Sarah Palin Once Again Reminds Us Why We Are Lucky That She Is In Charge Of Absolutely Nothing

Last weekend the half governor from Wasilla Alaska spoke at the National Rifle Association's "Stand And Fight" rally at something called the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. At the event the failed GOP vice presidential candidate took to the podium and immediately began bashing President Obama because freedom. Palin started with the usual canned lines about Obama "attacking" the United States' "foundational values and traditions" Plus chiding the President for being soft on terrorism for installing policies that "coddle adversaries."

When Palin was done with her dried up and rote palaver she decided to break out some new material in which she conflates torture and religion as a puchline/applause getter...

"Come on. Enemies, who would utterly annihilate America, they who'd obviously have information on plots, to carry out Jihad. Oh, but you can't offend them, can't make them feel uncomfortable, not even a smidgen. Well, if I were in charge, they would know that waterboarding is how we'd baptize terrorists."

You can see the smug pageant princess in all her smarmy glory here...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tk4dD2L0RTk

Now I know Palin is a troll and will says things just to get her face in the news cycle but their was something overtly grotesque about this waterboarding/baptism line that even a non-religious person like myself felt it cringeworthy. The usage of torture and religion in combination to illicit a rousing round of applause seems especially repellent. The fact that the line got a rousing round of applause is equally as repellent as well.

I am surprised there hasn't been more of a backlash from the religious community when anyone would deem it acceptable to equate torture and baptism.

That being said I have heard about one group of liberal Christian's, named "Faithful America", has started an online petition against Palin insisting that she doesn't speak for them.
On their petition web page they say...

"We're launching a statement to the media, denouncing her remarks and setting the record straight about baptism, torture, and violence."
"For Christians, torture is not a joke or a political punchline, but a ghastly reminder of the suffering of Jesus upon the cross. By equating it with Holy Baptism -- the act by which we are united with Christ in his death and resurrection -- Sarah Palin is blasphemously twisting our faith into a weapon of hatred and violence. No media outlet should cover her remarks without reporting on how sincere Christians of all theological and political persuasions are appalled."

Go to their page. Sign the petition. Send Palin and her ilk a message that this kind of flippant use of torture/religion is not kosher in your book!

Cliven Bundy... Right Wing Hero... Delusional Criminal... Nauseating Racist!

The darling du jour of the right wing these days is a man by the name of Cliven Bundy. Bundy is a 78 year old Nevada rancher who just so happens to be embroiled in a stand off with the federal government's Department of Bureau of Land Management. Y'know the one run by President Barack Obama. So basically that means if you are in a stand off with any part of the federal government you automatically in a stand off with President Obama .... and that ipso facto makes you a right wing hero.

Bundy's dispute with the BLM stems from the fact that he has been illegally grazing his cattle on federal land without paying for it.... FOR 20 YEARS! Now he's upset that just like the rest of us, he is going to have to pay his taxes. The tab for that will run him around $1.1 million in unpaid grazing fees. That amount would make me claim I didn't recognize the federal government as well!

Here's a question: How long do you think it would be before we were locked up for not paying out 1.1 million dollar tax bill?

To nutshell this saga in early April the feds confiscated Bundy's cattle after multiple court orders demanded that he remove his animals from land where his grazing rights had been revoked. The right wing media immediately began sounding the alarm on this horrific case of "governmental overreach"! This in turn caused a multitude of militias to show up fully armed and drooling to shoot it out with anyone who messed with their new hero and /or any of his livestock. The standoff ended when the Feds released the cattle after deciding it would be wise to back off as opposed to getting into a full fledged shootout with the 100's of militia men (which included snipers!)

Here are some Pictures to illustrate the intense stand off...

Armed militia snipers

Here's a question: How long do you think it would be before we were locked up for aiming loaded assault rifles at federal agents from our sniper perch on an overpass?

So victory for the welfare queen cowboy!

It was at this point the story blew up and just about all of the right wing talking heads glommed onto the legend that was American hero Cliven Bundy. They painted a picture of him as being just your average cowboy who stood up for what is right with this country. The little guy stickin' it to the jack booted thugs who's abuse of power is a microcosm of what is happening to all "good" people in Obama's America.

That's when it all went bad.

In an unsolicited commentary Cliven Bundy ruined it all. What is it that he could have said that could have ruined this feel good party. What is it he could have said that could end this right wing love affair? It was in the end what almost always trips up the anointed conservative hero. It was Cliven Bundy's view on ... in his words not mine... "The negro"! (See Duck Dynasty and Ted Nugent)

Well Cliven let's have it then. What is it that you want to tell us "the negro"...

I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro ... because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do? They abort their young children, (How the hell do you abort young children?) they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

Oh boy.... Here is the video...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbnRnhrNFEY

Ok that's bad. That's really bad. But wait... There's more.

In what was supposed to be an apology in which Bundy was to clarify his unbelievably racist comments the welfare cowboy did a damage control press conference in which doubled down on the damage... Here is what he said...

I’m a-wondering, Cliven Bundy is wondering about the black community. Are they better off with their woman aborting their children? Are they better off with their young men in prison? Are they with the older people on the sidewalks in front of their government-issued homes with a few children? Are they better off, are they happier than they was when they was in the South in front of their homes with their chickens, and their gardens, and their children around them. … and their men having something to do?”

I’m not saying that I thought they should be slaves … I’m not even saying they was better off. I’m a-wondering if they were better off?”

Now let me tell you something about what I’ve seen with the Negro community…”  “I see the Negro…”  “They’re not slaves no more. They seem to be slaves to the welfare system.”  “I understand what slavery is all about. … slavery’s about when you take away choices from people.”

And here's the kicker...

"If I call — if I say negro or black boy or slave, I’m not — if those people cannot take those kind of words and not be offended, then Martin Luther King hasn’t got his job done then yet. They should be able to — I should be able to say those things and they shouldn’t offend anybody."

Oh... my... Thing I don't believe in!!!!!

Watch the head on collision here...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osWDdAC3qGk

Predictably, it is at this point that the conservatives, right wingers and Republicans, who held this man up to be their cause celeb, ran away from Bundy like he was radioactive.

The militiamen believe this is a government conspiracy and the Cliven Bundy never said these things. They refuse to leave Bundy's side or the town in which this whole debacle has taken place. They vow not to give up without a fight...

All is quiet for now but I have a feeling that in the coming weeks we shall see this wingnut horrorshow play itself out... Peacefully I hope.

Jim DeMint's Demented Ideas On Slavery

Let's start this post off with a list of big Jim DeMint's conservative bona fides. Jimbo started out serving as a United States Representative for South Carolina's 4th congressional district from 1999 to 2005. From there DeMint set his goals higher and became a powerful South Carolina Senator. After that bad old Barack Obama was elected President in 2008 DeMint became a leading member and very vocal advocate of the Tea Party movement. This was all fine and dandy but Jim wanted more... so he did what any self respecting Senator would have done and resigned. You see DeMint wanted "real" power and control. So after his resignation from the Senate he became the president of a hyper conservative think tank named The Heritage Foundation which was willing to give him the power, money and respect he so richly believed he deserved.

Now as a fiercely conservative Republican and loyal Tea Party advocate you know old Jimmy is gonna' have some strange ideas floating up in that right wing dome of his but this one is just a stunner. You see DeMint has gone and said that he believes that the American government had no role in ending the institution of slavery. According to DeMint slavery ended due to God (i.e. Jesus) and the words of the Constitution. Yes indeed, it was the kindness of Christians and some words the founding father's (who pretty much all owned slaves!) wrote in 1787 that done freed them slaves.

So lets take a look at exactly what DeMint said while on the radio program "Vocal Point with Jerry Newcombe of Truth In Action Ministries"...

"Well the reason that the slaves were eventually freed was the Constitution, it was like the conscience of the American people. Unfortunately there were some court decisions like Dred Scott and others that defined some people as property, but the Constitution kept calling us back to ‘all men are created equal and we have inalienable rights’ in the minds of God. But a lot of the move to free the slaves came from the people, it did not come from the federal government. It came from a growing movement among the people, particularly people of faith, that this was wrong. People like [British abolitionist William Wilberforce] who persisted for years because of his faith and because of his love for people. So no liberal is going to win a debate that big government freed the slaves. In fact, it was Abraham Lincoln, the very first Republican, who took this on as a cause and a lot of it was based on a love in his heart that comes from God."

You can listen to DeMint's dementia here...

Ok, let's begin to sift through this hefty pile of bullshit shall we.

First of all let's look at DeMints assertion that the "federal government" had little to do with ending slavery. If I remember correctly there was a war... A Civil War... fought to free the slaves. You see, going to war with secessionist states to force them to remain a part of the nation and then freeing the slaves by presidential fiat is done only under the auspices of the federal government. Even the Confederate leaders insisted that the Civil War was a “war waged by the Federal Government against the seceding States". I guess DeMint missed that class in grade school history.

Second, The idea that it was the "people of faith" that were the driving force behind slavery's demise is an absolute canard. While I am quite sure many people of faith fought to free the slaves during the Civil War I am equally as sure that just as many fought to keep them enslaved. In fact many of those god fearin' Christians regularly used the Bible to argue for the institution of slavery... Many pointed to the Ten Commandments "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, ... nor his manservant, nor his maidservant." Some pointed to Ephesians 6:5 "slaves, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling" Others quoted Titus 2:9 "tell slaves to be submissive to their masters and to give satisfaction in every respect". So let's just put that whole people of faith bullshit to bed right now. You can read more about this at ushistory.org.

Finally, lets look at the words from the Constitution that DeMint claims called out to the people of the united States to put an end to slavery. I believe Jim said "The Constitution kept calling us back to ‘all men are created equal and we have inalienable rights’ in the minds of God." For those of you who might try looking for these sage and wise words in The Constitution... Don't bother. You see they are in fact from the The Declaration of Independence... Whoops.

Demint is so wrong on this basic subject on so many levels that I find it hard to believe a man who is so ill informed would be tapped to head a premiere conservative/Republican think tank like the Heritage Foundation... Wait a second... I take that back.

Obamas Rumored To Divorce... Nauseating Right Wingers Gleefully Celebrate As Expected

For right wingers it's too good not to be true!
Last week a completely fabricated story about an impending divorce between the President and the first lady was published by the "National Enquirer". Upon it's release right wingers began their unbridled celebration.

I have personally received several downright giddy emails about this story from friends and family who are, as I like to put it, politically challenged, i.e. Republicans. To top that off every single site I have been to that has this story as it's topic has it's comment section flooded with the most vile crap that I wont even bother dignifying by reprinting here. It's racist, it's hateful and it's unbridled.

The way I was alerted to this garbage was through several gloating emails I received. In these emails the subject field is entitled "Queen Michelle Threatens Divorce"... because of course.

The body of the email starts of thusly...

"IN a major behind-the-scenes blowout, President BARACK OBAMA and first lady MICHELLE waged their worst White House fight ever over her lavish vacation trip to China!"

It then goes on to quote an unnamed "Washington, D.C., insider" as saying...

"This was a blowout of epic proportions - probably the nastiest White House fight they've ever had. They were both screaming at one another. The president was infuriated when advisers told him that they'd added up the costs of all their 'vacations' and China was putting them over the $150 million mark. But he's defenseless to stop Michelle be-cause their marriage has collapsed. She's doing what she wants - and that's seeing the world on the American taxpayers' dime."

At the end of the Enquirer story the source is quoted as saying...

"Michelle does whatever she wants and goes wherever she wants. It's as if she's tacked up a map of the world and put pins on all the places she wants to visit. The sad part is that taxpayers are paying for her bucket list."

You can read the whole worthless story here.

Before I go on let me fully disclose that my parents divorced when I was a child and it was utterly devastating. To a child the disintegration of your family is painful, confusing and ultimately throws your life into complete upheaval. That being said this is obviously personal to me.

With that out of the way let's continue...

It's not the lack of a named source that bothers me. It's not the complete lack of evidence of the story's veracity that bothers me. It's not that the story is flat out misogynistic in it's portrayal of Michelle Obama. It's not even that right wingers are mailing around a story they gleaned from of all places "The National Enquirer" and passing it off as fact that bothers me. It that people are actually taking pleasure in the a rumor that the president's family might be breaking up that makes me ill. There are two children (15-year-old Malia and 12 year old Sasha) involved here... Does that not give anyone pause before celebrating the demise of this family. I thought all good Republicans, conservatives and Christians believed in the sanctity of marriage (man on woman marriage only of course)? Aren't good old fashioned "family values" paramount to their conservative Judeo-Christian belief system? I guess this does not apply if it someone you despise so much that you would willing to throw all your values in the shitter just so you can get your rocks off over a fake tabloid story.

It's bullshit and it's ugly. These pathetic wing nuts are literally rooting for someone's family to fall apart. Apparently they enjoy the personal pain President Obama is rumored to be experiencing so much they don't even stop to consider what effect it might have his children. In nauseating fashion they savor every detail about this family's breakup to such a degree that they have to email their friends and family just to tell them just how much they are enjoying it.

It's fucking repellent.

I have no problem with anyone disliking someone else's politics but you don't wish for and/or revel in the failure of a person's private life like a dog rolling in it's own shit. It's an intimate and personal matter and if true it is between the family that has the misfortune to be going through it.

There is no one's politics that I despised more that George W. Bush's but I never once took pleasure in any personal pain he suffered or the struggles any of his family endured.

That would be sick.

The Right's Stephen Colbert Freakout

I'm sure by now you have heard the news of David Letterman's announcement of retirement from CBS' The Late Show. He is almost 70 and has had an amazing career and I like the majority of his viewers lament his leaving. I grew up watching him and despite knowing all things must change his departure still leaves me with a great sadness

I'm also sure by now you have heard the news of Letterman's replacement upon his retirement. It is none other than The Colbert Report's Stephen Colbert. He has had an amazing run starting as a "correspondent" on The Daily Show for 7 years and then with his show for 9. There is no doubt that Colbert has paid his dues and is most deserving of the honor.

What you might not have heard about is the news of the right wing's complete meltdown over the news that Colbert replacing David Letterman on The Late Show.

If you haven't, allow me to hip you to the freak out.

First up we have Rush Limbaugh and one of the finest examples of hyperbole ever perpertrated. In his opinion Colbert's new job is nothing less than a grave political, constitutional, and moral crisis for America.

"CBS has just declared war on the heartland of America. No longer is comedy going to be a covert assault on traditional American values, conservatism. Now it's just wide out in the open. What this hire means is a redefinition of what is funny, and a redefinition of what is comedy. They're blowing up the 11:30 format... they hired a partisan, so-called comedian, to run a comedy show."

Here is the audio of Rush's warning of impending comedic war...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYDGGInfykA

Not to be outdone Bill O'Reilly ramped up the rhetoric in his Talking Points Memo segment naming it "More Destruction In America." In it O'Reilly called Colbert an "ideological fanatic" and a  “deceiver” peddling “shameful” lies that “damage” the country.

Here is O'Reilly's rant On Colbert...

http://video.foxnews.com/v/3446925647001/more-destruction-in-america-/#sp=show-clips

Washington Examiner's Justin Green tweeted:

Breitbart’s Ben Shapiro, who famously wrote that he believes that what Colbert does in character amounts to “conservative blackface” and that it is “racist” against conservatives, wrote:

Breitbart.com's John Nolte :

Conservative radio host Dana Loesch:

American Thinker's Rick Moran wrote

"Colbert against Kimmel is going to be no contest. Without his conservative personae to mock, Colbert is going to be very ordinary. His Comedy Central shtick was already getting stale, IMO, I just don't think he's interesting enough, funny enough, or smart enough to carry an hour long show."

Geoffrey Dickens, the Deputy Research Director at the Media Research Center penned:

"Today CBS officially announced that Comedy Central host Stephen Colbert will be replacing David Letterman when he leaves the Late Show hosting chair in 2015. The move guarantees that Letterman’s legacy of bashing conservatives and Republicans on late night will continue, as the host of The Colbert Report has routinely trashed those on the right side of the political spectrum."

Truth Revolt's Albert Merrick opined that:

"Noted leftist comedian Stephen Colbert will replace David Letterman on CBS's Late Show,The choice of Colbert is sure to be controversial, given the Comedy Central personality's track record of attacking conservatives as sexists and bigots."

One would think the conservatives would be happy that Colbert will be leaving his right wing alter ego behind to host Late Night. He will no longer be able to use his conservative, loudmouth, know nothing character as a means to rake them across the coals.

Personally I don't deny the wing nuts their little hissy fit. Colbert, like most good comedians, is a liberal and a brilliant one at that. He has the ability to decimate those he disagrees with ease. No wonder the right wingers are whining like scared children.

If you need a reminder of just how brilliant a satirist Mr. Colbert is witness his destruction of then President Bush as he sits a mere feet from him at the 2006 White House Correspondents' Dinner...

The Birth Of "Obamacare Truthers"!

You wanted the 7 million I got you the 7 million!
I can remember quite vividly when the Affordable Care Act website opened with a disastrous thud. I can remember quite clearly that the goal of reaching 7 million sign-ups seemed an insurmountable task. I can also remember equally as vivid images of just about every single Fox News anchor/pundit and right wing talking head ridiculing the paltry and anemic sign-up numbers the website garnered in it's opening days. Oh how they laughed. They had charts, graphs, diagrams all the way down to old school dry erase boards emblazoned with the embarrassing stats to mock the roll out of President Obama's signature law. Those were good days for right the wing media and their viewers.

Well, they aren't laughing any more. Now they are livid. Disbelieving. Incredulous. Enraged. They display every anger based reaction except the one they should... contrition. Strange because this would be the normal reaction to having been so wrong.

Now that the Affordable Care Act has reached it's goal of garnering over 7 million people signed up for health care coverage things have changed dramatically when the ACA is discussed on Fox News and other right wing media outlets. Now we have entered the time of the "Obamacare Truthers"!

What seems to have set the hackles of the right wing up so  is President Obama's Rose garden appearance this week where he heralded the fact that 7.1 million people had signed up for coverage under the law. What really sent them around the bend was that Obama had the gall to call for Republicans to end their bid to repeal it saying:

"This law is doing what it's supposed to do. It's working. The debate over repealing this law is over. The Affordable Care Act is here to stay."

These remarks represented a victory lap in the eyes of of the Obama/Obamacare haters... and it could not stand. It must all be lies and it had to be debunked, delegitimized and devalued.

So let's take a look at these "Obamacare Truthers" shall we.

How about we start with Glenn Beck who went absolutely batshit over Obamacare hitting the 7 million enrolled number. After President Obama made celebratory remarks about the numbers. Beck went on a rant where he  called Obama "a full-fledged dictator" without the military uniform, and members of the media "rat bastards" for covering the president's speech. Yelling in his microphone, Beck proceeded to say:

"... everyone in the press — you rat bastards — every single one of you know what he’s saying isn’t true. You know it! You know it!”.  Beck went on to call Obama a "Scociopath" and eventually completely untethered himself from reality as he went on an incoherent rant involving something about the Declaration of Independence saying: "I’m not going to waste. My. Life. I’m going to do what I was born to do! All men were created equal and endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, among these are life, liberty AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS! I have a right to pursue my happiness! I have a right to do what I was born to do, not what they tell me what to do. That’s what that phrase means!

You can watch Beck lose his mind here...

 He's silly.

On Fox News Sunday Senator John Barrasso of Wyoming said of the Affordable Care Act signup numbers that:

I don't think it means anything. They are cooking the books on this. I’ve looked at this 10 different ways. This health care law is unfixable.

Senator Ted Cruz is now claiming that:

"That the number of people without insurance is actually rising"

On his radio show, Sean Hannity claimed that:

"millions of Obamacare applicants appeared out of thin air" and accused the White House of "cooking the books" in his attack on the health care law.

On his show Rush Limbaugh blubbered:

"The Obamacare enrollment numbers are totally faked. They don't know how many people have signed up. They don't know how many people have paid. The only thing they know is that four-out-of-five people that are in the system already are getting subsidies. That's all they know. Yet ever since before the holidays, the media has been bragging and talking about how the website's been fixed and people are signing up and like we got six million people have enrolled. We don't know that because nobody can prove it. The numbers are fake."

Washington Post columnist Ed Rogers notes:

"The official HHS numbers still include duplicate enrollments."

Opinion Writer Marc A. Thiessen penned an op-ed for theWashington Post titled "Making up good news about Obamacare". In it he states:

"The Obama administration is so anxious for some good news about this law that if it doesn’t have any, it just makes some up... ignore the hyped-up numbers touting how many people “sign up” for Obamacare."

Bereitbart.com's  Elizabeth Sheld wrote a piece for the site claiming:

"Some people who have managed to complete the burdensome and glitch-filled process of signing up for Obamacare are learning they are not really enrolled at all.  Experts report that the website appears to function properly, but in the back end of the system is still littered with problems."

On Fox News' The Five, co-hosts Kimberly Guilfoyle and Eric Bolling touted Sen. John Barrasso's (R-WY) claim that the administration is "cooking the books" while mocking the White House claim that 6 million Americans have already enrolled. Guilfoyle asked how the ACA:

"magically they hit the number"

 While Bolling said:

"we don't know how many people have actually signed up, we have to take people's words for it."

Once again on Fox News’s The Five, human septic tank, Jesse Watters made clear just how he felt about President Obama’s statement that 7.1 million Americans had signed up for Obamacare:

I actually think the White House is straight up lying about these numbers. They’re saying 7 million people signed up on the Web site that was broken for the last nine months. . . . The White House has lied about so many things, why wouldn’t they lie about this? They lied about Benghazi. They lied about IRS corruption. They lied about not spying on Americans.”

On The O’Reilly Factor,” Fox News pundit and Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer said:

“And these numbers that they are touting are phony numbers. What you’re getting is them telling you 6 or 7 million have signed up. That’s like saying, anybody who goes on Amazon, orders a nifty stereo set and puts it in the shopping cart has purchased the stereo set.

On “The Kelly File” Fox's White House correspondent Ed Henry said:

Can we believe the 7 million number? Because you’ll remember back in October and November, they were saying, ‘Oh, look, you know, in order to get accurate numbers we have to give you monthly numbers, because they’re just trickling in."

On “On the Record” with Greta Van Susteren, former New Hampshire governor John Sununu predicted:

They have got about two weeks left, two and a half weeks. At the pace they have gotten the last two weeks, they will probably be a little under 4.5 million. So they will be short 2.5 million.”

The “Weekly Standard’s” Stephen Hayes, also on Fox News’s air predicted that:

January is slower than December, and they need to have a huge March. They’re not gonna have it. They are not going to hit their mark.”

This is just a sampling of the vitriol and denial the righties are spewing. The internet is choked with this babble and the fact that they wont accept the truth as an answer I don't see it stopping any time soon.

Here is the main problem for the "Obamacare truthers". They are not taking into account the fact that he enrollment numbers include figures from states, not just the White House. What makes the "cooking the books" claim so much more fatuous is that the most encouraging figures come from states with their own enrollment programs. "Truthers" are ignoring the fact that many people enrolled through state-based exchanges and not the federally-run HealthCare.gov. The eight states with the best records of signing up their eligible citizens in exchange plans (actually seven states and D.C.), all have their own exchanges and websites. Vermont leads the parade at 83% enrolled. California, which leads all states in number of exchange enrollees at more than 1 million, ranks fourth with a 41% outreach rate.

Another fact that blows a hole in the "Truthers" argument is the number of people who have already paid for their health care. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius said during an interview:

What we know from insurance companies…tell us for their initial customers it’s somewhere between 80, 85, some say as high as 90 percent have paid so far,”

Yes, that number is straight from the insurance companies.

So get used to the good news and get used to the pained and angry howling from the right. Since I don't see "Obamacare" going into the fabled right wing "Death Spiral" fantasy I don't see the the "Obamacare Truthers" letting go of their "magical hate think" go any time soon.

The Missing Malaysia Airlines Mystery Solved! OBAMA BLEW IT UP!

The wheels have finally come off the clown car. If this isn't the craziest conspiracy theory about Barack Obama it is certainly clears the top ten by a lot.

While everyone and their uncle has been hypothesising about the missing Malaysian airliner certain members of the right wing nut squad have figured it out for us.

It turns out the plane isn't missing at all. No, instead it had been hijacked, the passengers held and interrogated at a US base at Diego Garcia for top secret information and then both the plane and passengers sent back into the sky only to be blown up... By OUR PRESIDENT!  Dun DUN Dun!

Jim Garrow
One of the lunatics pushing this "theory" is Conservative activist and right-wing conspiracy theorist Jim Garrow, who also claims to be a former CIA agent! Garrow believes that President Obama hijacked and then blew up the missing Malaysia Airlines plane as part of his “jihad” against China.

Garrow took to Facebook and alleged that the US military forced the plane to “land by wire” at a base in Diego Garcia and interrogated the “nerds” aboard the jet who are working “for China designing ‘classified’ leading edge computer/internet control software and are carrying the matching hardware with them on the plane.”

Here is Garrow's Post
So let me get this straight. A fly by wire capable jet goes missing. It is on one course, turns and goes in almost the opposite direction on a heading which would take it to the US base at Diego Garcia. The plane has 20 technology nerds aboard who happen to work for China designing "classified" leading edge computer/internet control software and are carrying the matching hardware with them on the plane. They are heading to Beijing with all the others. We are shown pictures of muslim (sic) looking men as if they are on the plane....setting up the expectation that the plane has been hijacked. Convenient story line so far.

While we are down the rabbit hole this far, lets [sic] go all the way. The jet lands by wire at Diego Garcia, the appropriate hardware and software is offloaded as are the nerds. Interrogation proceeds and all the "secrets" you would want to gain from this "intervention" are gleaned from the assets.

You now load everyone back on board the plane and have it take off headed back to where it was supposed to go and at 35,000 ft altitude it implodes/explodes and the debris field is now found. How they missed it in the beginning is a mystery. But the western mindset is already prepared to believe that all things eastern and "Malaysian/Indonesian/Muslim" are barely able to tie shoelaces let alone search an ocean.

America/Obama gets the information that they want, who cares if a bunch of innocent people have to die (Obama -"I am pretty good at killing people.") and more lies per minute have to fly to cover this huge piece of cow manure over.

Welcome to the world of the Marxist Muslim amateur Obama... Hows that jihad coming along Barry?

While Jim Garrow was spewing his lunacy Fox News guest and regular WorldNetDaily commentator Erik Rush laid out his own conspiracy theory which happened to be suspiciously similar in content.

Erik Rusk
According to Rush’s source, the US took control of the plane, landed it on the Diego Garcia US military base in order to interrogate technicians aboard who wanted to “abscond to China,” and then had everyone on the flight “murdered.”

Here are excerpts from Rush's radio program...

At Diego Garcia, some 20 civilian technical personnel were removed from the aircraft for interrogation. On March 8, Reuters reported that 20 employees of U.S. chipmaker Freescale Semiconductor were passengers on Flight 370, according to a statement from the company. It is said that these employees traveled regularly between company facilities in Tianjin, China, and Kuala Lumpur. It may be presumed that these individuals were the same 20 who were reportedly taken to Diego Garcia for interrogation, although my information holds that the detainees (if you will) were working in their capacities as contractors.

Reports earlier this week that the flight plan deviation was programmed into a computer system on board I am told. The airliner was taken over remotely by US intelligence operatives at the behest of those at the highest levels of our government.

No, there would have to be a great deal more involved than a software package to commandeer an airliner, kidnap technical contractors, and then “disappear” the plane and over 200 passengers (who, sadly, were most likely murdered for the sake of expediency).

So what went wrong? Well, apparently the DOD got wind that these engineers (who, despite operating under the auspices of Freescale and/or other companies, were not American nationals) were on their way to abscond to China with their prototypes (which were in the cargo hold of the 777) and other valuable materials, thereby cutting the US out of the program entirely.

The CIA went into action, in concert with the DOD and Boeing engineers. They commandeered Flight 370 en route, digitally, without the foreknowledge of the pilots or crew, diverting it to Diego Garcia. I imagine that’s where the aircraft made that now-infamous and mysterious turn just northeast of Malaysia.

So essentially, the CIA double-crossed the Chinese before they could double-cross us.

Flight 370’s pilots (one of whom being the pro-Islamist Zaharie Ahmad Shah) may have been afforded the opportunity to continue on to another Muslim country, blend in and take on a new identity, given the sentiments of those in the current administration. In any case, it was the geeks and the goods that the CIA was after, and I’m led to believe that’s what they got.

My understanding is that the foregoing information has been confirmed at the highest levels of our government, though not the current one, if that’s cryptic enough for you.

At least, that’s what my source tells me. And they haven’t been wrong yet.

Here is Rush on his radio show blaming the US for "disappearing" flight 370...

There you have it. A frightening look into a few of the unhinged minds that roam freely on the far fringes of the weird and wild right wing. It frightens me not only that there are people with minds so warped that they could actually conceive such an absurd scenario but instead how many other equally unhinged people latch on to the absurd fantasies that these people disseminate.

Here are a few examples of their lunacy metastasizing itself on other sites, some legitimate even...

The one glaring hole in their conspiracy theory is that while they consider Barack Obama to be a bumbling, ineffectual, feckless, feeble minded, community organizer they also believe that he is fully capable of carrying out this plan that makes Dr. Evil look like a piker by comparison... Go figure.
