Donald Trump Says Women Will "Have To Go To Another State" For Abortions If Roe V. Wade Is Repealed

During his run for the presidency Trump pledged to appoint Supreme Court justices who oppose Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 decision that affirmed a woman’s right to an abortion

During his interview, on “60 Minutes” Trump re-affirmed his pledge to appoint “pro-life judges” going on to play out a hypothetical scene in which the law was ever overturned he said it would then be the states decision on whether abortion would be legal.

When host Lesley Stahl pointed out to Trump that “Some women won’t be able to get an abortion?” Trump responded...

Yeah, well, they’ll perhaps have to go, they’ll have to go to another state.

When Stahl asked if he thought that was acceptable, Trump said...

Well, we’ll see what happens. It’s got a long way to go, just so you understand. That has a long, long way to go.

It is important to point out that in March, while being interviewed by Chris Mathews, Trump suggested that women who seek abortions should "punished."
