Tea Party Darling Who Voted For Drug Testing Food Stamp Recipients Busted In Cocaine Sting

Of all the human characteristics I disdain it is hypocrisy that I loath the most. I find it especially repellent because it mixes two of the most unlikeable characteristics together, lying and hubris, to form one neat package of nastiness.

Here are a few perfect examples of hypocrisy.

Let's say you are a flame throwing bigot who rails against what you claim are the sins of homosexuality all day and all night but secretly you like to give blow jobs to strange men in airport bathrooms during layovers. Then you would be a hypocrite like the closeted, self loathing Larry Craig.

Here is another example.

Let's say you go on and on and on about the evils of a certain persons affair to score political points but then it is discovered that you had an affair on your first wife who was dying of cancer. Then when you married the woman you were having an affair with you cheated on that woman while she was suffering from multiple sclerosis. Then you would be a hypocrite just like the slimy bloated bag of smarminess known as Newt Gingrich.

Now that we have established why I find hypocrites so loathsome let me tell you about the ultra conservative Republican congressman and Tea Party favorite Trey Radel.

Last September freshman congressman Radel, while trying to prove his Tea Party bona fides, voted for an amendment proposed by another Republican Rep. Richard Hudson (R-N.C.) that would give states the power to make food stamp recipients submit to drug tests.

While that is repugnant it is not the problem.

The problem is that just last month Rep. Radel was arrested for possession after buying coke in a sting set up by the DEA. One DEA official said Radel paid $250 for 3.5 grams of cocaine from an undercover dealer in the Dupont Circle area which is where Trey apparently goes to score.

It boggles the mind.

No, this is not Radel's presser
In a hastily called press conference last Tuesday Radel apologized for the cocaine bust. It is interesting to note that while he stood at the podium he never once addressed his drug testing hypocrisy, he never answered questions posed to him about stepping down from his position and then  proceeded to exonerate himself by blaming everything that happened to him on his new found drinking problem saying "I struggle with the disease of alcoholism, and this led to an extremely irresponsible choice,".
2 peas in a pod!
Sounds like someone has been reading Rob Ford's press releases and is trying out his "drunken stupor" defense!.

Apparently there were missed red flags because in an interview with Danielle Ryan on March 11 Radel was asked "What’s your favorite vacation spot outside Florida?" whereupon he answered " Cartagena, Colombia,".

Finally, when addressing congressman Radel's hypocrisy about drug testing food stamp recipients, I believe Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) summed it up best when she said "It’s like, what?”

NO food stamps for you congressman!
