The 10 Most Batshit Crazy Republican Reactions To President Obama's Immigration Reform Plan

Please try to remember while reading these unhinged screeds that both Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush both used executive orders to extended "amnesty" to family members who were not covered by the last major overhaul of immigration law in 1986. Also keep in mind that President Obama's immigration reform plan is doing the exact same thing for family member's who were not covered by the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program which was passed in 2012.

Let me start by saying that these are in no particular order as far as batshit craziness. Let the blames begin...

Rep. Mo Brooks of Alabama floated the idea of impeachment proceedings and even prison time...

At some point, you have to evaluate whether the president’s conduct aids or abets, encourages, or entices foreigners to unlawfully cross into the United States of America. That has a five-year in-jail penalty associated with it.”

Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio has already sued Barack Obama on Thursday saying the changes were unconstitutional. Part of Arpaio's complaint filed in a federal court in Washington read...

"(Obama's immigration) programs are unconstitutional abuses of the President's role in our nation's constitutional architecture and exceed the powers of the President within the U.S. Constitution,"

Half Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin shared on her Facebook page that...

"This is the epitome of giving Americans the middle finger. He's placing our nation in great danger."

Palin also said while on Sean Hannity's show that...

"If I were Obama I'd put all 11 million of these folks on boats and send them back to Mexico. The liberal media says it's impossible to deport that many people. But I say we can do it if we have enough ships."

Right Wing Radio Host Rush Limbaugh blubbered...

"The Constitution is gonna cease to exist as we know it.  Do you know that the major broadcast networks are not going to cover this tonight?  Did you know that?  (interruption)  The White House is not annoyed.  The White House did not formally request it.  They don't want a English-speaking audience tonight in mass numbers.  They did not formally request the networks carry the announcement tonight.  This is gonna be on Telemundo, on Univision."

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach stoked fears about ethnic cleansing during his Sunday radio program to a caller who asked, “What happens, if you know your history, when one culture or one race or one religion overwhelms another culture or race?”

What protects us in America from any kind of ethnic cleansing is the rule of law, of course. And the rule of law used to be unassailable, used to be taken for granted in America. And now, of course, we have a president who disregards the law when it suits his interests. So, while I normally would answer that by saying, ‘Steve, of course we have the rule of law, that could never happen in America,’ I wonder what could happen. I still don’t think it’s going to happen in America, but I have to admit, things are strange and they are happening.”

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) said...

The social cost will be profound on the U.S. taxpayer — millions of unskilled, illiterate, foreign nationals coming into the United States who can’t speak the English language. Even though the president says they won’t be able to vote, we all know that many, in all likelihood, will vote. The president has a very single-minded vision. He’s looking at new voters for 2016.... People do vote without being a citizen. It’s a wink and a nod, we all know it’s going to happen."

Tom Coburn Senator (R-OK) layed out this frightening scenario...

"The country's going to go nuts, because they're going to see it as a move outside the authority of the president, and it's going to be a very serious situation. You're going to see — hopefully not — but you could see instances of anarchy. ... You could see violence."

Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) sounded this warning...

President Obama has put the interests of an extreme wing of his party above the interests of American workers. Some have said that the actions he is taking this week equal a declaration of war on Republicans. I believe he is actually declaring war on the American people and our democracy."

Former Governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee whimsically quipped...

"I just returned from a trip to England where I was reminded of why Americans fled the tyranny of King George, now Americans are subjected to the tyrannical actions of 'Emperor Obama' with his wholly unconstitutional executive action on immigration. Our founding fathers created a system of government with checks and balances and the president's repeated actions bypassing Congress are an insult to the American people.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) invoked 1st century BC Roman Senator Cicero’s warning about Catiline, a  who attempt to overthrow the Roman Republic (no, I'm not kidding!)...

When, President Obama, do you mean to cease abusing our patience? How long is that madness of your still to mock us? When is there to be an end to that unbridled audacity of your swaggering about as it does now?”
