George Will, is probably one of the most respected voices in the conservative movement. He has won a Pulitzer Prize for his conservative commentary on politics. In 1986, The Wall Street Journal called him "perhaps the most powerful journalist in America," In addition Will writes for the Washington Post and is a Fox New contributor.
Now those are some serious right wing bona fides!
But when this staunchly conservative icon was faced with the prospect of Donald Trump as the GOP’s presidential nominee in November Will decided that he had no choice but to kick his beloved Republican Party to the curb.
In a speech at the conservative Federalist Society Will boldly stated that “This is not my party,”
In an interview after the speech Will acknowledged that it was a “little too late” for the Republican Party to replace Trump but had a final message for his old political parties voters...
“Make sure he loses”
Will has since stated that he had changed his voter registration earlier this this month from Republican to “unaffiliated” in the state of Maryland.
