Eight Down Nine To Go: Republican Candidate "Ayn" Rand Paul Quits

Like rats off a sinking ship!

We have an eighth man down in the Republican presidential sweepstakes making it the first time two GOP candidates have bitten the big one in one day! The latest casualty is none other than the Senator from Kentucky and professional offspring of former U.S. Representative Ron Paul of Texas.

The libertarian-minded freshman senator decided to call it quits after finishing a disappointing fifth place in Monday's Iowa caucuses, registering just 4.5% of the vote.

Paul sent out a statement confirming the decision to drop out of the Republican presidential primary saying...
"It's been an incredible honor to run a principled campaign for the White House. Today, I will end where I began, ready and willing to fight for the cause of Liberty."

As if more were needed he also posted this video on Twitter...

Now Paul can focus on what was really important to him… his Senate reelection bid in Kentucky.

Ahh, priorities!
