Believe it or not the Fox News Channel was lucky enough to snag yet another Republican presidential debate. I know, How do they do it!!!! Despite the absence of one Mr. Donald J. Trump, who was boycotting the event due to his having sand in his vagina, it was still unwatchable. As this was the case we have found some clips of the event that have been edited down to tolerable size for human consumption.

Once again... Enjoy?

U.S. Shootings Since 1963 Have Killed More Americans Than All Our Wars Combined

The Virginia Center for Public Safety, a gun control advocacy group, has asserted that since President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963, more Americans have been killed by gunfire in this country than have died in all U.S. wars.

Gun nuts of course found their claim to be outrageous so the fact checking organization PolitiFact decided to run the numbers with the latest data available. Here’s how the numbers checked out…

WARS

The most comprehensive list found on U.S. war dead was compiled in January 2015 by the Congressional Research Service (Library of Congress). Their list included casualties from the Revolutionary War through our present military actions Operation Inherent Resolve, which is targeting the Islamic State militant group in Iraq and Syria.

The number of U.S. dead in all those conflicts came to almost 1.2 million, according to the research service.

The site added this qualifier though: Research service says that during the Civil War, the nation’s deadliest conflict, Union and Confederate losses combined were 525,000 to 530,000. But a 2012 study by a Binghamton University historian estimated the combined toll was much higher -- about 750,000.

So for the sake of argument the site used the higher Civil War death tally which brought the total U.S. deaths in military conflicts to an inflated 1.4 million.

US WARS = 1.4 MILLION

GUNS

The firearm fatality stats were compiled from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention which provides a series of hard figures and estimates of yearly gunfire deaths in the U.S. from 1968 to 2014. They added up to about 1.5 million fatalities.

The Virginia Center for Public Safety’s claim on gun deaths goes back to 1963 but the site couldn’t find figures going back to that far since the oldest year for data available was 1968.

That being the case the site concluded that the figure of 1.5 million deaths since 1968 was surely an underestimate of the Virginia Center for Public Safety’s gun deaths claim going back to 1963.

The site then crunched the numbers and concluded that the actual number probably is closer to 1.6 million.

*A key thing to know about these figures is that they include not just murders but suicides, homicides, accidents, legal interventions and undetermined causes. Some might argue that this lessens the impact of the claim but keep in mind the war death toll also used causes of death other than guns as well so it more than equals out.

GUNS = 1.6 Million

THE FINAL TALLY

So in conclusion at least two hundred thousand more Americans have died from gunfire within their own country in the last half-century than died in all the wars the U.S. has ever fought.

Terrified Trump Drops Out Of Fox News Debate Rather Than Face Megyn Kelly!

This picture has no bearing on the story except that it made me laugh.
It is official. Donald J. Trump has bowed out of next Thursdays Fox News' Republican debate. His reason for bowing out is that they refused to remove Megyn Kelly from the moderators table whom he claims is biased against him. The claim of bias stems from Kelly's pointed questions on Trump's sexist Twitter posts she clubbed him with way back in the first Fox News Republican debate in August.

With the debate edging ever closer Trump began the war of words when he fired off a tweet saying that Ms. Kelly had a “conflict of interest” and “should not be allowed to be the moderator of the next debate.”

Trump then went on to CNN the following day continued the attack when he proceeded to regale Wolf Blitzer about his feud with Kelly saying...

I don’t like her. She doesn’t treat me fairly. I’m not a big fan of hers at all,

Fox having had enough of the evil circus peanut trashing their star anchor responded by saying that Trump's refusal to debate his rivals was “near unprecedentedand that...

Sooner or later Donald Trump, even if he’s president, is going to have to learn that he doesn’t get to pick the journalists — we’re very surprised he’s willing to show that much fear about being questioned by Megyn Kelly.

Even big daddy Roger Ailes, the chairman and chief executive of Fox News, personally weighed in, saying in a statement that...

Megyn Kelly is an excellent journalist and the entire network stands behind her — she will absolutely be on the debate stage on Thursday night.

An actual untouched picture of Trump's campaign manager Corey Lewandowski

Trump being as thin skinned as a naked mole rat then upped the ante' by sending one of his attack dogs, campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, to actually bully/threaten Kelly! This bit of ill will was aired by Fox in a statement released to Politico on Tuesday night in which the conservative news network revealed a weekend call from the aforementioned Lewandowski...

In a call on Saturday with a Fox News executive, Lewandowski stated that Megyn had a ‘rough couple of days after that last debate’ and he ‘would hate to have her go through that again.’ Lewandowski was warned not to level any more threats, but he continued to do so. We can’t give in to terrorizations toward any of our employees.

Fox then, for good measure, went on a snark attack and fired off this little gem in a statement given to the news site Mediaite...

We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president — a nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings.

Ouchie!

It seems that Trump, who has the mental make-up of a cranky toddler had finally reached his breaking point. Blaming Ailes and Fox News for the “wiseguy” press release, Trump responded in the presser Tuesday saying unironically that “it’s time that somebody plays grownup”

LOLZ!

Mr. Trump said at a news conference, where he still continues to attack Megyn Kelly...

Let’s see how much money Fox is going to make on the debate without me,” Trump then added, “I said bye-bye.”

Oh what drama. Oh what ratings. Oh what a charade.

The Democratic Presidential Town Hall (VIDEOS)

Last night the three democratic presidential hopefuls, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Martin O'Malley, attended a "town hall" hosted by the Iowa Democratic Party and Drake University. It aired on CNN and was moderated by Chris Cuomo.

As it was not a debate each contender took the stage separately allowing viewers to draw sharp contrasts between the candidates and how they would govern if elected. As each took questions from the audience the style and substance of their campaigns quickly became apparent.

Here are some of the more substantive moments from all three candidates in the order in which they took the stage... Sanders, O'Malley and then Clinton...

2015 Was The Hottest Year On Record! (GRAPHICS & VIDEO)

Global Temperature anomaly map as provided by NASA GISS.
2015 was the hottest year ever since we have started keeping records.

Scientists confirmed that average global temperatures in 2015 were the highest in 136 years.

New data from NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration now declare that 2015 was the planet's hottest year on record marking the first time in history that average land and sea surface temperatures surged 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit (one full degree Celsius) beyond those of the 19th century.

The research once again emphasized that rising greenhouse gas emissions are responsible for record temperatures, independent of weather cycles such as the current warming trend in the central Pacific.

For those that believe this record was an outlier ten of 2015’s monthly global temperatures either tied or broke existing records as shown by this chart care of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAAand the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI)...

What’s more worrisome is that the majority of the warming has happened over the past 35 years, and 15 of the 16 hottest years on record have occurred since 2001, according to NASA.

For a troubling overview of the global effects of climate change here is another chart from NOAA and NCEI

Gavin Schmidt

Gavin Schmidt, Director of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, explained that the record shattering heat is a direct result of excess carbon dioxide created by deforestation and burning fossil fuels for energy which in turn causes heat to be trapped in our atmosphere.

Schmidt says…

The trend over time is why we’re having a record warm year. There is no indication that that trend has slowed, paused, or ‘hiatused’ in the past few decades.
What we’re going to see are more and clearer impacts as the climate warms. We’re on a trajectory that, because the carbon cycle is very out of balance right now, can’t be turned around easily.

Schmidt underscored that while climate change can’t be linked to every extreme weather event, it has been firmly linked to severe heat waves, loss of Arctic sea ice, rising sea levels, and the melting of glaciers around the world. “We’ll expect that to continue into 2016,” he said, “as global warming continues.

Thomas R. Karl
Thomas R. Karl, the director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Centers for Environmental Information explained that the globe’s combined average ocean and land surface temperatures in 2015 were 1.62 degrees Fahrenheit above the 20th-century average and a quarter of a degree Fahrenheit warmer than in 2014.

Karl finished by adding that 2015 had been the largest year-on-year increase in record-breaking global temperatures.

Now that a particularly strong El NiƱo-based warming– trend is under way, Schmidt and Karl said, scientists believe it could combine with 2015’s high sea surface temperatures to make 2016 another record-breaking hot year.

If that happens, it will be the first time in the 136-year record that three record-breaking hot years have occurred in a row.

In order to combat the catastrophic trend of global warming climate researchers have suggested that an 80 percent cut in carbon emissions between now and 2050 could stabilize the climate. But as of today there’s no evidence that the world as a whole, let alone America, has the will or want to make that happen.

In case all this information wasn't scary enough here is a video illustrating Earth’s long-term warming trend, showing temperature changes from 1880 to 2015...

Sarah Palin Blames Her Drunk Son Punching His Girlfriend In The Face On President Obama... Because Of Course!

Grizzly mama bears no responsibility for her cubs drunken and violent indiscretions!
Yesterday failed vice presidential nominee and half governor Sarah Palin threw her endorsement behind Republican presidential candidate Donald J. Trump. The only thing more batshittingly insane than her speech yesterday was what happened the night before.

On the eve of her big comeback, where Sarah Palin was to go and publicly endorse The Donald, it has come to light that her son not only punched his girlfriend in the face but also held a gun to his head and shouted "do you think I’m a pussy?” and “do you think I won’t do it?” all while in a drunken rage.

Now one might say that her son's behavior as well as the way Palin packed up and left to give her endorsement speech mere hours after her son's arrest might disqualify her from running for the title of Mother Of The Year.

But not so fast!

That would only hold true if Sarah Palin was to blame for the actions of the child she raised. In fact, according to her, she bears no responsibility at all for her boy's behavior.

Yeah, you guessed it. IT'S OBAMA'S FAULT!!! Thanks Obama!

The day after her initial address Palin was flown to Tulsa, Oklahoma (Yes, she still didn't go home) to give another "Stump For Trump" speech where she explained exactly how her son's actions are the fault of one Mr. Barack Hussein Obama!

First Palin suggested that Obama has deserted and disrespected all our American veterans but then, in classic Palin gibberish, explained why her son is a drunken, suicidal, woman beater...

"My son, like so many others, they come back a bit different, they come back hardened, they come back wondering if there is that respect for what it is that their fellow soldiers and airmen and every other member of the military so sacrificially have given to the country. And that starts from the top, and it’s a shame that our military personnel even have to wonder if they have to question if they’re respected anymore. It starts from the top. The question, though, that comes from our own president, where they have to look at him and wonder, ‘Do you know what we go through? Do you know what we’re trying to do to secure America and to secure the freedoms that have been bequeathed us?’"

I'm sure all the veterans with PTSD will appreciate being lumped in with Palin's violent, drunk, suicidal son.

* A quick note on Track Palin's brave military service... Rumor has it that after Track was accused of cutting the brake lines of a school bus in Wasilla, stealing a bottle of vodka from a liquor store and going on a vandalism spree barely avoided jail by enlisting in the U.S. Army.

Oh yeah, then there's also the pesky fact that Track Palin served his one year in the army as a reservist under George W. Bush!!!!!!!

You can watch the assessing of guilt of her sons "woundedness" here...

On a final note It was also reported that during Palin’s run for vice president in 2008 Track was addicted to drugs (needles, pills and cocaine).

4 Of The Right Wing's Favorite "Iran Nuclear Deal Talking Points" Debunked!

Ever since the right wingers got wind of the Iran nuclear deal agreement back in July of last year they have been soiling their trousers and screaming bloody murder. This even though the talks began more than four years before their "hearing" about it. But who’s really been paying attention to Iran and their nuclear ambitions anyway, amaright?

There are four main screaming points I have heard from the right over and over and over again. They bring them up in an attempt to prove President Obama’s weak leadership and terrible negotiating skills. It is a drum they have beaten about President Obama's policies since he took office. But let's just stick to this subject for now.

These are, in no particular order, the list of grievances:

1) The Iran nuclear deal proves that President Obama is a weak leader and terrible negotiator!

2) How could Obama have agreed to give Iran a nuclear weapon?!?!

3) President Obama is just handing them 1.5 billion dollars!

4) Why didn’t President Obama get our four prisoners back in the deal?

Let’s debunk these in order.

1) The Iran nuclear deal negotiations were held with 5 world powers other than the US. They included the U.S.A., Britain, France, Russia, China, Germany and of course Iran. The image of a weak Obama giving away the store in a terrible deal with Iran is a canard the right wing likes to foster. It fits the false narrative I mentioned earlier.

2) Nobody gave Iran a nuclear weapon. The talks were intended to keep nuclear weaponry out of Iran’s possession... Which it has. Just yesterday Iran surrendered it's enriched uranium as was agreed to in the treaty, which leads us to number 3...

3) No one gave Iran any money least of all America or it's tax paying citizens. The monies they will receive were theirs to begin with. It was being withheld from Iran through economic sanctions levied on them by the six aformentioned nations until they surrendered their nuclear arsenal… Which they have! So they get their money back.

4) As for our prisoners, after months of top-secret negotiations, President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry got not 4, but 5 Americans released yesterday(!) through a swap with Iran. The released prisoners were Washington Post correspondent Jason Rezaian, pastor Saeed Abedini, Nosratollah Khosrawi-Roodsari, marine veteran Amir Hekmati and apart from the deal Matthew Trevithick. For their return we gave back seven Iranians (Six of the seven have dual Iranian-American citizenship) all of whom were being held on sanctions charges. The seven prisoners in the exchange were “whittled down” to exclude any whose crimes related to violence or terrorism. In addition they have the option of staying in the US.

So there you have it. Every one of the conservative wig-nut talking points concerning the Iran nuclear accord debunked. I am sure once this information trickles down to whacko right wingers they will cease and desist with their hyperventilating hyperbolic rhetoric... immediately.

Just kidding don’t ya’ know!

Congressman Mo Brooks: Obama "The Most Racially-Divisive President" Since The Civil War

Old Mo never met a statement to dumb to utter!

Congressman Mo “War On Whites” Brooks  from Alabama is up to his ol’ shenanigans again! But what could that little rascal have said this time?!?! Was it about “President Obama's skin pigmentation”?  How about “President Obama’s Muslim schooling”?

Nope! Mo has something fresh and steamy straight out of his addled racist brain to share with his constituency!

Ya’ see Mo believes that Barack Obama, this countries first black president, is “the most racially-divisive president” of the United States since the Civil War.

Whilst setting a spell on Dale Jackson’s radio Show old Mo put it like this…

There probably has not been a more racially-divisive, economic-divisive, president in the White House since we had presidents who supported slavery,”

When Jackson asked Brooks to clarify his imbecilic claim Brooks offered this optimistic take…

We did have presidents in the first 80 to 100 years of our country that supported slavery. You cannot say Barack Obama was worse than them.

Well that was magnanimous of him.

Give Mo a listen here…

Might I suggest Mr. Brooks do a little light reading on some of our less than progressive post civil War presidents including the likes of Andrew Johnson who was not only a slave owner but also vetoed the Civil Rights Act of 1866… There's plenty more Racist Modern Presidents but I don’t want to include any spoilers for Mo!
