Billboard In Chicago Claims That Assault Rifles Are As American As Apple Pie And Baseball

Have you ever wondered what a "PURE" America run by conservative right wing gun nuts would look like. Have you ever wondered what they would envision as this countries pinnacles of achievement are? Then look no further than this billboard on I-55 in Chicago.

In their "PURE" America amongst the few iconic images you'll have to be aware of in their world is Baseball, Apple Pie and Assault Rifles!!!

In the country they live in firearms are as central to their nation's identity as any other iconic American symbol you can think of.

In the country they live in these devices that were created only to destroy deserve to have a honored place next to symbols such as the American flag, the Jesus fish, the Statue of Liberty, the second amendment (2D), along with the aforementioned baseball and apple pie. The point is made abundantly clear because they are all up there on the billboard as plain as day.

The billboard on I-55 in Chicago is paid for by a company named "Slide Fire" who deal in "Superior Performance Gun Stocks" for assault rifles and is maintained by Lamar Advertising.

To the credit of some anti gun Chicagoans the billboard's images are drawing the ire of a select few including Catholic priest Father Michael Pfleger of St. Sabina's Church on the South Side of Chicago.

Father Pfleger expressed his unhappiness with the sign saying...

"I think there's been this great move to make guns part of the wardrobe of America. And that's not the America I was born in, not the America I want. What's offensive and makes me angry is to connect that with the identity of the very country, the America we live in. No, that's not acceptable and unless we like that it will become part of our identity and we got to stop that."

Perfectly put Father!

The Right Wing's Internet Point Man, Matt Drudge, Lied About Paying "Obamacare" Penalty

Do you smell that. It is the undeniable scent of pure bullshit which means one thing... Matt Drudge must be running his mouth again.

It seems that Matt Drudge, the conservatives go to boy for right wing talking points, is making a big deal about not purchasing health care for his employees at his wingnut website "The Drudge Report". He is instead boasting that he'd rather pay the required penalty for deadbeats as prescribed in the Affordable Care Act. He even made up a cute little bumper sticker name for his brave gesture as you can see in his bold and defiant tweet...

Here's the problem for Matt. The penalty for not buying insurance isn't imposed until this year. This means that it doesn't have to be paid until his taxes for this year are filed... NEXT YEAR!.

All you have to do  is check with the IRS who says: "You will make the payment when you file your 2014 federal income tax return in 2015." So either Drudge is lying or he really stupid and paid a huge penalty a year earlier than he needed to.

In addition, the Obama administration doesn't currently have a mechanism for accepting individual mandate payments, which are separate from income taxes, and the exact penalties have not yet been determined

When Drudge was asked by several legitimate news outlets about his obvious misstatements (lies) he offered no response... Only more tweets....

Again there is a problem. If Drudge was referring to the employer mandate, it only applies to companies with more than 50 employees and Drudge is most definitely a "small company". A final nail in the coffin of Matt's lie is that even if "The Drudge Report" had more than 100 employees they would still be exempt from any penalty until 2016.

Drudge has not responded to any follow-up attempts for comment.

The Most Hateful And Most Hated Man In America Is Dead (PICS)

The Rev. Fred Phelps Sr., founder of the Westboro Baptist Church, has died at the age of 84.

Fred is dead as a doornail according to two of his children although one (excommunicated) family member claimed "Pastor Phelps is doing just fine." Meh?

Fred Phelps is best known for establishing The Westboro Baptist Church hate group in 1955. The "church" was formed around Phelps' belief that any misfortune that befalls any human anywhere on this planet is God's punishment for society's tolerance of homosexuality. His followers carried forward this message while holding signs at said funerals and various public events that read, among other things... "Thank God For Dead Soldiers", "God Hates Fags" "God Hates You" "Thank God For 9/11" "Thank God For Breast Cancer" and of course "Fag Santa".

Here is a very brief history of the dishonorable Rev. Fred.

Phelps earned his law degree from Washburn University in Topeka in 1964. In 1979, the Kansas Supreme Court stripped him of his license to practice in state courts, concluding he'd made false statements in court documents and "showed little regard" for professional ethics. He later agreed to stop practicing in federal court, too.

In his continuing downward fail spiral Phelps ran as a (believe it or not) Democrat during his brief attempt as a Kansas politician. In the contest Phelps finished a distant third in the 1990 gubernatorial primary, and later ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate and Topeka mayor.

It was around this time that Fred started ratcheting up the hate that would eventually garner him infamy and eventual loathing.

In the mid-90's Phelps' "church" started to garner recognition for their outrageous and hate-filled protests that blamed almost everything from the deaths of AIDS victims and U.S. soldiers, on America's tolerance for gay people. While spouting their vehement anti-gay rhetoric the "church" picketed of everything from hate crime victim Matthew Shepard's funeral to American soldier's funerals killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The unexpected outcome of his hateful rallies was that it turned out to help and even further the cause of gay rights by serving as such a provocative symbol of intolerance.

The activities of Phelps' church inspired a federal law and laws in more than 40 states limiting protests and picketing at funerals. He and a daughter were even barred from entering Britain for inciting hatred.

At the end Fred's church boasts only about 100 members, almost all of whom are from his family.
In one of the last interviews Phelps ever gave investigative reporter Joshua Kors asked him about his own death:

Kors: Have you thought about what will happen when you die?

Phelps: (Phelps chuckles) I'm not planning on dying.

Once again Fred was wrong.

Phelps' daughter Margie announced that there will be no funeral and I think we all know why.

Freddie's dead... That's what I said... I just wish I believed in hell.

Here are a few pictures of Westboro Baptist Church members holding up their now infamous hate signs. Please take note of the use of their children in spreading their hate... Ah, family values.

If you get a chance stop by the Westboro Baptist Church site to give them your best and tell them what you thought about Fred. If you were wondering it's at GodHatesFags.com.

Of course it is.

Obama's Appearance On "Between Two Ferns" Brings Out The Hate

As you may have heard by now the episode of Zack Galifianakis' "Between Two Ferns" has been an overwhelming success garnering 17,416,626 views and untold amount of website traffic sent to Heathcare.gov.

But I dare you to guess who thinks it is an unprecedented failure..... Yeah, you know who.

Here are some excerpts and tweeter bombs dropped by the conservative right wing media who either just don't seem to get the joke or are really scared of the success the President has had with his foray into comedy.

––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

At a White House press briefing ABC's Jim Avila asked of Obama's appearance on "Between Two Ferns" "How much discussion was there in the White House about the dignity of the office? Was the presidency in any way damaged?"

––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

On Fox & Friends President Obama's Interview was deemed "Inappropriate" And "Tragic.". Here is the back and forth between Brian Kilmeade and Elisibeth Hasselbeck...

KILMEADE: It is so inappropriate... for the president of the United States to be sitting down for an interview that's a mock-up.

HASSELBECK: Some would argue that it's inappropriate for the president of the United States to be advertising a law, an insurance plan.
KILMEADE: I think it's pretty tragic. Whoever recommended that he do that show should be fired.

––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

While discussing Obama's interview with Galifianakis on Fox's Happening Now they aired a graphic saying the appearance was "no joke"...

Seriously man... NO JOKE!

  ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

The Washington Free Beacon described Galifianakis' interview with President Obama as "just dreadful" and "gross," citing the "utterly unbearable moment" when Obama "hawks the failed social experiment that is Healthcare.gov"...

"The Obama interview, however, was just dreadful. After a few semi-unbearable moments during which the president shows he doesn't at all understand the point of the show--the guest is not supposed to get in good zingers; he's supposed to be taken down a peg--there's an utterly unbearable moment during which he hawks the failed social experiment that is HealthCare.gov. It's just gross.
Nothing screams "brave, edgy comedy!" like "I'm here to let The Man sell you on health insurance!
"

––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

The Daily Caller lamented that Obama's interview with Galifianakis was "going so well" until health care reform was mentioned...

"Turkey pardoning as Obama's biggest accomplishment of 2013? Funny! Saying that Obama is the "last black president?" Hilarious! A birth certificate joke? A classic! But then about 3:23 in, Obama starts plugging Healthcare.gov. AND OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD." It was going so well. It was actually humorous and there didn't seem to be any hidden agenda, but then they had to swoop in there and start trying to get kids these days to sign up for the Affordable Care Act. Come on.

 ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

In an unprecedented folly of ineptitude Fox News complained that President Obama is unwilling to face tough interviewers like Bill O'Reilly........... WHO INTERVIEWED OBAMA 6 WEEKS AGO!

On the March 14 edition of Fox News' Happening Now host Gregg Jarrett claimed that President Obama's "critics are saying, look, the reason he's going for the softball interviews is because he cannot defend the indefensible, which is why he's avoiding anyone who would ask tough questions"  Contributor Judy Miller replied that "Obama doesn't want to take "tough questions" from Fox News White House contributor Ed Henry or O'Reilly," adding, "he doesn't want to face those people."

In case evidence is needed here is a still from the interview between Obama and O'Reilly on February 2.
Anyone at Fox remember this?

 ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

And speak of the devil, you knew he was gonna have to put in his 2 cents about this right? Surprisingly enough O’Reilly doesn’t think President Barack Obama’s appearance on “Between Two Ferns” was funny... At all.  Bill called it “a little bit desperate” and saying "Abraham Lincoln wouldn’t have done it". His exact words were...

The Affordable [Care] Act is dubious to say the least, and using a comedic website to enroll people is a little bit desperate, don’t you think?” And then opined that "All I can tell is you Abe Lincoln would not have done it."

Bill spewed all this with this graphic behind him as to drive the point home to his dullard stacked audience...

 ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

Just to drive the point home here are a few hate tweets in no particular order...

TWEETS OF DISAPPOINTMENT AND REPRIMAND!

It kinda sad when the old folks don't understand the joke. No matter how many times you explain it to them they still don't get it

This Weekend George Zimmerman Was The Star Attraction At A Florida Gun Show (PICS)

With all the fuss about CPAC this repulsive story seems to have slipped through the cracks.

This weekend Trayvon Martin's murderer, George Zimmerman, was the special guest attraction at the New Orlando Gun Show.

At his booth in a rear office of "The Arms Room" gun store Zimmerman and his gal pal Samantha Scheibe signed autographs and shook hands. Zimmerman happily greeted people as he autographed photos of him posing with his dog...

When asked by reporters why he was there Zimmerman replied that he was there to "meet supporters." and that  “Everything’s good," and "We’re having fun."

It was reported that fewer than 20 people showed up to get a free Zimmerman autograph over six hours.

The show took place at the Arms Room gun store in Orlando. It was originally supposed to take place in a larger venue name The Majestic but they backed out after complaints about Zimmerman's appearance.

Mike Piwowarski, one of the gun show organizers said "They told us they canceled for community pressure. They were getting phone calls and backlash, and didn’t want that kind of person there."
This after Piwowarski posted on his shop's Facebook page...

Here are pictures of the event...

All class.

Republicans Hold 50th Vote To Stop Obamacare

I believe with this 50th vote the Republicans are now eligible for a free footlong sub sandwich upon their next Obamacare vote.

Yesterday the House voted  250-160 to enact a one-year delay in the penalty that individuals would have to pay for failing to sign up for the Affordable Care Act. It marks the 50th time Republicans have forced a vote to repeal, halt or fundamentally change the ACA.

Once again they hold the vote and once again the measure stands no chance in the Democratic-led Senate. In addition the White House has promised a veto... Again.

For all it's theatrics the vote proved to be nothing more than an example of the election-year political maneuvering. In reality Republicans remain convinced that public dissatisfaction with the law will cost Democrats in the upcoming 2014 elections which in turn would help the GOP increase its majority in the House and possibly win back the Senate.

Democrats asked once again why the GOP hadn't come up with a viable alternative that would expand coverage and deal with egregious insurance practices and were answered with only silence... Again.

Rep. Henry Waxman, (D-Calif.) was overheard asking "Don't we have anything else to do?" as Rep. Sander Levin of Michigan, the top Democrat on the House Ways and Means Committee, once again reminded the GOP that they had once backed the the individual mandate and that it was of course the foundation of Massachusetts' health care law signed by Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

The facts remain that after a less than perfect rollout of the health care website on Oct. 1, the ACA boasts 4 million people signed for private coverage through the insurance exchanges. The administration has said 9 million people are eligible for Medicaid, a number that includes renewals.

Surprisingly there was one Republican who voted against the measure... unfortunately it was only for political posturing. Rep. Paul Broun, (R-Ga.), who is running for the Senate, claimed that "Once again, we see leadership attempting to fix a disastrous law that simply cannot be fixed. Obamacare is broken beyond the point of repair — and the only true fix is a swift, full, repeal."

Enjoy your footlong Paul (and get a damn letter "w" for your last name already!).

Obamacare Is Putting Money Into Our Pockets And Into America's Economy

Obamacare is making you richer. Believe it.

One of the Republicans mantra's on Obamacare has been that "it will destroy the economy"!!! As it turns out, not so much.

So far The Affordable Care Act passed in 2010 is, believe it or not,  putting money in Americans' wallets!

According to calculations by the Wall Street Journal President Obama's health law was responsible for about three-quarters of a surprising January rise in U.S. consumer spending and American income growth.

This comes out to a 0.4 percent rise in consumer spending ($45.2 billion) and a 0.3 percent rise in personal incomes (up $43.9 billion), according to new figures released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. The growth came in spite of the Republican pushed expiration of unemployment benefits for the long-term unemployed and horrible winter weather. Then add that to the fact that in January both consumer spending and personal incomes had their worst month in years after the battle Republicans put up in Congress over the "fiscal cliff" ended causing payroll taxes to shoot up across the board.

Extraordinary economic growth if you measure in the Republican roadblocks thrown in the ACA's path.

While these numbers may be considered insignificant by some on the right it is a 180 degree turnaround from what they were predicting.

So how exactly did Obamacare cause such a surprise of riches? For one, it expanded the Medicaid program, a critical and highly controversial aspect of the law, which added up to a $19 billion in benefits in January. On top of that, health care enrollees additionally received another near $15 billion in the form of tax credits as a result of the rollout.

Together the two changes put more money into the hands of Americans instead of spending it on health care premiums. The more money put into the hands of Americans mean they will spend it on goods and services. The more goods and services needed will eventually translate into more jobs for American workers. It's simple Keynesian economics.

So in closing...

According to the Tax Policy Center that tax hike resulted in an $700 per worker tax increase on average...

Thank you "economy killing" Obamacare!
