Republican Congressman Mo Brooks Declares There Is A "War On Whites"!

To put this post into context Republican Congressman Mo Brooks from Alabama first broke into the public consciousness in 2011 when he was reprimanded by the head of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus as well as two groups of Hispanic Republicans for controversial remarks he made about undocumented immigrants. His remarks about those undocumented immigrants were as follows:

"As your congressman on the House floor, I will do anything short of shooting them,"

With that out of the way let's move to present day where Brooks is back in the spotlight for making another sensationalistic claim. In this go around Brooks is taking it upon himself to warn the American people that that there is an ongoing "war on whites" taking place in the good old U.S. of A. To top it all off not only is their an ongoing war you'll never guess who is perpetuating it... It's the dirty DEMOCRATS!

Brooks made his moronic comments on Laura Ingraham's right wing radio talk show earlier this week. On the program Brooks accused the Democratic Party of saying "that white people hate everyone else" and that it's part of President Barack Obama's strategy of dividing people on the basis of race, sex and class.

The remarks came while Brooks and Ingram discussed immigration legislation passed last week by the House that would result in the increased deportation of the Latin American children who have fled to the US to escape violence and whether the Republican Party risked losing Latino voters due to this legislation. In the course of the ensuing discussion Brooks blurted out this bit of lunacy...

"This is a part of the war on whites that's being launched by the Democratic Party. And the way in which they are launching this war is by claiming that whites hate everybody else. It's a part of the strategy that Barack Obama implemented in 2008, continued it in 2012, where he divides us all on race, on sex, creed, envy, class warfare - all those kinds of things."

The very next day when Brooks was given a chance to explain his incendiary remarks in an interview with USA Today he instead doubled down by saying that Democrats were the ones being incendiary. He continued by explaining that it was instead the Democrats who were hurting their prospects with the "white voters"...

"...The Democrats have a political campaign strategy to divide Americans based on skin pigmentation then they are the ones who are fanning the fires and doing a disservice to our country, not those who try to hold the Democrats accountable for what is a very counterproductive and sinister campaign tactic."

So let me try to wrap my brain around this. Brooks claims that since 2008 the Democrats have been waging a "war on whites" so that when the Republicans drafted the house legislation to deport Latinos in 2014 the six year strategy would all pay off for them. But according to Brooks all the years of planning will go awry and backfire on the Dems by costing them all the "white votes" in the foreseeable future.

Ummm, okay... I think I've got it.

And all this time I thought the victimization narrative of the of the white right wingers was driven by the fear that the changing social structure will eventually lead to them becoming the minority in this country.

My bad.

As a registered Democrat I guess my "War On Whites" mailer got misplaced back in 2008... Or maybe it's because I'm white!!!!! Heeeey! That's not fair!
