Donald Trump Says Something Stupid #48: Clinton's New Email Flap Is "Bigger Than Watergate" (VIDEO)

Imagine if you will a man adrift at sea. He has no boat, no life preserver and no means of staying afloat. He is defenseless against the waves and is exhausted and close to allowing the sea to swallow him up. That man is the Trump campaign. But wait! Just in the nick of time a life preserver is thrown to him saving him from an assured slow decent to the bottom of the ocean's icy depths. That life preserver is Hillary Clinton's emails!

Speaking at a rally in New Hampshire, the man adrift at sea used his life preserver when Trump exclaimed that he had learned about the Clinton emails just minutes before taking the stage. It was then that Donald Trump compared the new Clinton email revelation to the scandal that brought down President Nixon in 1974....

Wow, It's A Big day. No think of it. I won my first primary in New Hampshire and I'm getting here and the news this morning is... This is bigger than Watergate. This is bigger than Watergate. In my opinion."

Quite a bold assertion. Would anyone like to push back on Donald's declaration?

You, yes you there... What's your name?? Speak up now!

Oh, look. It's former U.S. Attorney Nick Akerman who was a prosecutor who worked on the Watergate case!

Akerman, to put it mildly, disagrees with Trump...

Donald Trump’s statement that this is bigger than Watergate is totally absurd. There is no evidence of any violation of law. For Trump to reach that conclusion based on a total lack of evidence is reminiscent of the innuendo spread by Joseph McCarthy in the early 1950s.

Anyone else wanna say something?... Oh okay... You there.

We'll as I live and breathe it's famed Watergate journalist Carl Bernstein of "the" Woodward and Bernstein!

Bernstein, while on Anderson Cooper's AC360, contradicted Trump saying that newly discovered emails related to Hillary Clinton's private server did not rise to the occasion of Watergate...

"Its not Watergate. Watergate was about a criminal President of the United States who presided over a criminal administration from the day he took office to the day he left.

Therein lies the problem. If Trump overplays his hand fate has dealt him the very life preserver that now keeps him afloat may just turn out to be an albatross around his neck.
