the Democratic President Obama you would be 100% correct.

Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney issued this statement: “America’s creditworthiness just became the latest casualty in President Obama’s failed record of leadership on the economy,”

Another Republican Presidential candidate John Huntsman had this to say: "Out-of-control spending and a lack of leadership in Washington have resulted in President Obama presiding over the first downgrade of the United States credit rating in our history."

Frothy Presidential candidate Sen. Rick Santorum yammered this: “If this downgrade holds, then it’s another example in a long line of examples of the President’s failure of leadership. Is anyone surprised at this point?"

Tea Party Patriot and resident balloon head Michelle Bachman chimed in with this dandy: “President Obama has destroyed the credit rating of the United States through his failed economic policies and his inability to control government spending by raising the debt ceiling… . President Obama is destroying the foundation of the United States economy one beam at a time.’’

The Republican's reaction to the Downgrade is to me a complete justification of exactly why Standard And Poor claims they downgraded our economy. Thanks again Republicans and your Tea Party patriot brethren.

US Suffers First Downgrade in History

As of 8:19 p.m. Credit rating agency Standard & Poor has downgraded U.S. credit rating from AAA rating to AA+ with a negative outlook.

S&P has said that it's lowering of the rating is a direct effect of the gridlocked Congress and then further clarified that the tumultuous process of raising the debt ceiling contributed to convulsions in financial markets and therefore led to the aforementioned lowering.

As we know the whole issue of the debt ceiling crisis was entirely manufactured and inflicted on us by the the wingnut faction of the Republican party we lovingly refer to as the Tea Party.

First the Stock Market drops over 500 points and now the United States receives it's first downgrade in history. Thank you Tea Party patriots!

Mike Huckabee Is Now A 9/11 Profiteer

For the 10th anniversary of the deadliest terror attack on American soil, the former Baptist Pastor and former Arkansas governor, Mike Huckabee has got a great deal for you! Let me tell ya' about it. Y'see Ol' Mike is marketing a new cartoon DVD on the horror of the 9/11 Terrorist attacks.

In this episode Huckabee wants to teach our kids about 9/11 and why America attacked Afghanistan and then began it's glorious war on terror.

What fun!

Now some will take issue with the accuracy of his cartoon depiction of the deadliest terror attack on American soil in our history. Others would ask if it is appropriate to animate a plane hitting the World Trade Center as an kid asks in a southern drawl "who would do something like this?" Some would even ask if it is appropriate to produce cartoon-version of Osama Bin Laden yelling "death to America" and then how heroically America reacted after being attacked by "Muslim terrorists".

These are all legitimate reasons why some people might have problems with Huckabee's "Learn Our History" series... but my gripe lies elsewhere.

My gripe lies in the fact that Huckabee is making fistfuls of money, of which none goes to charity, on the broken bodies of those who died on 9/11. He may claim that the sole purpose of the video is to educate about that awful day but I'm guessing he already knows that in the decade since 9/11 occurred countless books and movies have already been produced on the subject. I'll bet Huckabee even has read and seen some of these films and knows of their historical accuracy. Yes my gripe comes from the fact that Huckabee went on Pat Robertson's 700 Club to shill his book. My gripe is that Huckabee is doing this on the 10 year anniversary of this awful event in a perverse way to cash in. My gripe comes from Huckabee's product being priced-to-sell at $19.95 plus shipping and handling.

My gripe lies in the fact that this is grave robbing at it's worst.

The Hostage Takers Won

All spending cuts and no new revenue or taxes.

This does nothing for job creation and anyone who tells you differently is a liar. The $917 billion dollars in cuts planned for the next decade would worsen an already stagnant labor market.

Economic historians liken Sunday's deal to Roosevelt's decision in 1937 to try to balance the budget after a robust recovery brought on by New Deal stimulus spending, dropping the United States back into the Great Depression.

The Economic Policy Institute has done the math and the impact of debt ceilings discretionary cuts, no payroll tax holiday and no extension of unemployment insurance will in the end wind up costing us over 1.8 million jobs. Thanks for nothing!

When you break it down to it's simplest form it looks like this... when you spend stimulus money in an effort to create jobs the people with those jobs buy products with their paychecks. The companies that manufacture those products then must hire more workers to keep up with demand. Those workers are not only buying more products but now paying taxes. This in turn cuts cuts the deficit... It so easy it's boggles the mind.

But instead today the Senate passed this joke of a bill and the President signed it into law.

So just who are the winners and who are the losers here?

The Republicans won.

The Tea Party won.

The Democrats lost.

The Progressives lost.

The stock market lost (265 points today and nearly 7% in the last 8 days of trading).

The US Economy lost.

And worst of all the American people lost.

What happens now you ask.... Well, as a reward for all their great work, the Congress goes on a 5 week paid vacation to either gloat at their town hall meetings for holding the American economy hostage or apologize at their town hall meetings for negotiating with hostage takers.

House Passes Debt Limit Deal

The House passed a bill on Monday evening to cut spending by $2.1 trillion and raise the debt ceiling until 2013, just one day before the Aug. 2 deadline by which the government was set to begin defaulting on its loans.

The deal passed mostly on the backs of House Republicans, while certain House Democrats called the bill a "Satan sandwich" and most of the Congressional Progressive Caucus voted against it.

Leadership on both sides insisted that though the deal was not perfect, it made the best of a difficult situation.

The bill does not include revenue-increasing measures, such as tax hikes on the wealthy or closing loopholes for corporations.

In other words the Democrats caved under the pressure and once again negotiated with the terrorists.

Here are a few statements made by some democratic members of Congress...

Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.): "We ceded the whole moral ground on billionaires paying their fair share,".

Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.): When Asked what she thinks of the deal Norton replied, "I don't think. I cry."

Jim Moran (D-Va.): called the bill "terrible" and predicted it would lead to another 1 million private sector jobs lost.

Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.): "It's a bitch."

The bill will be voted on today in the Senate
