New Poll Shows Donald Trump's Approval Ratings Are Still Historically Low As Inauguration Nears (POLL)
According to a Gallup poll released Friday, more than half of people said they “disapprove” of Mr. Trump’s transition performance. Just 44 percent expressed approval of the president-elect. That’s a drop of four percentage points from the 48 percent of people that approved of the president-elect from Gallup's poll in December.
Incidentally Trump's 48% transition approval rating in December was already the lowest for any presidential transition Gallup has measured
You can plainly see the stark differential between Trump's low poll numbers and the ratings of other presidents-elect before him as shown in this chart...
Of course Republicans and Democrats had differing views of how Mr. Trump has handled the transition, with 87 percent of Republicans saying they approved while only 13 percent of Democrats said the same. Meanwhile his transition approval among independents has fallen from 46% to 33%.
Mr. Trump’s Cabinet nominations are also facing low approval ratings as Fifty-two percent of people believe the president-elect’s Cabinet nominees are only “average” or better as forty-four percent viewed Mr. Trump’s Cabinet nominees as “below average” or “poor.”.
These are shockingly low numbers when compared to the 83 percent that believed that of Mr. Obama’s and Clinton’s, and 81 percent that thought that of Bush’s picks.
