Fiorina And The Right Caught Red Handed On Their Planned Parenthood Lies

It all started a few months ago when a rabidly anti-choice group named the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) released a undercover video on planned parenthood and their work in the field of fetal tissue research. Though the heavily edited ambush video was roundly criticized and dismissed the religious right and conservative media picked up on the uncomfortable themes in the piece and ran with it for all it was worth.

However, no one quite ran with it for their own personal, political and monetary gain (i.e. campaign contributions) more than GOP presidential hopeful Carly Fiorina.

It was at the 2nd Republican presidential debate when Fiorina claimed her self imposed mantle of Planned Parenthood slayer when she delivered a scowling screed on the horrors she had personally witnessed in the now infamous video. When her turn to speak on an unrelated matter Fiorina calculatingly spat out what I'm calling her "Fully Formed Fetus" rant in which she attacked the women's health organization. She went on to describe the CMP video with visceral distain and disgust in her voice and on her face. In her "performance" Fiorina scolded…

"As regards Planned Parenthood, anyone who has watched this videotape, I dare Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama to watch these tapes. Watch a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking while someone says we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain."

Chilling, if it were true... But it's not... And she's a liar.

At the time the speech gave Fiorina a boost with her poll numbers as it resonated with the religious right and hardline conservatives. With that she kept the lie in her stump speech and reiterated it, in some form or another, in every interview she gave.

Eventually Fiorina was called on the veracity of her description when it came to light that the scene she describes in the CMP video never actually occurred.

Despite the rebuke from the media, Fox news included, Carly stuck to her lie and doubled and tripled down on the false story.

In fact she even had her PAC cobble together a campaign ad from stock footage and unverified sources that back up her false version of the story.

What the video here… * CAUTION GRAPHIC!

Fiorina's baby snuff video ad

Fiorina perpetrated her vile lie and continued to enjoy the shot to her poll numbers… Until today.

Alexis Fretz and her children

Today a woman named Alexis "Lexi" Fretz, who happens to be pro-life, came forward to tell the truth about the supposed aborted baby harvested "for it's brain". As it turns out the "fully formed fetus" in the video isn’t an aborted fetus at all. It’s actually a stillborn baby prematurely delivered at 19 weeks. The child is Fretz's son named Walter Joshua who she photographed and videoed in order to share the story of her grief on her blog. Fretz also revealed that she did not give permission for the Center for Medical Progress to use Walter’s photo.

Here is a post to her Facebook page

Now that the truth is out and Fiorina's and the rights vile talking point is dashed how will she react? Will she quadruple down or throw a radical anti-choice group CMP under the bus.

Either way one has to ask themselves what kind of vile organization would pimp out a stillborn baby to further it's unjust agenda. Futhermore what kind of a person would latch onto the imagery of a dying child to further her candidacy for the president.

I think we know the answer.

John Boehner Announces His Resignation

Today U.S. House Speaker John Boehner announced that he will resign from Congress in October.

The Ohio Republican, elected to Congress in 1990, has been speaker since January 2011.

A fellow Republican reported that in a closed-door meeting Boehner told fellow lawmakers that he...

just does not want to become the issue. Some people have tried to make him the issue both in Congress and outside.

Boehner announcing his resignation
Later in the day Boehner told reporters that he felt the fight over his leadership waged by Tea Party Republicans would be damaging. He felt an obligation to protect the institution of Congress saying...

It’s become clear to me that this prolonged leadership turmoil would do irreparable harm to the institution. I don’t want my members to have to go through this. I certainly don’t want the institution to go through this.

Boehner then said he was ready to leave politics…

Frankly, I am entirely comfortable doing it…Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah

My oh my what a wonderful day...?

Kim Davis Continues Peddling Homophobia And Hypocrisy In Her Latest Interview

Once again the religious right's media darling and world class attention whore Kim Davis is back on TV making imbecilic statements that boggle the mind.

Davis who has over and over again denied loving couples their lawful right to marry has once again seen fit to cast herself as the victim in this drama of her own creation.

Davis who claims, in her upcoming interview with ABC News, that being called a “Hitler” "hypocrite" or a “homophobe” by her detractors isn't what upsets her but is in fact when someone tells her "God doesn’t love her" or is not "happy" with her that really bothers her.

Hypocrite and homophobe Kim Davis speaking to told ABC News' Paula Faris

Here is Davis expounding on the unspeakable horrors she has had to face since she took it upon herself to break the law by imposing her own personal religious bigotry on everyday American citizens...

I’ve been called ‘Hitler,’ I’ve been called ‘hypocrite,’ I’ve been called a homophobe. I’ve been called things and names that I didn’t even say when I was in the world. Those names don’t hurt me. What probably hurt me the worst is when someone tells me that my God does not love me or that my God is not happy with me, that I am a hypocrite of a Christian,

Heeeeey!?!?!

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that what Davis actions and words impart to homosexuals every fucking day that she denies them their inalienable right to marry and shouts them down as less than? Isn't she in fact telling them that her "God" doesn't love them and is unhappy with them?

Does this woman not see the irony. Does she not understand the mind blowing hypocrisy? Is she so far up her own ass that it is all lost on her?

Watch Davis in all her self righteous, sanctimonious glory in this segment from the interview…

More of this interview with Davis will appear on upcoming episodes of “The View".

17.6 million Americans Got Health Insurance Because Of "Obamacare"

The US national healthcare reform law has extended health insurance coverage to 17.6 million Americans, according to a new government report on Tuesday, up from its previous estimate of 16.4 million.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Sylvia Burwell said in a speech.

"The number of uninsured has decreased because of changes in the law that allowed young people to stay on their parents’ health plans for longer, the expansion of Medicaid in 29 states and the District of Columbia, and the sale of subsidized health insurance to individuals,"

Remember the days when they mocked the website and laughed at the low sign-up numbers…?

Two Down Fifteen To Go: Republican Candidate Scott Walker Quits

The second candidate to barrel roll out of the 2016 GOP presidential clown car is Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker. Walker, who had previously stated about his run that he was "certain this is God’s plan for me", announced his departure from the field this afternoon at a news conference in Madison, Wisconsin.

Walker announcing the end at a presser in Madison, Wisconsin

Walker bowed out with this...

"Today, I believe that I am being called to lead by helping to clear the field in this race so that a positive, conservative message can rise to the top of the field. With this in mind, I will suspend my campaign immediately,"

Much like Rick Perry, who was the first candidate to drop out, Walker took a few parting shots at the Republican field's frontrunner Donald Trump...

"I encourage other Republican presidential candidates to consider doing the same so that the voters can focus on a limited number of candidates who can offer a positive, conservative alternative to the current front-runner. This is fundamentally important to the future of our party, and, more important, the future of the country."

Mee-ow.

This decision came as no surprise to people working in Madison, one of whom described the last several weeks as "agony."

Republican Candidate Ben Carson Says He Would Not Support A "Muslim" As President (VIDEO)

Hot on the heels of Donald Trumps town hall Q&A Muslim mess Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson has now stepped up his anti-Islam game by saying that he would "absolutely" not support a Muslim as President of the United States.

In an interview Sunday with NBC Carson, a devout Christian, said that Islam was incompatible with the Constitution and the values and principles of America.

Here is a partial transcript of the interview between Meet The Press host Chuck Todd and Dr. Carson...

Todd: Should a President's faith matter? Should your faith matter to voters?

Carson: Well, I guess it depends on what that faith is. If it's inconsistent with the values and principles of America, then of course it should matter. But if it fits within the realm of America and consistent with the constitution, no problem.

Todd: So do you believe that Islam is consistent with the constitution?

Carson: No, I don’t, I do not… I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation. I absolutely would not agree with that.

Here is a video of the Meet The Press interview with Chuck Todd…

Just to prove he wasn't a complete Islamophobe Carson did however say he would be more open to voting for a Muslim Congressional candidate claiming that “Congress is a different story,"

A Glimpse Into The Fear, Loathing And Racism Of Donald Trump Supporters

Trump dispensing what can only be described as one his signature vowel movements
Have you ever wanted to take a look into the mind of a Donald Trump supporter? No… Yeah, neither have I.

That being said I look at it like an unpleasant task that must be undertaken that helps to understand ohhh… Let's say… A newly discovered sewer dwelling humanoid-like culture. Revolting but necessary.

Let us begin…

Today at a Trump ego booster / rally in Rochester, New Hampshire the Donald unexpectedly opened the floor to questions. An ill advised venture in hindsight. After all how could he have known that the crowd assembled there this afternoon was chock full of wing-nuts, racists, and conspiracy theory loons.

Then again maybe it should have been obvious to him considering the way he has been campaigning.

Upon handing the mic over to the crowd, I guess as luck would have it, this was the very first question posed to Trump…

"We have a problem in this country. It’s called Muslims. We know our current President is one. You know he’s not even an American…Birth certificate, man! But anyway we have training camps growing, where they want to kill us. That’s my question. When can we get rid of ‘em?"

Here is the video of the question…

Click for video
With this query posited to him Trump cobbled together a word salad of an answer that went like this…

"We’re gonna be looking at a lot of different things. And you know, a lot of people are saying that, and a lot of people are saying that bad things are happening out there. We’re gonna be looking at that and plenty of other things."

After a few more questions Trump was then hit with this man's pressing query…

"I applaud the gentleman who brought up the Muslim training camps here in the USA The FBI knows all about that. When America has also guns pointed at ordinary citizens here one of the Bureau of land management... and agriculture... Now there going into different ranches and shutting' them down … Both regulation… But they seem to be pointing a gun making sure they get their fees. This is our own government putting' us a siege. How can we get in there and stop them."

And in response here is Donny pinching off this logic turd…

"So many things are going to change. Y'know there are regulations… But so many… That's one."

Here is another question from a soft spoken and audibly upset woman…

"Hi, ahh, Mr. Trump I have not a question but I just want you to know... about the nightmares... that I have. ISIS beheading Rochester's young boys... Umm I'm havin' horrible visions of people I know and everyone being loaded up into boxcar, you know, like another holocaust… I just wanted you to know about that."

Trump simply looked around, noted how hot it was and said in a jocular manner…

"Does anyone have a towel?"

Here is a video of the entire event if you feel the need to dive deeper into the abyss that is the ID of the the Trump supporter… If you dare!

WOW! What a show! What a guy!

One Down Sixteen To Go: Republican Candidate Rick Perry Quits

The first candidate to step out of the 2016 GOP presidential clown car is former Texas Gov. Rick Perry. Perry announced his departure from the field this afternoon in a Berkeley, Missouri speech.

Perry announcing the end at the Eagle Forum in St. Louis, Missouri

Perry bowed out with this...
"We have a tremendous field – the best in a generation – so I step aside knowing our party is in good hands, and as long as we listen to the grassroots, the cause of conservatism will be too. I share this news with no regrets. It has been a privilege and an honor to travel this country, to speak with the American people about their hopes and dreams, to see a sense of optimism prevalent despite a season of cynical politics."

While Perry generally praised the remaining field of candidates he did however take the opportunity to throw a few last jabs at the Republican frontrunner Donald Trump by warning the party against...

“falling for the cult of personality,” and nominating “a candidate whose rhetoric speaks louder than his record,” and indulging in “nativist appeals that divide the nation further.

I salute Perry with a hale and hearty "Oops"!

In Memory: The 14th Anniversary Of 9/11

Every year this painful anniversary rolls around and as per usual I post a picture of the Twin Towers memorial lights shining up from the wound that was the site where the beautiful twin towers used to stand in tribute to the people who lost their lives in them. Having grown up an lived in Manhattan my whole life I thought this year I would, in addition, post a few images of how I remember those two monolithic steel and glass wonders looked to me and my fellow New Yorkers.

Here is a 1960's article boasting of what were to be the two tallest buildings in the world.

Here is a picture of a scale model by architect Minoru Yamasaki of the now iconic towers were to look from the 1964 worlds's fair.

Here is a promotional ad taken out in the New York Time circa 1971

Here are a couple of shots of the two towers being built by the structural engineering firm of Worthington, Skilling, Helle & Jackson.

At the time of their completion, the "Twin Towers" — the original 1 World Trade Center, at 1,368 feet and 2 World Trade Center, at 1,362 feet were the tallest buildings in the world.

Here they are in their full glory!

Hell, Even King Kong and Godzilla visited!

They were magnificent...

Trump Mocks Fellow Republican Carly Fiorina's Looks… Unsurprisingly Nothing Happens

One would think "The Donald" would have a finite number of political lives. This however appears to not be the case as his big mouth once again embarked on what would appear to be yet another campaign ending gaffe-gurgitation.

This time Trump, while being interviewed by Rolling Stone magazine, mocked the physical appearance of fellow Republican U.S. presidential candidate Carly Fiorina. The magazine reported that while on his private jet watching television Fiorina appeared on the screen prompting Trump to turn to the associates surrounding him and say

"Look at that face. Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president? I mean, she's a woman, and I'm not s'posedta say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?"

Carly Fiorina, the failed president of consumer products sector at Lucent and CEO Hewlett-Packard, is the only woman running Republicans in a field of 16 men vying for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination.

In response to Trump's remarks Fiorina, in an interview on Fox News' The Kelly File, said

"Well, I think those comments speak for themselves. And all of the many, many, many thousands of voters out there that are helping me climb in the polls, yes, they're very serious. Maybe, just maybe, I'm getting under his skin a little bit because I am climbing in the polls,"

Trump, while also on Fox News, offered this as his excuse…

"Probably I did say something like that about Carly. I'm talking about persona. I'm not talking about look...The fact is I probably did say that about Carly … in a jocular manner, obviously,"

"Persona" Yeah, I'm not buying it either.

At this time Trump, leads all the other Republican candidates in the polls by a large margin. My prediction is this misogynistic slip up, that would end any other contenders run, will not put a dent his standings.

Please Enjoy The Lunatic Bullshittery That Was The Release Of The Homophobic County Clerk Kim Davis!

(L to R) Huckster Mike Huckabee, homophobe Kim Davis and whacko Lawyer Mat Starver
When it comes to show business I think we have all been exposed to enough of Hollywood's bullshit that we have come to expect a large portion of shlock and sleaze mixed in with the Oscar worthy award winners.

Unfortunately I also believe that we have come to expect this from our politics on both sides of the isle.

But what I have witnessed in the "Release Of Kim Davis" is beyond anything I have ever seen.

I have seen poorly planned stagecraft… I have taken in unseemly photo ops... I have been subjected to what is tantamount to carnival barkery… But this took the cake.

From the…

  • Batshit crazy that is Kim Davis
  • Davis' husband Joe's "Lil' Abner"outfit he decided to wear... The freaking HAT!!!!
  • The music cutting off Huckabee in the middle of his dramatic build-up to Davis' release
  • The walking and weeping
  • The pre-staged triumphant double arm raise
  • Davis' onstage breakdown
  • Another Davis onstage breakdown (milking it!)
  • Davis' quick recovering composure leading ito what I am calling the "Just Keep Pressin" speech

It was just too god awful and for the life of me I could not avert my gaze.

Please enjoy, as I have over and over again, the beauty of Kim Davis' release!

"Just keep on pressin'… Or did she say oppressing?

The Unemployment Rate Is Now Lower Than At Any Time During Ronald Reagan's Presidency

Click for larger image

The facts speak for themselves.

Barack Obama has proven to be a more successful president than Ronald Reagan. President Obama brought the country back from a bigger economic crisis, has a lower unemployment rate, and reduced the deficit instead of shattering the finances of the nation like Ronald Reagan did with trickle down economics.

And President Obama achieved all of it in spite of relentless Republican obstruction.

Some naysayers will point to the fact that the labor-force participation rate has fallen since Reagan's day. That is a red herring and due mostly to the aging population. There are a great many more retired people now than their used to be. Plus more people are in colleges as well. The labor-force participation rate of "prime aged" men between the ages of 25 and 55 has been steadily declining for decades, and in the past 10 years the participation rate for prime aged women has fallen slightly as well.

So go tell you Republican friends that Obama is a better president that Reagan ever was and watch their heads explode.

Donald Trump: Word Cloud

Quinnipiac University pollsters asked 1,563 randomly chosen respondents, evenly divided between Republicans and Democrats, what word first came to mind when they thought of the candidates. They then created "word clouds", or images composed of words, from the results.

The most common words associated with Trump were "arrogant", "blowhard", "idiot" and "clown".

The word "winner" clocked in dead last.

Click pic for larger image

When asked for his opinion Trump said that the word cloud was very "low energy" and a "stiff".

Employers Added 173,000 Jobs In May, Unemployment Rate Dropped To 5.1 Percent - - A Seven Year Low!

According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics U.S. employers added U.S. unemployment fell to a seven-year low of 5.1 percent last month.

Despite the decent numbers the report is being called a mixed bag of news because it contains very few clues as to to whether the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates later this month. This uncertainty has added a yet another reason as to why the stock market has been so volatile as of late. another reason  why the this Friday's report was so closely watched was because it is the last snapshot of the job market before the Fed meets in two weeks.

Overall, it painted a picture of an economy growing at a modest but steady pace seven years after the Great Recession.

This is how this months report breaks down...

  • The unemployment rates fall from 5.3 percent in July to its current 5.1 marks it's lowest point since 2008 and is now at a level Fed officials say is consistent with a healthy economy.

  • Employers added a moderate 173,000 jobs in August, the fewest in five months.

  • The department revised previous months' numbers with June moving from 231,000 to 245,000 and July going from 215,000 to 245,000. Average job creation over the past 12 months was at 247,000.

  • Wage gains remained muted though did manage to rise eight cents an hour to $25.09 from July, up 2.2 percent from a year ago.

  • The aforementioned prospect of higher interest rates, which would push up borrowing costs for mortgages and other loans for consumers and businesses, weighed heavy on the stock market causing the Dow Jones industrial average plunging 272 points, or 1.7 percent.

  • Fed officials have been saying the economy appears to be getting strong enough to tolerate the first increase in interest rates in a decade. They have signaled that they might raise rates at their Sept. 16-17 meeting.

  • It is a good sign that America's economy remains robust despite China's stumbling economy that caused violent swings in the world's financial markets

  • Despite the already good numbers August's jobs totals are typically revised much higher in later months, because of the difficulties in adjusting the data for the end of millions of summer jobs.

  • Consumer spending has been healthy and has been powering job growth at retailers, restaurants and hotels.

  • State and local governments added 31,000 jobs in August, while health care and social assistance led the way with 56,000 new workers. Financial activities added 19,000, while professional and business services contributed 33,000.

  • Manufacturing companies have been stumbling amid the global headwinds cutting 17,000 jobs in August, the most since July 2013.

Here are some of the views of economic annalists about this months jobs numbers.

Carl Tannenbaum, chief economist at Northern Trust and a former Fed official said...

"We're well on our way to full employment if we aren't already there"

Scott Clemons, chief investment strategist at Brown Brothers Harriman posited...

"This just continues the trend that we've seen where all sectors of employment continue to improve modestly."

Megan Greene, chief economist at John Hancock Asset Management. said…

"Anyone hoping today's data would clear up the timing of the Fed's first rate hike in years will be sorely disappointed,"

Chris Williamson, chief economist at the financial information firm Markit, said Friday's report provided...

"frustratingly little new insight into whether the Fed will start to raise rates."

How A Hateful Homophobic County Clerk Become The Rights New Hero / Martyr

Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis' mugshot
Social conservatives and the religious right have found a new cause celeb to rally behind in the form of a hateful Rowan County clerk from Kentucky named Kim Davis. In recent weeks Davis has made herself a martyr amongst the right wingers of America by denying same sex couples marriage licenses due to her mistaken belief that her god has told her to do so.

Davis' denial of marriage certificates flies in the face of an April 28, 2015 Supreme Court ruling that made same sex marriage legal in all 50 states. The Obergefell v. Hodges ruling overturned bans on same sex-marriage across the country and required states to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples as well as recognize same-sex marriages performed elsewhere.

In other words marriage equality is the law of the land.

If you think this woman was locked up on day one of her antics you would be wrong. She was given plenty of leeway. First she was ordered by the governor to do her job, but she refused. Then she was ordered by a federal judge to do her job, but she refused. This week, the Supreme Court rejected her appeal of the federal judge’s decision, which should have been the final word on the matter, but still she refused to the job she was elected by the people of Kentucky to do. And so now, finally, she has been hauled before a judge and held in contempt of court.

Thus the embattled Rowan County Clerk has been ordered into the custody of U.S. Marshals by U.S. District Court Judge David Bunning for repeatedly violating the law .

But instead of scorn for her criminal acts coupled with her homophobic views about the horror that is "marriage equality" and her bigoted denial of marriage licenses to loving same sex couples the right has, of course, made her a beloved heroic figure and thrust her into the klieg lights so that they may adore her.

First to jump on the Davis' anti gay bandwagon was...

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and GOP presidential candidate, who has called Davis to offer his support, repeated his talking point about the “criminalization of Christianity” and announced plans to travel to Kentucky to support her legal battle.

Then Huckabee started a petition demanding President Obama “free Kim Davis”:

Dear President Obama, Attorney General Lynch, & Judge Bunning:
Immediately release Kim Davis from federal custody. Exercising Religious Liberty should never be a crime in America. This is a direct attack on our God-given, constitutional rights.
Sincerely,
Mike Huckabee

Then it was…

Texas Sen. and Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz's to release this breathless statement on his presidential website following the arrest of Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis...

Today, judicial lawlessness crossed into judicial tyranny. Today, for the first time ever, the government arrested a Christian woman for living according to her faith. This is wrong. This is not America. I stand with Kim Davis. Unequivocally. I stand with every American that the Obama Administration is trying to force to choose between honoring his or her faith or complying with a lawless court opinion. Cruz finished his lamentations by saying: I call upon every Believer, every Constitutionalist, every lover of liberty to stand with Kim Davis. Stop the persecution now.”

Next was…

Louisiana Gov. and GOP presidential candidate Bobby Jindal, who has tried to turn phony claims about Christian persecution in America into a major campaign theme.

While Jindal has made a point of rallying against the (non-existent) imposition of Islamic religious law in Western Europe, the Republican leader hailed clerk Kim Davis for citing her personal beliefs on biblical law and God’s judgment as a reason to flout U.S. law on marriage, telling the Huffington Post:

"I don't think anyone should have to choose between following their conscience and religious beliefs and giving up their job and facing financial sanctions. I think it's wrong to force Christian individuals or business owners. We are seeing government today discriminate against whether it's clerks, florists, musicians or others. I think that's wrong. I think you should be able to keep your job and follow your conscience," he said. "I absolutely do believe people have a First Amendment right, a constitutional right. I don't think the court can take that away."

Next in line was

Kentucky Sen. and Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul, who despite all appearances to the contrary is still running for president, has an opinion on Kim Davis, the Kentucky clerk who is refusing to do the job she was elected to do and defying the Supreme Court. Paul says this flouting of the rule of U.S. law is "part of the American way," and then gets all erudite with his own, convoluted interpretation of how law works.

"I think people who do stand up and are making a stand to say that they believe in something is an important part of the American way,"

Let's send in the clowns now with…

Iowa Rep. Steve King (R) took things to the next level by suggesting Saturday that Davis should receive a “Rosa Parks Award.”

Then it was time for the right wing media to glom onto this hate-train.

Let's start the homophobe conga line with

Todd Starnes, a Fox News pundit, continued to defend her, warning that “these are very dangerous days for America” who tweeted…

Then it was

Erick Erickson, the RedState.com founder, who thought it would be wise to bandy about such words as "civil war"

Then we have

Bryan Fischer, American Family Radio host, spent the first hour of his radio broadcast today voicing his outrage declaring that

"this is a pivotal point in American history" and asserting that Davis will "wind up being the person on which American history turns," and that this is proof that "every advance of the homosexual agenda comes at the expense of religious liberty," Fischer also proclaimed that every GOP presidential candidate must now be "pushed to the wall, backed into a corner" and forced to state a position on the controversy because this issue is now "the dividing line in the GOP nomination campaign."

Crawling out of the woodwork we have

Tony Perkins, the Family Research Council President, released the following statement...

Today we are witnessing what the four dissenting Supreme Court Justices warned of in the Obergefell decision: religious liberty in America is in grave danger. The time to protect and accommodate religious liberty is now,”

Then we have

The Liberty Counsel, which predicted that President Obama will impose “forced homosexuality” upon the nation, has urged Davis to flout the law and defy the courts claiming that the Supreme Court’s landmark Obergefell decision is illegitimate and can be ignored. In addition Liberty Counsel filed a lawsuit for Davis against the governor of Kentucky claiming that Davis cannot act...

...in contradiction to the moral law of God, natural law, or her sincerely held religious beliefs and convictions” or it would be a violation of her oath. They then added that the enforcement of the marriage equality ruling is inherently unconstitutional as it “creates a religious (or anti-religious) test for holding office — which the United States and Kentucky Constitutions expressly forbid.”

On a final note, after Davis was held in contempt of court and locked up for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples five of her six deputy clerks told a judge they would begin issuing the licenses as the law requires. The lone dissenter was Davis’s son, also a deputy clerk.
