With this in mind let’s take a look at an interview Donald Trump did with George Stephanopoulos which aired on Sunday.
One of the many topics Stephanopoulos discussed with Trump was his campaign’s curious effort at last week’s RNC to have any references to arming Ukraine in its ongoing fight against pro-Russia rebels stripped from the Republican parties platform.
When faced with this question Trump, who obviously had no clue what Stephanopoulos had just asked him, began babbling that he'd "have to take a look at it". After claiming ignorance of the platform change he did however pledge that he’d be tough on Russia when it came to Ukraine saying…
“It’s ― look, you know, I have my own ideas. Putin’s not going into Ukraine, okay, just so you understand. He’s not going to go into Ukraine, all right? You can mark it down. You can put it down. You can take it anywhere you want,”
After Trump's amazingly ignorant statement given Russia’s invasion of Ukraine Stephanopoulos said “Well, he’s already there, isn’t he?” to which trump replied…
“Okay — well, he’s there in a certain way. But I’m not there, Obama there. And frankly, that whole part of the world is a mess under Obama with all the strength that you’re talking about and all of the power of NATO and all of this. In the meantime, he’s going away. He take ― takes Crimea. He’s sort of, I mean ―”
Wait, what? Watch it here...

What kind of idiotic word salad bullshit is that!?!? "I’m not there, Obama there"!?!?! How a man this ignorant is even being considered for the presidency still astounds me.
FACT CHECK: As far as trying to pin this one on President Obama... In 2008 while George W. Bush was president Russia went to war with and defeated Georgia advancing all the way to it's capital, Tbilisi. Bush officials ruled out military options due to the deterioration in U.S.-Russian relations over the previous five years of his presidency. They did however impose sanctions.
Putting that aside let's take a moment to ponder this: We can now add the RNC's Ukrainian platform change to the fact that Trump’s campaign manager Paul Manafort worked as an adviser to the Russian-backed president of Ukraine for ten years and Russia’s hacking of the DNC as well as Hillary Clinton’s campaign and things begin to smell... Well... a little fishy.
Asking just how deep is Putin's reach into Trump's campaign is becoming a legitimate question.
Trump's stupidity is however unquestionable.
