Among other various insults aimed at his Democratic opponent Trump ran with a photo meme entitled “Most Corrupt Candidate Ever!” that had a little something extra in it for his "special" followers.
The Donald, who has never been known to be subtle, can however be wily when blowing racist or bigoted dog whistles.
Unfortunately for Trump he blew this whistle a little too loud.
You see Trump's new anti-Hillary ad is literally just a pile of money overlaid with Clinton's face, a star of David and the words “Most Corrupt Candidate Ever!”…. Hmm, is anyone wondering what the message here could be?
Here is the offending ad...
|Could have gone with the five pointed star but he just couldn't let it go.|
Journalists quickly pointed out that the combination of a backdrop of money and a Star of David was obviously anti-Semitic.
Trump immediately deleted the photo.
Less than two hours after the original graphic was tweeted, Trump posted a new version with the Star of David cleverly replaced with a circle.
However, one Twitter user with the handle Southpaw noticed that the graphic was changed so hastily that the circle was placed over top of the star in such a way that the star's points can still be seen poking out...
|Nicely done graphics team!|
Stereotyping Jews is not new for Trump. In December, he gave a speech before the Republican Jewish Coalition that was jam packed with anti-Semitic stereotypes.
Trump, attempting to connect with the audience, said I am...
“a negotiator like you folks,”
On the same point Trump asked...
“Is there anyone in this room who doesn’t negotiate deals?”
He then told them that he doesn’t want their money...
“so therefore you’re probably not going to support me.”
Trump also dropped this gem...
"Obama Oy yoy yoy"
In 1991, Trump made similarly anti-Semetic remarks in an interview with USA Today...
“I have black guys counting my money. I hate it. The only guys I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes all day.”
Plus there is the now infamous incident where anti-Semites and white supremacists took it as a tacit endorsement when Trump waffled when a reporter asked him about neo-nazi David Duke's endorsement.
After Trump's long history of this kind of behavior coupled with yesterday sickening message I have a feeling we will be seeing more of these kind of attacks.
