Tucker Carlson And His Brother Call De Blasio Spokesperson A “Whiny Little Self-Righteous Bitch", "Spoogeneck" And "LabiaFace"

Tucker Carlson: A Bloated bag of pretentious right wing white privilege and misogyny
When it comes to the pundits, talking heads and prime time regulars on the Fox News roster there is definitely a ranking that runs the gambit from mildly acceptable all the way to rage inducing scum. There are your passable talkers like Sheppard Smith, Brett Baird and even Chris Wallace. Then there are the bomb throwers like Bill O'reily, Megyn Kelly and Sean Hannity. Then we enter into dullard territory with the likes of Steve Ducey, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Eric Bolling and Brian Kilmeade. Last and very least we have the bottom of the barrel bile spewing trolls. This dubious list includes bottom dwellers like Andrea Tanteros, Janene Pirros, Jessie Watters and the ever nauseating lowest position on the jag off totem pole... Tucker Carlson.

Carlson is an especially nasty little puke who mans the co-host couch on the weekend edition of Fox And Friends. Sort of like a Steve Ducey understudy but nastier. He is a special mix of mean, obnoxious, pompous and condescending rolled into a doughy lard complexioned sallow flesh bag. After viewing show segments that include Carlson and his absurdly short arms I always feel the need to bathe my brain in purell. He is loathsome.

To prove my assertion of his character let's take a look at a recent email adventure that occurred a at third rate conservative website named The Daily Caller where Carlson is the editor and chief. It involves Tucker's  brother Buckley Carlson, who occasionally writes for the Daily Caller, a second writer named Peter Fricke, the rags editor Christopher Bedford and New York City mayor Bill de Blasio’s spokesperson, Amy Spitalnick.

It all started when Spitalnick, had reached out through an email to Fricke to ask for a correction on a story that The Caller had run about Mayor de Blasio and his transportation proposal.

Here is Spitalnick's "offending" email...

Peter -
Your story on Mayor de Blasio and the USCM is totally inaccurate. The mayors said $50B in flat funding was not enough, and cited the President’s $80B proposal as one that boosted funding to adequate levels.
The transcript is on

After receiving this apparently offensive email a back and forth between Spitalnick, Fricke and editor Christopher Bedford ensued. After Bedford told Spitalnick that if she “annoyed” him “with another whiny email" he would mute the thread. This prompted Spitalnick to contact Tucker Carlson directly with her complaint.

Here is Carlson's over the top obnoxious reply to Spitalnick...

Dear Amy,
Thanks for your email. You believe our story was inaccurate and have demanded a correction. Totally fair. We are going over the transcript now.

What Bedford complained about was your tone, which, I have to agree, was whiny and annoying, and I say that in the spirit of helpful correction rather than as a criticism. Outside of New York City, adults generally write polite, cheerful emails to one another, even when asking for corrections. Something to keep in mind the next time you communicate with people who don’t live on your island.
Tucker Carlson

As it turns out Tucker CC'ed every involved with the episode ( including his brother Buckley Carlson) to show them what a magnificently rude letter he had composed and sent to Spitalnick.

Here's where it goes off the rails.

Buckley Carlson, who is apparently just as vile as his brother felt the need to commend his sibling on his epic douchebaggery and fired this email back... Unwittingly CC'ing eveyone in the email thread thus sending it right back to Spitalnick...

From: Buckley Carlson

Subject: Re: Correction Needed
Great response. Whiny little self-righteous bitch. “Appalling?”
And with such an ironic name, too…Spitalnick? Ironic because you just know she has extreme dick-fright; no chance has this girl ever had a pearl necklace. Spoogeneck? I don’t think so. More like LabiaFace.

Buckley Carlson

This little correspondence a Daily Caller gives a real insight to both Tucker and Buckley Carlson as well as the staff that works at The Daily caller don't you think?

In an email responding to the blatant misogynistic tone of Buckley Carlson's email, Tucker Carlson stood by his brother's comments saying...

"I just talked to my brother about his response, and he assures me he meant it in the nicest way."

Spitalnick wrote in response

"Sadly, too many women face misogynistic garbage like this far too often,"

As for Fox News they have remained quiet about their weekend host's misogynistic email banter. I guess we should take their silence as consent.

Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson Delivers Sick Sermon About His Fantasy Involving An Atheist Family Getting Raped, Mutilated And Murdered

I have often wondered what delighted right wingers and social conservatives so much about Duck Dynasty's patriarch Phil Robertson. In fact the wingnuts were so enamoured with Robertson that Fox news made him the poster boy for the network last year. I have come to the conclusion that it is the fact that Phil Robertson will say the things they think but do not have the courage to speak. I say this knowing full well that Robertson is a genuine sociopath and therefore doesn't have the decency or conscience to stop the unedited crazy from pouring out of his bearded head.

In any event the duck dad has done it again. This time Robertson gave a unhinged and gruesome fantasy sermon at a $100 a plate prayer breakfast that revealed not only his complete ignorance about atheism but his utter lack of morality as well.

Robertson, who was the keynote speaker at the a Vero Beach Prayer Breakfast in Florida, posited a gruesome scenario in which an atheist family's home is broken into where the wife and two young daughters are raped, the father's genitals are mutilated and ultimately the entire family is murdered.

Here is the lunatic Robertson's rant...

"I'll make a bet with you. Two guys break into an atheist's home. He has a little atheist wife and two little atheist daughters. Two guys break into his home and tie him up in a chair and gag him. And then they take his two daughters in front of him and rape both of them and then shoot them and they take his wife and then decapitate her head off in front of him. And then they can look at him and say, 'Isn't it great that I don’t have to worry about being judged? Isn't it great that there's nothing wrong with this? There's no right or wrong, now is it dude? Then you take a sharp knife and take his manhood and hold it in front of him and say, 'Wouldn't it be something if this [sic] was something wrong with this? But you’re the one who says there is no God, there’s no right, there’s no wrong, so we’re just having fun. We're sick in the head, have a nice day. If it happened to them, they probably would say, 'Something about this just ain't right."

It doesn't get much sicker than that my friends.

Here is the audio available courtesy of

One local news report states that Robertson ugly, hateful and gruesome speech was "well-received."

As you know Robertson has had a history of inflammatory comments such as comparing homosexuality to bestiality and calling AIDS a punishment for immorality.

Indiana Governor Signs Anti-Gay "Religious Freedom" Bill At Closed Ceremony

Hundreds rally yesterday against Gov. Mike Pence & new Indiana discrimination law.
On Thursday Indiana Gov. Mike Pence quietly signed legislation that could legalize discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals. Though the bill has been referred to as "discrimination", "harmful" and "unacceptable" Pence saw fit to usher this bill into law against the wishes of what seems the majority of those ho live in the state.

The bill which is called "The Religious Freedom Restoration Act" would allow any person or corporation (also a person) to cite it's religious beliefs as a defense when sued by a private party. In addition business owners who don't want to serve same-sex couples, for example, would now have legal protections to discriminate.

Opponents of the bill, which include many Indiana business leaders, argue that it could open the door to widespread discrimination which could lead to boycotts, loss of business, thus a loss in revenue to the state.

Pence said in a statement about his signing the bill...

"Today I signed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, because I support the freedom of religion for every Hoosier of every faith. The Constitution of the United States and the Indiana Constitution both provide strong recognition of the freedom of religion but today, many people of faith feel their religious liberty is under attack by government action."

Many believe that because the bill received national condemnation Pence decided to sign it in a ceremony closed to the public and the press. The Indianapolis Star reported that members of the media "were asked to leave even the waiting area of the governor's office."

Pence's signature on the bill came despite concerns from organizers set to hold major events in the state. Here are just a few events that will now avoid and or boycott the state of Indiana due to this  bill...

  • Leaders of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) sent a letter to the governor saying they were reconsidering holding their 6,000-person general assembly in Indianapolis in 2017 because of the legislation."We are particularly distressed at the thought that, should RFRA be signed into law, some of our members and friends might not be welcome in Indiana businesses" they wrote.

  • Marc Benioff, CEO of the tech giant Salesforce, tweeted Thursday that the company would now be avoiding Indiana.

  • Angie's List withdrew an Indianapolis campus expansion project from consideration days before groundbreaking and announced the halt of its headquarters expansion.

  • The Indianapolis-based NCAA, which will hold next week's Final Four of the men's college basketball tournament in Indianapolis, also expressed its misgivings saying said it would reevaluate its commitment to holding events in the state. NCAA's President Mark Emmert said in a press release."The NCAA national office and our members are deeply committed to providing an inclusive environment for all our events,"

  • Organizers of Gen Con, which has been called the largest gaming convention in the country, also threatened to stop holding its event in Indiana if RFRA became law. Adrian Swartout, owner and CEO of Gen Con, said more than 56,000 people attended the convention in Indianapolis last year, pumping more than $50 million into the city.

  • Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, a computing company will also stop sending employees to Indiana despite the fact the business bought a software company in Indiana for $2.5 million last year tweeting "Today we are canceling all programs that require our customers/employees to travel to Indiana to face discrimination.”
  • Yelp issued its own statement calling the religious freedom laws a "terrible precedent that will likely harm the broader economic health of the states where they have been adopted."

  • Max Levchin, the CEO of HVF and a founder of companies such as Slide and PayPal supported the boycot tweeting "What is happening in Indiana is pretty unbelievable. However it’s dressed up, it’s a signal that discrimination is welcome in this state."

  • Eli Lilly and Company, the global drug giant, which employs more than 11,000 workers in the state, called the law “bad for business.” The company is Indiana-based, and unlikely to move, but they released a statement to ThinkProgress that indicated their disappointment in the law.

  • Chief Executive of Apple (arguably the largest company in the world) Tim Cook took to Twitter to condemn the law saying "Apple is open for everyone. We are deeply disappointed in Indiana's new law"

To drive the point home it has come to light that even public officials are boycotting the state.

  • Republican mayor of Indianapolis Greg Ballard spoke out against the bill, saying it sent the "wrong signal" for the state and city.

  • Seattle Mayor Ed Murray, a Democrat, said he would not permit the use of city funds for travel to Indiana.

  • San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee will now prohibit his employees from visiting the Hoosier state on official business and with tax dollars, except when it is deemed essential to public health and safety.
  •  New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) has issued a ban on all non-essential state-sponsored travel to Indiana, citing the "religious freedom" law as the reason behind the ban.
  • Washington Gov. Jay Inslee (D) announced Monday that he would ban state-funded travel to Indiana.

  • Connecticut Gov. Dan Malloy (D) signed an executive order on Monday barring state-funded travel to Indiana because due to the state's new law.

  • Denver Mayor Michael Hancock (D) on Tuesday banned city employees from using public funds for non-essential travel to Indiana, again citing the state's religious freedom law.

To get an understanding of just how wrongheaded this bill is all one has to do is listen to these 3 groups...

Jane Henegar, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana, said in a statement.

"We are deeply disappointed that the governor and state lawmakers have been tone-deaf to the cries of legions of Hoosiers—including businesses, convention leaders, faith communities and more than 10,000 people who signed petitions against the bill—who say they don't want this harmful legislation to impair the reputation of our state and harm our ability to attract the best and brightest to Indiana."

The Human Rights Campaign, which opposed Indiana's RFRA and other similar bills popping up around the country, has argued the potential for discrimination is huge.

"These bills are often incredibly vague and light on details -- usually intentionally. In practice, most of these bills could empower any individual to sue the government to attempt to end enforcement of a non-discrimination law. The evangelical owner of a business providing a secular service can sue claiming that their personal faith empowers them to refuse to hire Jews, divorcees, or LGBT people. A landlord could claim the right to refuse to rent an apartment to a Muslim or a transgender person."

In a statement Thursday, HRC Legal Director Sarah Warbelow said the Indiana General Assembly and Pence have sent a message saying,

"As long as your religion tells you to, it’s ok to discriminate against people despite what the law says. This new law hurts the reputation of Indiana and will have unacceptable implications for LGBT people and other minorities throughout the state."

I think those 3 excerpts sum the situation up rather succinctly.

In light of the backlash against Indiana's "The Religious Freedom Restoration Act" the state of Arkansas is considering a similar bill that would protect individuals and corporations from denying service to members of the LGBT community.

Why does it feel like that when it comes to the issue of discrimination it always seems to be one step forward, two steps back?

This Winter Set A Global Heat Record

Areas in red were warmer-than-average, Areas in blue were cooler-than-average
Federal records confirm that this winter and the first two months of 2015 were the hottest on record globally... EVER! All this even with the U.S. North-East making like the ice ages.

Parts of Russia, Asia, Europe, Australia, Africa, South America and especially the U.S. West were extra warm.

At nearly 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit above 20th century average, last month was the second warmest February on record globally but when combined with January and February temperatures it beat the old meteorological winter record set in 2007.

Just to drive the point home even though the U.S. had a cooler than normal February it still managed to have a warmer than normal winter.

In case anyone was wondering how long a time span this stretches the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration records go back to 1880.
In similarly alarming news U.S. data showed that the Arctic sea ice this year is the smallest in winter since satellite records began in 1979. Scientists agree that this is a sign of long-term climate change.

Missouri's Lieutenant Governor Accuses "Racist" Department Of Justice Is "Staffed With Marxists And Black Radicals"

Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder Who sees "Marxists And Black Radicals" everywhere!
In light of the the fatal shooting of Michael Brown and the Department Of Justice's report on the state of race relations inside Ferguson, Missouri's justice system Republican's have had their hackle's up and are firing back. Most of the push back has come in the form of Fox News' and right wing radio talking points that it is the DOJ itself that is racist (if you can make head's or tails of that logic). Well of course one Republican has taken it just a little too far and methinks he doth protest a little too much.

This overreach has come in the form of Missouri's Republican Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder who has accused Justice Department officials of "fanning the flames of racial division,"!!! Kinder also asserted that the department was.... are you ready... "staffed with Marxists and black radicals"! This guy even doubled down and defended statements he had made a day earlier accusing agency officials of "racism".

Kinder didn't stop at the DOJ and their report either.

After Brown's death, some witnesses said Brown had his hands in the air when he was shot. But the Justice Department report said there were "no credible witness accounts that state that Brown was clearly attempting to surrender when Wilson shot him."

With this in mind let's take a look at an interview on the wacko conservative news outlet Newsmax TV, host Steve Malzberg and Kinder. In the interview Malzberg suggested that the protests that followed Brown's death were in response to a false premise of "Hands up, don't shoot" that he said was promoted by not only Attorney General Eric Holder but President Barack Obama as well!

Well that was all the prompting Kinder needed as he quickly agreed and said Obama and Holder had joined in "incitement of the mob" and "encouraging disorder in Ferguson."

Of course neither Kinder nor Malzberg cited specific comments by Obama or Holder.

The TV show host later asked Kinder: "Is there more racism in the Justice Department than there is in the town of Ferguson in the police department?" Kinder responded...

"There is more racism in the Justice Department than there is in any, yes, than anywhere I see in the St. Louis area. It is the Eric Holder and Obama left and their minions who are obsessed with race while the rest of us are moving on beyond it."

In addition to this lunacy Kinder also told The Associated Press that he stood behind those statements saying that he believed Holder appeared to pick sides soon after Brown's shooting when he met with Brown's family but not Wilson saying...

"The Justice Department has had an interest in fanning the flames of racial divisions since the first day Eric Holder took office. So has this president."

Kinder big finale' came not only with the fact that he had the audacity to attend Brown's funeral but claimed that he frequently "goes into the urban core" and has fared better than many other Republicans in attracting votes in Missouri's predominantly Democratic big cities.

I think those days have all but passed after these statements come to light.
Behind the curve indeed

Employers Added 295,000 Jobs In February And The Unemployment Rate Drops To 5.5 Percent!

More good news people!
The Labor Department released February’s employment figures and lo and behold the report shows that U.S. employers extended their hiring streak!

Here are the highlights from the report...

  • February was the 53rd straight month of employment gains in the U.S.

  • This the 12th straight monthly gain above 200,000.

  • The U.S. unemployment rate fell to 5.5 percent from 5.7 percent.

  • Unemployment is at lowest in point 7 years.

  • The average hourly wage rose just 3 cents to $24.78 an hour.

  • The average hourly pay has now risen just 2 percent over the past 12 months, just ahead of inflation.

  • Over the past 12 months, 3.3 million more Americans have gotten jobs.

  • More jobs and lower gas prices have led many consumers to step up spending which is in turn  boosting the economy, offsetting sluggish economies overseas and giving employers the confidence to hire.

  • At 5.5 percent, the unemployment rate has now reached the top of the range the Federal Reserve has said is consistent with a healthy economy.

  • According to the statistics these latest signs show that the U.S. economy is further strengthening and outpacing other major economies around the world.

  • Many economists estimate that growth will pick up in the current quarter to an annual rate of 2.5 percent to nearly 3 percent.

  • Economists are saying that they remain bullish about hiring despite the slowdown in growth.

  • The fourth quarter's slowdown occurred largely because companies reduced their stockpiles of goods, which translated into lower factory output.

  • The report shows that companies focus more on consumer demand in making hiring decisions, and demand was strong in the October-December quarter. Americans stepped up their spending by the most in four years!

  • The report even showed some good news from last month showing that even though consumers were saving much of the cash they have from cheaper gas, spending in January still rose at a decent pace after adjusting for lower prices.

Chief U.S. economist at High Frequency Economics Jim O'Sullivan said that the jobs figures provide ...

"more evidence that the labor market is recovering rapidly, with employment growth more than strong enough to keep the unemployment rate trending down... (which) makes more acceleration in wages increasingly likely."

Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's Analytics, expects the economy to grow 3 percent this year, which would be first time it's reached that level in a decade which would be fast enough to support hiring of about 250,000 a month.

All in all really good news for the economy and people who need jobs.

Once again please sign your "thank you" letters to the:

United States Department Of Justice Unleashes A Scathing Report On Ferguson, Missouri's Police Department & Justice System

After the shooting death of unarmed 18 year old African American Michael Brown by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri there was an understandable outcry to find out what exactly transpired on that August 9th afternoon in 2014. After the Grand jury appointed to find out what happened in Ferguson, on that fated day refused to return an indictment of the officer that murdered Michael Brown the outcry became deafening.

Under mounting pressure by the community to find answers the United States Department Of Justice launched a probe into the town in light of the accusations of racism and the inability of the Ferguson grand jury to indict officer, Darren Wilson.

What the DOJ uncovered was nothing less than shocking.

In the report, the Justice Department found what it described as a "pattern and practice" of discrimination against African Americans by the Ferguson police department and their municipal courts. The report uncovered systemic racism from the top of the government food chain down. It found that Ferguson's justice system functioned as a money-making enterprise rather than one meant to ensure public safety. Investigators also noted that Ferguson counted on revenues from fines and fees to generate nearly a quarter of its total $13.3 million budget for the 2015 fiscal year. Many residents ended up in jail after missing court dates or failing to pay fines for minor violations... and the majority of those people were black.

To fully understand the scope of the injustices one has to know the racial breakdown of the town of Ferguson. Of the 21,00 people that live in the there 33% are white and 67% are African American. At the time of the Michael Brown shooting the entire Ferguson police force only employed 4 African American officers (7.4 percent).

With this knowledge at hand let's look at some of the injustices the DOJ uncovered:

  • From 2012 to 2014, 85% of people subject to vehicle stops by Ferguson police were African-American.

  • From 2012 to 2014, 90% of those who received citations were black

  • From 2012 to 2014, 93% of people arrested were black.

  • From 2012-2014 black drivers were twice as likely as white drivers to be searched during traffic stops, but 26% less likely to be found in possession of contraband.

  • In 88% of the cases in which Ferguson police officers reported using force, it was against African-Americans

  • Of the 14 times police dogs were used in 2014, 100 percent of the times they were used on African Americans

  • Black drivers in Ferguson were more likely to face excessive force from police, often during unwarranted stops.

  • Blacks are 68 percent less likely than others to have their cases dismissed in municipal court.

  • Arrest warrants were more likely to be issued for blacks than whites

  • It was found that the court uses petty crime charges to pad the city’s budget. As of December 2014, 16,000 out of Ferguson’s 21,000 residents have outstanding warrants for minor violations, including traffic tickets.

  • Over a six-month period in 2014, 95 percent of inmates who spent more than two days in the Ferguson jail were black.

  • Petty offenses disproportionately target black citizens. 95 percent of all “Manner of Walking in Roadway” charges were against blacks.

The investigation also highlighted several racist emails sent by police and court employees noting that the racist emails highlighted the way local police have dehumanized black citizens and suspects during interactions with the community.

The racist emails include...

  • October 2011 that showed a photo of bare-chested dancing women, apparently in Africa, with the caption "Michelle Obama's High School Reunion."

  • A June 2011 email described a man trying to put his dogs on welfare because the canines were "mixed in color, unemployed, lazy, can't speak English and have no ... clue who their Daddies are."

  • One email mocked then-recently elected President Obama, stating he wouldn’t hold the office for long because “what black man holds a steady job for four years.”

  • A second depicted President Obama as a chimpanzee.

  • Another email ridiculed African-American speech patterns.

  • Another email said: “An African-American woman in New Orleans was admitted into the hospital for a pregnancy termination. Two weeks later she received a check for $5,000. She phoned the hospital to ask who it was from. The hospital said, ‘Crimestoppers.’

As of today the firings and resignations in Ferguson stand only at five and are as follows...

  • The Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson has been fired.

  • Mary Ann Twitty, the chief administrator in Ferguson’s much-criticized municipal court system, was fired

  • Capt. Rick Henke and Sgt. William Mudd, resigned.

  • Ferguson municipal judge Ronald J. Brockmeyer, who oversaw the court system, declared his resignation

  • City Manager John Shaw, was let go after the city council voted 7-0 to approve a "mutual separation agreement."

President Obama said of the investigation

"I don't think that is typical of what happens across the country, but it's not an isolated incident... I think there are circumstances in which trust between communities and law enforcement has broken down, and individuals or entire departments may not have the training or the accountability to make sure they are protecting, serving all people, and not just some."

Ferguson is everytown.

GOP Senators Attempt To Sabotage US And Coalition's Talks With Iran... Are They Traitors?

47 Republican senators send an unprecedented letter to the leaders of Iran

For the past several months President Obama and and five other world powers (Britain, France, China, Russia and Germany) have been negotiating with Iran about their Nuclear capabilities. The goal of the talks is to limit Iran’s ability to enrich uranium to the point that it could be used to build a nuclear bomb. If the talks are successful Iran would agree to disable any bomb making abilities which would be verified under the eye of international inspectors for 10 years.

This would not only avoid a war with yet another middle eastern country but would also ensure that Iran would remain free of nuclear weapons for at least a decade... all without a shot being fired.

But now it appears that there is an effort to scuttle the negotiations as 47 Republican senators have sent an open letter to the leaders of Iran about the ongoing negotiations telling them in essence to pull out of the talks. Their reasoning is that any nuclear deal with the Obama administration would not be constitutionally binding because a future president or congress could and, according to them, would take steps to revoke it.

The letter states...

It has come to our attention while observing your nuclear negotiations with our government that you may not fully understand our constitutional system … Anything not approved by Congress is a mere executive agreement. The next president could revoke such an executive agreement with the stroke of a pen and future Congresses could modify the terms of the agreement at any time.”

The goal of sending this unprecedented letter is clear. The Republicans are basically telling Iran that  President Obama does not have the authority to negotiate on behalf of this country. It is meant purely to undermine the President Obama abroad and disrupt the sensitive, ongoing negotiations between the seven world leaders about Iran's nuclear energy — A goal of showing that the president is not actually in charge of foreign policy and that the US cannot be trusted to uphold it's word. A move that would ensure that Iran would have little choice but to walk away from the table. A move that embarrass not only the president but the United States itself... It may even increase the risk of a war.

Freshman Sen. Tom Cotton
Freshman Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), who wrote the controversial letter and convinced 46 of his fellow Senators to sign it has made no secret that he wants the talks to fail saying...

"The end of these negotiations isn't an unintended consequence of congressional action. It is very much an intended consequence.

To put where Senator Cotton's intentions lay into proper context one only has to look at statements he made from January when he compared the international negotiations with Iran to the appeasement of Nazi Germany in the 1930s.
President Obama denounced GOP senators for undermining US foreign policy.

In response to the actions of the 47 Republican Senators President Obama said the following...

"I think it's somewhat ironic to see certain members of Congress making common cause with the hardliners in Iran. It's an unusual coalition."

Additionally, an undeniably furious Vice President Joe Biden, who also serves as president of the Senate, blasted them in a long and angry statement in which he described their actions as...

"The letter sent on March 9th by forty-seven Republican Senators to the Islamic Republic of Iran, expressly designed to undercut a sitting President in the midst of sensitive international negotiations, is beneath the dignity of an institution I revere."

It has also been reported by an Iranian news agency, that Iran’s foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called the GOP's letter a publicity stunt, without legal value saying...

It is very interesting that while negotiations are still in progress and while no agreement has been reached, some political pressure groups are so afraid of even the prospect of an agreement that they resort to unconventional methods, unprecedented in diplomatic history,”

Amazingly, Zarif might have touched on an important issue when he questioned the Republican's methods because they may have in fact have committed what some consider a felony by violating a law called "The Logan Act". This act is a federal law enacted January 30, 1799 by the United States that forbids unauthorized citizens from negotiating with foreign governments. The letter is essentially unconstitutional, unprecedented, therefor possibly a felony. The act of sending this letter is so outrageous and dangerous that even the Republicans' own chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee refused to sign the letter.

There is even a petition asking or charges to be filed against the 47 U.S. Senators in violation of The Logan Act in attempting to undermine a nuclear agreement. You can view/sign the petition here.

Even the Daily News thinks the Senators overstepped their bounds if this blaring headline is to be believed......

'Nuff said.

NEW POLL: Support for Gay Marriage Hits All Time High!!!

A new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll shows that support for gay marriage has risen to an all-time high reinforcing it as one of the fastest-moving changes in social attitudes of this generation.

The survey found that 59% of Americans support allowing same-sex marriage, nearly double the 30% support reported in 2004.

The poll shows that support for gay marriage has grown markedly among Hispanics, women and people who lack college degrees, among other demographic groups.

Surprisingly the study shows that opposition among conservatives has lessened as 35% of conservatives supported gay marriage in March, up from 26% in April, 2013. Still pretty dismal but we'll take it.

Equally as surprisingly 40% of Republicans support gay marriage, up from 27% two years ago.

Support for gay marriage continued to run highest — at 74% – among Democrats and people ages 18-34.

Step by step my friends!

President Obama Full Speech On The 50th Anniversary Of The Selma To Montgomery Marches.

Today President Barack Obama spoke in Selma, Alabama, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of "Bloody Sunday" civil rights march. The president gave the address from the very bridge were peaceful protesters were brutally beaten by police officers when they dared to march in support of voting rights. The widely televised event shocked the conscience of the world and helped usher in the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which forever changed the electorate in the South.

Here is President Obama addressing those in attendence...

GOP Leaders To Skip 50th Anniversary Of The March On Selma (*UPDATED)

Not if you're a Republican!
Today marks the 50th anniversary of the legendary "Bloody Sunday" protest march on Selma.

There were, in fact, three Selma to Montgomery marches (March 7th, 9th & 21) in 1965. All were part of the Selma Voting Rights Movement and led to the passage that year of the Voting Rights Act. In all three marches activists walked the 54-mile highway from Selma to the Alabama state capital of Montgomery. The undertaking was an effort to express the desire of black American citizens right to exercise their constitutional right to vote in defiance of segregationist repression.

During these marches the activists were met with outrageously violent resistance by white officials. This even after the Civil Rights Act of 1964 officially ended segregation

The first and most infamous of the Selma marches took place on March 7, 1965 gained the nickname "Bloody Sunday" after its 600 marchers were attacked at the Edmund Pettus Bridge. It was at this bridge, after leaving Selma, where the marchers were set upon by state troopers and the county posse who attacked them mercilessly with billy clubs and tear gas.

To commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of those who gave their lives to take part in these historic marches hundreds of U.S. lawmakers will be converging on tiny Selma, Alabama to commemorate the 50th anniversary of this momentous civil rights event.

In what can only be described as shocking they will not be joined by one single solitary member of the House Republican leadership! To add insult to injury even Senate Majority Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) will "miss" the event.

So let's break down the numbers here. Of the 54 Republican Senators and the 242 Republican congressmen it has been reported that only 22 House and 0 Senate member are registered to attend the pilgrimage.

Congressional Black Caucus Chairman G.K. Butterfield of North Carolina said of this news...

It is very disappointing that not a single Republican leader sees the value in participating in this 50th commemoration of the signing of the Voting Rights Act. I had hoped that some of the leadership would attend, but apparently none of them will. The Republicans always talk about trying to change their brand and be more appealing to minority folks and be in touch with the interests of African-Americans. This is very disappointing.”

Former CBC Chair Marsha Fudge (D-Ohio) agreed saying...

Not only do they have an opportunity to participate in something that is historic in this country, but certainly they’ve lost an opportunity to show the American people that they care. Their loss.”

Read into what I can only consider an egregious insult what you will.

*UPDATE - Republican Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy agreed to attend the event late last night.

Whew... That was close!

Republican Presidential Hopeful Ben Carson Claims Being Gay Is A Choice... Because Prison!

Yesterday Ben Carson announced that he would be throwing his hat in the ring to run as for the presidency. To celebrate his newly minted campaign Carson took to the airwaves of CNN with Chris Cuomo to start pumping up his conservative bona fides. Sometime during the interview the questions turned to gay rights and Cuomo asked Carson if people "had control over their sexuality" to which he replied...

A lot of people who go into prison straight, and when they come out they’re gay. So did something happen while they were in there? Ask yourself that question.”

Taken by the oddity of the answer Cuomo then asked if Carson thought being gay was a “choice” to witch Carson readily chirped...

Later in the day, after the shit hit the fan, Benny dropped an official mea culpa claiming...

I do not pretend to know how every individual came to their sexual orientation. I regret that my words to express that concept were hurtful and divisive.”

Just to put Dr. Carson theory to bed Helen Eigenberg, professor of criminal justice at the University of Tennessee, who has been studying sexuality and incarceration for about 25 years said of Carson's comments...

"The fundamental assumption of the analogy he's using is insane. I don't know of any research that substantiates the [claim] that men go to prison and come out gay. There's no data to support that claim"

By the way this is not the first time Ben Carson has made ugly and vile comments about homosexuality. In 2013 whilst on Fox News’ Hannity he compared gay marriage to pedophilia and bestiality...

It’s a well-established, fundamental pillar of society and no group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality. It doesn’t matter what they are. They don’t get to change the definition.”

I am continually amazed that such a smart person can be so utterly and completely ignorant!
