Limbaugh Says: Student Denied Spot At Contraception Hearing Is A"Slut" And A "Prostitute"

Rush Limbaugh took to the airwaves today to vomit his views on women and birth control. His hatred of independent and educated women was unleashed on Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown Law student who was denied the right to testify before a Congressional committee in lieu of 5 men. He called Fluke a "slut" and a "prostitute" for wanting employer-provided health insurance to subsidize birth control and then went on to call men who slept with those women "johns" and/or "pimps".

LIMBAUGH: What does it say about the college coed Susan [sic] (you mean Sandra you moron) Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex? What does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex.

She's having so much sex she can't afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex. What does that make us? We're the pimps. The johns, that's right.

Listen to him here if you must...
By the way, contraceptives are a fixed cost that doesn't fluctuate according to how many time per month a woman has sex.

Speaking of whores utilizing health insurance I wonder if there was any kind of insurance plan used when Limbaugh was hospitalized in Hawaii when he experiencing chest pains no doubt brought on by grazing on Viagra for his erectile dysfunction. Jeez, wonder if the Viagra was covered under the same plan?

Santorum Says: Stay Away From College And President Obama Is "A Snob"!

Since when is going to college and getting an education a bad thing? When you want to keep your political base dumb and compliant I'm guessing.

Click the image to watch Santorum insult the President, engage in heavy handed dog whistle politics and say things that make people clap against going to college...
What would make an average American applaud for these things?

Earlier in the speech Santorum mentioned the real reason he doesn't want people to go to college saying: "You know the statistic . . . that 62 percent of kids who enter college with some sort of faith commitment leave without it". So what Santorum is really saying is that when you go to college you come out losing your religion and gaining a massive amount of knowledge... I wonder what the correlation is?

I also find interesting when Santorum said “Oh, I understand why he ( Obama) wants you to go to college. He wants to remake you in his image." I wonder if he means Obama wants you to be the President of the United States... I think that'd be cool.

By the way Santorum graduated from Penn State with a B.A. in 1980, then earned an M.B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1981. In 1986, he earned a J.D. from Penn State’s Dickinson School of Law.

Once Again... Allen West Is An Asshole

Republicans are suddenly up in arms about gas prices. By suddenly I mean right after positive numbers about the economy started to surface. Oh yeah it's also due to the fact that Speaker of the House John Boehner told Republicans to make gas prices an issue over the Presidents' Day recess.

In fine hive mind fashion the Republicans have taken to all available sources of media, both commercial and social, to rant about their outrage.

Allen West, being the giant asshole that he is, found the situation so intolerable that he wrote an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal and then additionally posted it to his Facebook page. The opening paragraph must be read to be believed.

Did you catch the especially ridiculous part of his post? Let me do some cropping...

Let me clarify.....

This should clear up any doubt that Allen West is an asshole...

Allen West is outraged that he can't fill his 2008 H3 Hummer, that gets under 15 miles per gallon, for less than $70 dollars a day. It must feel as though he is being tortured against his will with a gun against his head.

* Do yourself a favor and read the comments posted at the bottom of West's Facebook page before he clears them... Classic.

Santorum's Greatest Hits... So Far

Here are some of little Ricky's bat-shit insane quotes. They would be hilarious if he wasn't actually being seriously considered by Republicans to lead their party. It's getting really weird and a little scary out there on the what used to be the far right!

On Why Barack Obama Is Just Like Hitler:

Remember, the greatest generation for a year and a half sat on the sidelines while Europe was under darkness," We're a hopeful people. We think, 'Well, you know, it'll get better. Yeah, he's a nice guy. I mean, it won't be near as bad as what we think. This will be okay. I mean, yeah, maybe he's not the best guy after a while, after a while you find out some things about this guy over in Europe who's not so good of a guy after all...'" "It'll be harder for this generation to figure it out. There's no cataclysmic event,...

On The Satan In Politics:

This is not a political war at all. This is not a cultural war at all. This is a spiritual war. And the Father of Lies has his sights on what you would think the Father of Lies, Satan, would have his sights on: a good, decent, powerful, influential country: the United States of America.

On Global Warming:

I believe the earth gets warmer and I also believe the earth gets cooler. And I think history points out that it does that and that the idea that man, through the production of CO2 -- which is a trace gas in the atmosphere, and the man-made part of that trace gas is itself a trace gas -- is somehow responsible for climate change is, I think, just patently absurd when you consider all the other factors . . . [Global Warming is] just an excuse for more government control of your life, and I've never been for any scheme or even accepted the junk science behind the whole

Comparing Homosexuality To The War Against Terror.

You can say I’m a hater. But I would argue I’m a lover. I’m a lover of traditional families and of the right of children to have a mother and father. I would argue that the future of America hangs in the balance, because the future of the family hangs in the balance. Isn’t that the ultimate homeland security, standing up and defending marriage?”

On Why Evolution Promotes Atheism:

...what’s taught in our school system as a result of liberal academia, is evolution is an incontrovertible fact. There is no suspicion of it. It is decided science that cannot be questioned. There cannot be any doubts about it. If you have any questions or doubts, it’s trying to inject religion into the science classroom. So it is above reproach.I obviously don’t feel that way. I think there are a lot of problems with the theory of evolution, and do believe that it is used to promote to a worldview that is anti-theist, that is atheist.

On How The Netherlands Murder Their Elderly:

ten percent of all deaths, and half of those people are euthanized involuntarily, because they are old or sick. And so elderly people in the Netherlands don't go into a hospital. They go to other country.

On Oil:

Drill everywhere … There is no such thing as global warming.

On The Impossibility of A Liberal Being A Real Christian

But is there such thing as a sincere liberal Christian, which says that we basically take this document and re-write it ourselves? Is that really Christian? That’s a bigger question for me. And the answer is, no, it’s not. I don’t think there is such a thing. To take what is plainly written and say that I don’t agree with that, therefore, I don’t have to pay attention to it, means you’re not what you say you are. You’re a liberal something, but you’re not a Christian. That’s sort of how I look at it.

On Black People:

I don’t want to make black people’s lives better by giving them somebody else’s money.

On Homosexuality And Gay Marriage :

“If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual [gay] sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything. Does that undermine the fabric of our society? I would argue yes, it does. It all comes from, I would argue, this right to privacy that doesn’t exist in my opinion in the United States Constitution. In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality. That’s not to pick on homosexuality. It’s not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be. It is one thing.

On Contraception:

One of the things I will talk about, that no president has talked about before, is I think the dangers of contraception in this country. It's not okay. It's a license to do things in a sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be. [Sex] is supposed to be within marriage. It's supposed to be for purposes that are yes, conjugal "but also procreative. That's the perfect way that a sexual union should happen "This is special and it needs to be seen as special.

On Prenatal Health Care:

One of the things that you don't know about ObamaCare in one of the mandates is they require free prenatal testing. Why? Because free prenatal testing ends up in more abortions and, therefore, less care that has to be done, because we cull the ranks of the disabled in our society. That too is part of ObamaCare — another hidden message as to what president Obama thinks of those who are less able than the elites who want to govern our country.

On Obama's agenda:

The president's agenda is not about you. It's not about your quality of life. It's not about your job. It's about some phony ideal, some phony theology. Oh, not a theology based on the Bible, a different theology. But no less a theology

On How Obama Will Behead You:

When you marginalize faith in America, when you remove the pillar of God-given rights then what's left is the French Revolution. What's left is a government that gives you rights. What's left are no unalienable rights. What's left is a government that will tell you who you are, what you'll do and when you'll do it. What's left in France became the guillotine.

On Satan:

If you were Satan, who would you attack in this day and age. There is no one else to go after other than the United States . . . . He didn't have much success in the early days. Our foundation was very strong, in fact, is very strong. But over time, that great, acidic quality of time corrodes even the strongest foundations. And Satan has done so by attacking the great institutions of America

Santorum: Obama Policies Not 'Based On Bible'

Here we go again. Yet another attempt in the Republicans ongoing false narrative that President Obama is "foreign" or the "other". This time newly minted GOP front runner, Rick "frothy" Santorum has slighted Obama and his religion or lack thereof.

Today Santorum claimed that Obama's agenda is: "not about you. It's not about your quality of life. It's not about your jobs. It's about some phony ideal. Some phony theology. Oh, not a theology based on the Bible. A different theology,"

First of all I say GOOD! It's called the "separation of church and state" for a reason. Since when are a presidents job policies supposed to be based on the scriptures of the bible!?!?!

Second, this is a very thinly veiled attempt to once again color Obama as a Muslim. After all if he's not basing his policies on the Bible he must be basing them on the... Oh I don't know... KORAN!

If you remember at a campaign event in Florida last month, Santorum declined to correct a voter who called Obama an "avowed Muslim." That Santorum chose not to correct the woman was no mistake. Much like his latest statement it was just another attempt to cloud the minds of the low information, easily swayed Republican voters.

Here is the video from that event...
In dealing with the comments Santorum made today the Obama campaign has responded by saying "This is just the latest low in a Republican primary campaign that has been fueled by distortions, ugliness, pessimism and negativity..."

What The Birth Control Debate Really Means

In regards to the contraception controversy that occurred last week I understand why the Catholic church/Catholics were so bent out of shape over the issue. They felt, rightly or wrongly that it went against their beliefs and they should not be forced to violate their conscience.

In understanding the issue at hand, President Obama came up with a solution that satisfied the majority of the aggrieved parties. In the revised version of this heath care bill religiously affiliated institutions are exempt from paying directly for birth control for their workers, instead making insurance companies responsible... Problem solved!

But I felt uneasy because I saw how jazzed up the GOP was over the issue and like a dog with a bone I knew they weren't likely to give it up easily.

What intrigued me most was that I knew the Republicans would try to keep the story alive but I had no idea how they would do it.

It didn't take long for the Repubs to reveal their plan. In a measure, proposed by Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) the Affordable Care Act would be amended to allow any employer to exclude any health service coverage, no matter how critical or basic, by claiming that it violates their religious or moral convictions. In other words, the new strategy is to demand the exclusion the Catholic church received for birth control extended to all employers-- not just religious employers. Plus it wouldn't be limited to contraception. Any employer could restrict access to any service they claimed they objected to. So if the company you work for wants to deny you your right to to a medical treatment it would be within their legal right to do so under the the grounds they found it objectionable.

Choosing this as a fight is a bad idea for Republicans due to the fact that American men and women of all religions love their health care!

Even when it came to the Catholic dust up it wasn't the birth control that was the issue it was the forcing or a religious entity to do something they don't believe in. I understand this. It would be as if I were forced to say the "under god" part in the pledge of allegiance or alternately if I forced those around me to desist from saying it. Both would be unfair.

Nonetheless the Republicans are really going to try to run with this issue but since the majority of women believe in birth control one must conclude that it is a loser of an issue. Even if you want to go back to the original argument polls revealed that 98% of sexually active Catholic women have used birth control at some point in their lives.

The larger picture to look at here is a good one. If the Republicans have decided this is the strategy to win back the White House it can only mean one thing. That is that their original strategy of hitting the President on the economy is now failing... That can only mean one thing... They don't believe the economy is failing any more and therefore it is no longer a winner of an issue. This is good news all around because it means that the economy is in better shape and more importantly Obama will win reelection if the economy is the issue.

If the republicans want to take this race to a place of cultural wedge issues all we have to do is remember the time tested words of James Carville: It's the economy stupid". in other words... as goes the economy so goes the election of President Obama. The pill debate is a non-issue.

Are You Kidding Me!

A Republican friend of mine just sent me this link to watch named "Are You Kidding Me". I'm pretty sure what to expect from it but as usual I bite.

As usual I'm scared to click the link...

OK, I've clicked it. Now I'm scared to watch it. The guy already looks angry and unpleasant.

Alright here we go.....30 seconds in and he seems relaxed and very reasonable. Fingers crossed.

I spoke too soon. Here we go.

Poor poor man is deluded. His facts are fucked. He's trying to seem "fair and balanced" by including the word Republicans in his tirade but never mentions any GOP'ers except for later in his screed when he mentions John Boehner who he only implores to "show more leadership".

On Jan 31, 2012 The Obama administration demanded legislation to eliminate tax rates permanently on capital gains for investments in small businesses and extend for a year the ability of all businesses to immediately deduct all of the costs of equipment and software purchases. Also a 10 percent tax credit for small businesses that add jobs or raise wages. No word from the Republicans on that yet. Here is a link... Obama Returns Focus To Small-Business Tax Breaks.

The business doesn't get taxed only individual income and only after the first quarter million (I think it may be after the first million now). The Republicans want a flat tax that would lower millionaires taxes and raise them on low and middle income individuals and their families. Here's a link to that... The GOP will raise taxes — on the middle class and working poor.

He says "both parties talk about everybody contributing". I don't think so. Democrats say Warren Buffet should pay the same as his secretary just Like Ronald Reagan did verbatim! All the Republicans see fit to do is scream about "class warfare" & "politics of envy".

Here is Reagan talking about closing tax loopholes for the rich exactly like President Obama has...
I always knew he was a dirty Socialist!

He asks where's the sacrifice of the politicians.. Their taxes would go up as well.

He says "Whether you're a Republican or Democrat" and yet he only sites the Obamas and Nancy Pelosi as being wasteful by taking trips. Where have I heard that before. Go figure?

He claims "Obama hasn't been there". He's been "playing golf, taking trips and doing a thousand things"....? What does that even mean. By the way the talking point now is that he's "the campaigner in chief"... I guess he didn't get the memo.

HELLO... George Soros makes an appearance! He's scary.

So basically just a lot of bitching and moaning but no solutions... Send me a link to this guy's new video when he has a suggestion or two. Until then it's all just Republican talking points regurgitated by an ill informed, angry, white man who obviously brings home more than $250.000.00 dollars a year and doesn't want to give up his Bush tax cuts. Oh yeah... And the President is black.

Retired Justice Sandra Day O'Connor Rips Two Of The GOP Candidates

Speaking at the Alfalfa Club on Saturday retired Justice Sandra Day O'Connor fired off a couple of zingers that one wouldn't expect from her.

The club's sole mission is to give high-powered politicians and business leaders another opportunity to rub elbows and share some laughs. Even though the event is off limits to reporters according to two accounts t was reported that O'Connor made a joke about the Presidential Republican race that drew huge laughs.

According to ESPN's Tony Kornheiser, who was at the the dinner, O'Connor said that of the two leading Republican candidates: "one is a practicing polygamist, and he's not even the Mormon."

I agree... Not too bad!

Senator Janet Howell of Virginia... My Hero

It's not every day you come across a true American hero. Well today I did and her name is Janet Howell. Senator Janet Howell of Virginia to be exact.

You see in Virginia the states legislature is trying to pass a bill that would require women to undergo an ultrasound before having an abortion. Whether you are pro-choice or pro-life one has to admit this a huge over-reach by Virginia's elected government into the reproductive rights of women at a cost to the tax payers. All this just so a group of self righteous government employees can shame a few women.
Cue the hero! Janet Howell thinking this ultrasound business unfair to women decided it was time for action. So what did she do you ask? in direct response she proposed an amendment that would require men to to undergo a digital rectal exam and cardiac stress test before being treated for erectile dysfunction.
In other words a man who wants his Viagra would fist have to be probed where the sun don't shine and then forced to go for a jog... Brilliant!

Whether or not this amendment passed or not is a moot point. It is the fact that Senator Janet Howell, with laser precision, has pointed out the hypocritical over-reach by the right wing hyper religious wing nuts in our government into women's lives... and for that she is my hero.
