WATCH: Live Stream Of Donald Trump's Addresses Joint Session Of Congress - 2/28/2017

Tune in for Trump's enlightened oratory, stay for the second he goes off teleprompter!

Oooh, look! Someone made him wear a suit that fits and a normal sized tie!

Father Of SEAL Slain In Trump's Botched Yemen Raid Demands Investigation

The father of the Navy SEAL killed in a botched Yemen raid last month is now demanding an investigation into the Trump ordered operation that took his son’s life.

Bill Owens, the father of Chief Petty Officer William “Ryan” Owens, the Navy SEAL who died in the operation, has also accused the Trump administration of using his son as a political prop in an interview published Sunday in The Miami Herald.

According to a timeline provided by the then White House National Security Advisor Michael Flynn the mission was planned over a Jan. 25th dinner that included Vice President Mike Pence, Chief Strategist Steve Bannon and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. It was not held in the Situation Room, as had been a practice under previous administrations. The mission was then signed off on by Trump the next afternoon.

The mission was originally intended for servicemen to gather laptops, cellphones and intelligence about al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula but due to poor planning quickly devolved into a fiery battle that killed Owens and claimed the lives of up to thirty Yemeni civilians of which ten were determined to be women and children.

Owens said of Trump's actions...

Why at this time did there have to be this stupid mission when it wasn’t even barely a week into his administration? Why? For two years prior, there were no boots on the ground in Yemen — everything was missiles and drones — because there was not a target worth one American life. Now, all of a sudden we had to make this grand display?’’

The grieving father then demanded an investigation saying...

Don’t hide behind my son’s death to prevent an investigation. I want an investigation. … The government owes my son an investigation,”,

In light of the claims that the mission was botched from the beginning White House press secretary Sean "alternative facts" Spicer went on the offensive and insisted that the raid was instead “highly successful” and attacked critics who argued that Trump should not have approved such a dangerous mission...

“Anyone who undermines the success of that raid owes an apology to the life and service of Chief Owens,

Unfortunately for Spicer and his boss Pentagon senior officials have since revealed that the raid produced no "actionable intelligence".

In addition a senior Congressional official briefed on the matter said the Trump administration has yet to explain what prompted the rare use of American ground troops in Yemen as he was not aware of any new threat from al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, the al Qaeda affiliate that was targeted.

After the countless investigations they heaped on Hillary Clinton for years over the Benghazi attack I don't see any way they can reasonably justify not allowing an investigation into this incident given the recent revelations.

Donald Trump Says Something Stupid #71: Says Oscar Mix-Up Happened Because They Were Too "Focused" On Attacking Him

Last night the Oscars royally screwed up the ending of their show by giving the best picture award to the wrong film.

Well, Donald Trump believes he has an explanation for the Oscar flub that involves him because of course he does.

During an interview with Breitbart News Trump claimed the organizers spent too much time focusing on attacking him rather than working on getting the details of the show right.

Trump expoused...

I think they were focused so hard on politics that they didn’t get the act together at the end. It was a little sad. It took away from the glamour of the Oscars. It didn’t feel like a very glamorous evening. I’ve been to the Oscars. There was something very special missing, and then to end that way was sad.

Despite Trump’s alternative facts, the accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers, which tallies the Oscar ballots and holds the envelopes backstage, claimed it was simple human error. But I wouldn't try convincing Trump of that since in his mind every single thing that happens in the world is directly related to him.

Donald Trump Says Something Stupid # 70: Trump Believes President Obama Is Behind All The Protests, Town Halls And Leaks (VIDEO)

This morning Donald Trump went on Fox and Friends and explained to the crazy kids on the curvy couch just who he believed was behind all the protests around the country and all the leaks coming from within his White House.

I just about fell out of my chair when he revealed that it was none other that old pesky President Obama and his deep state embeds that must be hidden in the walls of the Oval Office.

In the segment Trump is asked by sportscaster and world's only surviving brain donor Brian Kimeade whether he believed that President Obama was orchestrating the protests and angry crowds attending town-hall meetings around the country...

Donald Trump...

I think he is behind it. I also think it’s politics. That's the way it is"

Brian Kilmeade...

"But Bush was never going after Clinton, Clinton going after Bush"

"Well you never know what’s exactly happening behind the scenes. You know you're probably right or possibly right but you never know. I think President Obama is behind it because his people are certainly behind it. And some of the leaks possibly come from that group which are really very serious leaks because they're very bad in terms of our national security."

Here is the video of Trump and Kilmeade trading asinine statements...

In the past, and without any proof, Trump has claimed that the protesters and the angry Town hall constituents were the work of professional organizers and paid agitators but this claim that the former president was the mastermind behind them is a new one.

Additionally Trump had also previously suggested — again, without evidence — that Obama plants within the government were the ones leaking sensitive information to sabotage his agenda.

The wheels are coming off the Trump train.

Cowardly Trump Tweets He Is Backing Out Of The White House Correspondents Dinner. SAD!

President Donald Trump shot out a tweet on Saturday stating that he will not be attending the annual White House correspondents dinner this year.

Here is Trump's tweet in which no reason is given for his cancelation...

Trump's announcement comes as he has mounted a sustained attack on the media calling news organizations “the enemy of the American people” and excluded several major news outlets, from a press briefing.

It would be a reasoned assumption that Trump is ducking the dinner to avoid a possible repeat of the humiliation he suffered at the hands of then President Obama at the 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner. It was at that event when the President took revenge on Trump who had for months been engaged in a media blitz pushing his "birther" campaign that the President was not born in the United States.

Here is the video of President Obama absolutely destroying Trump...

It never gets old!

Jeff Mason, White House Correspondents Association president, acknowledged Trump’s announcement said in a statement...

We look forward to shining a spotlight at the dinner on some of the best political journalism of the past year and recognizing the promising students who represent the next generation of our profession,

Trump's cancelation comes after Bloomberg and Vanity Fair announced they would not hold their after dinner party and CNN had been openly contemplating sitting out the dinner.

The last president to not attend the dinner was Ronald Reagan in 1981 who was recovering from being shot in an assassination attempt. Reagan did however phone into the event and even joked about the shooting saying...

"If I could give you just one little bit of advice. When somebody tells you to get in a car quick, do it."

Whether you were a fan of Reagan's politics or not there is no denying he was a class act.

News That White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer Confiscated Aides Phones In Search For Leakers... Immediately Leaks!

Paranoia abounds in the White House as it's Press Secretary, Sean "alternative facts" Spicer decided he would crack down on leaks by implementing random phone checks of White House staffers.

The move came after Spicer became aware that information had leaked out of a planning meeting with his communications staffers. In response to the revelation he called the group into his office for “an emergency meeting,” in which staffers were told to dump their phones on a table for a “phone check".

According to multiple sources Spicer, who was flanked by White House lawyers, had the staffers phones scoured for apps like Confide and Signal that automatically delete texts after they are sent which Which Spicer claimed violated the Presidential Records Act.

Unfortunately for Spicer the Records Act only applies to official communication devices, not personal devices and does not cover leaking.

Following the technical pat down Spicer warned the group that there would be more problems if news of the phone checks and the meeting about leaks was leaked to the media.

Of course the story was immediately leaked to the media.

The episode and the continued leaking provides a disturbing insight into the dysfunction within the West Wing of an administration that appears in crises with aides who are obviously frustrated and worried about their futures.

Spicer's actions comes as Donald Trump has been escalating his war on the media in which he alleges that "unnamed sources" were being used in "fake" stories as he expressed growing frustration with the leaking of information by individuals within his administration.

BREAKING! White House Tried To Enlist FBI And Senior Members Of The Intelligence Community To Lobby News Agencies Knock Down Their Reports On Donald Trump's Ties To Russia

A new report has surfaced showing that Donald Trump's Chief of Staff, Rience Preibus, contacted the Federal Bureau Of Investigations to request that they publicly knock down media reports about communications between Donald Trump, his associates and Russians known to US intelligence during the 2016 presidential campaign.

The report indicates that despite Preibus request that the bureau and other agencies reverse their original reports they said no to Preibus' overtures.

What makes this matter even worse is that the discussions between the FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and Reince Priebus defies an order which forbid direct correspondence between the administration and the FBI as pursuant to a decade-old restriction on such contacts. The restrictions were put into place after the Nixon Watergate scandal to stop communications with the FBI on pending investigations... like the very one that is looking into the Trump-Russia matter.

In a bizarre move late Thursday night, White House press secretary Sean "alternative facts" Spicer all but admitted to the forbidden contact when he objected to the media's characterization of the White House request to the FBI saying...

"We didn't try to knock the story down. We asked them to tell the truth,"

This despite an earlier attempt at by The White House in which they initially disputed that account, saying that McCabe called Priebus!

This wasn't the only case of the Trump administration's meddling into how the media was dealing with the Trump-Russia connection.

After the unsuccessful attempts by Preibus to get senior FBI officials to speak with news organizations to dispute the accuracy of their reporting on the contacts between Trump and Russia White House officials sought the help of senior members of the intelligence community and Congress in efforts to counter news stories about Trump associates’ ties to Russia.

Stunningly these officials included both Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) and Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) who are the chairmen of the Senate and House intelligence committees who are... Wait for it... in charge of the investigations into Trump's ties to Russia!

Both Burr and Nunes have admitted they were contacted by the white House and made calls to news organizations last week in attempts to challenge stories about alleged contacts between members of President Trump’s campaign team and Russian intelligence operatives.

Department Of Homeland Security Shoots Down Trump's Muslim Ban Redo

Analysts at the Homeland Security Department's intelligence has delivered a crushing blow to Donald Trump's second attempt at a Muslim ban in only three pages.

The conclusion the DHS drew found insufficient evidence that citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries included in Donald Trump's travel ban pose a terror threat to the United States citing that citizenship is "likely an unreliable indicator" of terrorist activity in the United States.

This conclusion emphatically undercuts Donald Trump's reasoning for his Muslim ban.

The three-page report challenges Trump's core claims. It states that of the 82 people the government determined were inspired by a foreign terrorist group to carry out or try to carry out an attack in the United States, over half were U.S. citizens born in the United States. The others were from 26 countries, led by Pakistan, Somalia, Bangladesh, Cuba, Ethiopia, Iraq and Uzbekistan. Of these, only Somalia and Iraq were among the seven nations included in the ban. Of the other five nations, one person each from Iran, Sudan and Yemen was also involved in those terrorism cases, but none from Syria.

This findings completely shatter the logic behind Trump's first attempt at a Muslim ban in which he cited terrorism concerns as the primary reason behind the sweeping travel ban which temporarily barred citizens from the seven countries from coming to the United States, temporarily shut down the U.S. refugee program for four months and indefinitely banned anyone from Syria or Libya.

Famously that first version, which sparked chaos, outrage and widespread protests, was blocked by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals directly challenging Trump's claim that it was motivated by terrorism fears.

After the defeat Trump issued an all caps threat to the judge saying...

After that outrage laden tweet he quickly and quietly withdrew the executive order.

After that defeat his administration set out to rewrite Trump's Muslim ban so that it could withstand the scrutiny of the courts. That is when the asked the Homeland Security Department's Intelligence and Analysis branch to find some evidence that the seven countries on the ban list were "terror threats".

It was only last Friday Trump was boasting that his new edict would be announced soon claiming his administration had been working on a version that could withstand legal challenges...

That is until this report leaked.

Homeland Security spokeswoman Gillian Christensen on Friday did not dispute the report's authenticity, but instead said it was not a final comprehensive review of the government's intelligence...

"While DHS was asked to draft a comprehensive report on this issue, the document you're referencing was commentary from a single intelligence source versus an official, robust document with thorough interagency sourcing. The ... report does not include data from other intelligence community sources. It is incomplete."

Pushing back on the charges of being "incomplete" the report itself reveals that it's findings were based on open sourced, unclassified information from Justice Department press releases on terrorism-related convictions and attackers killed in the act, State Department visa statistics, the 2016 Worldwide Threat Assessment from the U.S. intelligence community and the State Department Country Reports on Terrorism 2015.

The fact that the three page intelligence document was circulated beyond Homeland Security - i.e. leaked -  reflects the tensions between the Trump's political appointees and the civil servants tasked with carrying out his agenda.

Apparently they aren't very keen on their new boss.

FACT CHECK: A separate report released last year by the libertarian think tank Cato Institute reported similar findings as this one in that refugees do not pose a considerable risk to American lives. According to that report, the likelihood of an American being killed in a terrorist attack caused by a refugee is 1 in 3.64 billion per year.

White House Bars News Organizations From Press Briefing. Allows Only Hand Chosen Outlets

Today the White House blocked several news outlets from attending the daily press briefing opting instead to engage in a closed-door session with the media groups of their liking.

The decision drew strong rebukes from a multitude of news organizations and will of course only heighten tensions between the press and the administration.

CNN, The New York Times, The Hill, Politico, BuzzFeed, the Daily Mail, BBC, the Los Angeles Times, the New York Daily and The Huffington Post were the outlets barred from today's briefing. These organizations have reported what has been considered critical or unfavorable stories about the present administration and have therefore been frequent targets for their ire as well as that of Donald Trumps.

White House spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham responded to questions about the exclusions saying that...

Claims that outlets were excluded are not factual. The pool was there, so various media mediums were represented.

Sean "alternative facts" Spicer said of the blacklisting...

I think that we have shown an abundance of of accessibility. We’ve brought more reporters into this process. … We’ve actually gone above and beyond making ourselves, our team and our briefing room more accessible than probably any prior administration. I think you can take that to the bank.”

The barring of the media should not come as a complete surprise as Spicer had said prior to the start of the administration that the White House may skip televised daily briefings in favor of an off-camera briefing with reporters. In addition to that there is always the precedent set by then candidate Trump who blacklisted nearly a dozen outlets during the 2016 election.

That being said it was a more than highly unusual move for the White House to hand-pick outlets to attend daily, on-the-record briefings with spokespeople, which are typically open for all reporters to attend.

Media experts have agreed that today's stunt was in fact a petty and desperate attempt to change the narrative from Donald Trump and his administrations inept and incompetent first month in office.

Both the Associated Press and Time magazine, which were allowed to enter, boycotted out of solidarity with those news organizations kept out.

Trump Again Calls The Media The "Enemy Of The People" (VIDEO)

Today while speaking to a staunchly conservative and thoroughly pro-Trump audience at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Donald Trump launched into an all out attack on journalism. Trump raged against reporters, unnamed sources and "fake news" describing them as "the enemy" of the American people.

In the same breath he used to pledge his allegiance to the First Amendment he also spit on the freedom of the press it promises...

"A few days ago I called the fake news the enemy of the people, and they are — they are the enemy of the people the fake news media doesn't tell the truth.

Trump went on to say that he believed reporters should not be allowed to use anonymous sources, claiming that he was "going to do something about it."

Trump, though it wouldn't become apparent until later, did not elaborate on what that "something" might be.

Regardless, the crowd lapped up his attacks.

It was the latest in a series of Trump and his administrations attacks on the media that are obviously designed to undermine the public's faith in them due to their coverage of his seeming endless reports of chaos, incompetence, impotence and potential wrongdoing inside his administration.

Trump first made the media "enemy" claim a week ago in a Feb. 17th tweet...

White House Petition Demanding Trump Release Tax Returns Receives Over 1 Million Signatures

Back in 2011 President Barack Obama created the White House petition system in order to increase government accessibility to the common man. The site requires a participant to post a simple petition and if said petition garners at least 100,000 signatures within 60 days if a petition the White House must provide an official response

That brings us to today as a petition on the White House website that demanded the immediate release of President Donald Trump’s tax returns has received over ten times the required amount with 1,070,689 million signatures.

The petition, which closed Sunday, asks the federal government to...

immediately release Donald Trump’s full tax returns, with all information needed to verify emoluments clause compliance. The unprecedented economic conflicts of this administration need to be visible to the American people, including any pertinent documentation which can reveal the foreign influences and financial interests which may put Donald Trump in conflict with the emoluments clause of the Constitution,

Not only did the Trump tax release petition surpass the 100,000 signature threshold within 24 hours it subsequently broke the petition website’s record. It has even gone on to inspire a New York Times editorial.

Although the White House has claimed in the past that the Trump administration will maintain the online petition system it is unclear if they plan to respond to this petition or any other petitions that get 100,000 signatures within 30 days.

The writing seems to be on the all as far as Trump's release his tax returns as White House adviser Kellyanne Conway said last month he had no intention of doing so, claiming people "aren’t interested".

The petition seems to prove that there is an alternate fact to Conway's assertion.

In related news Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee, which has the authority to obtain an individual’s tax returns and can then vote on whether to release them to the public, thwarted an attempt by Democrats last week to obtain Trump’s tax returns.

FACT CHECK: Until the Trump Tax release petition broke the record for the White House website the previous record-holder was a petition demanding the Westboro Baptist Church be designated a hate group.

New Poll Shows Americans Trust The "Dishonest" Media More than Trump... Despite His Best Efforts (POLL)

A new Quinnipiac University poll shows  that 52% of voters trust the media more than they trust Trump, while only 37% said they trusted Trump more.

Interestingly the poll showed that Trump's campaign to brand the "dishonest" media as untrustworthy seemed to work on his base alone.

The numbers in the dramatic split between Republicans and other Americans on the question of trust breaks down thusly...

78 percent of Republican voters said they trusted Trump more than the media, while just 13 percent said they trusted the media more.

86 percent of Democrats said they trusted the media more than the president as only 14 percent trusted Trump more.

The poll also suggests that Trump's efforts to discredit the media have also drawn clear battle lines among white college-educated voters who said they trusted the media more at a 55% to 37% which aligns almost perfectly with the full polling results.

But when non-college-educated white voters were asked who they trusted more they chose Trump 55% to 37% in a perfect mirror to their counterparts.

And while a polling of only white voters shows that they are almost split down the middle on the trust question, preferring the media by just one point at 46% to 45%, nonwhite voters on the other hand trust the media far more, with 68% expressing trust versus just 18% expressing trust for Trump.

Those divides are also reflected in the approval rating for Trump's treatment of the media as 61% of American voters disapprove of Trump's treatment of the media. Among party lines though 73% of Republicans approve of Trump's treatment of the media as 92% of Democrats disapprove.

Meanwhile, a total of 90% of American voters say it is "very important" or somewhat important" "that the news media hold public officials accountable.

Muslim Fundraiser to Repair Desecrated Jewish Cemetery Nets Over $120,000

Amidst a rash of hundreds of bomb threats to Jewish, many to  community centers, and widespread threats anti-Semitic violence a Jewish cemetery was severely vandalized.

180 gravestones were toppled and broken at the Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery just outside of St. Louis, Missouri over the weekend stunning the community.

After witnessing the wreckage Linda Sarsour of "MPower Change" and Tarek El-Messidi of "Celebrate Mercy" set up an online fundraiser at The LaunchGood.com encouraging Muslims to donate to repair vandalism.

Click image to go to fundraising page

In just over 36 hours the fundraiser netted over $120,000.

Sarsour said on MSNBC Wednesday that she...

"People in a cemetery should be able to rest in peace. Expected nothing less from my community, who has always been a generous community."

El-Messidi, whose Philadelphia-based organization Celebrate Mercy creates interactive webcasts and videos that teach about the Prophet Muhammad, told NBC News...

"One of the silver linings of all this divisiveness and hate rhetoric has been the two communities coming together. Historically, we did not work together. People are putting their politics aside and working to fight bigotry together."

El-Messidi says the fundraiser isn't just bringing in donations but that over 100 messages have been received through the webpage as well many from American Jews moved by the Muslim community's support.

After Vice President Mike Pence condemned the act of vandalism El-Messidi, when asked, noted that while both Pence and Trump had spoken out against antisemitism this week, neither has issued a single remark condemning the rise of anti-Muslim hate groups or the increase of violent attacks and threats against the American Muslim community.

El-Messidi went on to say that the Trump administration appears to mistakenly conflate radical Islamist terror groups like ISIS with peaceful American Muslims and that such a comparison leads to more hate...

"We are tired of being grouped along with the crazies, they scare us just as much as any American,"

Sarsour and El-Messidi's fundraiser will remain open for donations until March 21s and that any funds raised beyond the needs of Chesed Shel Emeth Society "will be used to support the growing security needs of the Jewish community."

No suspects have been identified in the crime.

Trump Administration Formally Revokes Federal Protections For Transgender Students

Donald Trump’s administration has announced that it will no longer bar schools from discriminating against transgender students and that it is rescinding the policy put in place by President Obama that protected their rights.

On Wednesday the Trump administration issued new guidance outlining which restrooms transgender students can use adding confusion and uncertainty to a case due to come before the U.S. Supreme Court next month.

Citing legal confusion, the departments said they "have decided to withdraw and rescind" guidelines issued last year by the Obama administration requiring that schools allow transgender students to use restrooms matching their chosen gender rather than their birth gender.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who's fingerprints appear to be all over this move, said in a statement...

The prior guidance documents did not contain sufficient legal analysis or explain how the interpretation was consistent with the language of Title IX. The Department of Education and the Department of Justice therefore have withdrawn the guidance. Congress, state legislatures, and local governments are in a position to adopt appropriate policies or laws addressing this issue. The Department of Justice remains committed to the proper interpretation and enforcement of Title IX and to its protections for all students, including LGBTQ students, from discrimination, bullying, and harassment.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said President Trump is...

"a firm believer in states' rights and that certain issues like this are not best dealt with at the federal level.

To date fifteen states have explicit protections for transgender students, and many individual school districts in other states have adopted policies that recognize students on the basis of their gender identity. Just one state, North Carolina, has enacted a law restricting students' bathroom access to their sex at birth.

But so far this year, since Trump has taken office, lawmakers in more than 10 states are considering enacting legislation similar to North Carolina's according to the National Conference of State Legislators.

One need only to look at the fact that only 150,000 youths — 0.7 percent— between the ages of 13 and 17 in the United States identify as transgender, according to a study by The Williams Institute at the UCLA School of Law, to see that this move is merely a cynical play to strengthen Trump's already crumbling base and agenda.

This move might come as a surprise to those in the LGBT community who may have considered themselves safe from this administration as Trump portrayed himself as a defender of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community in his Republican National Convention speech last year.

FACT CHECK: Gloucester County School Board v. G.G. a case in which a transgender student is arguing for the right to use the facilities that correspond to self-imposed gender identity instead of sex at birth, is scheduled to go before the Court in March.

Mexico Says No To Trump's "Hostile" New Deportation Orders

Foreign Minister Luis Videgaray said Mexico will not accept new U.S. immigration policy
In response to Donald Trump's new guidance memos on "protecting the homeland" from undocumented immigrants Mexico has stated that it will vigorously fight U.S. mass deportations back to Mexico and refuse to accept any non-Mexicans expelled across the border.

The statement was issued by Mexican Foreign Minister Luis Videgaray one day after the Trump administration unveiled it's new guidelines for enforcing immigration laws.

Videgaray said the treatment of Mexican migrants in the United States would top his country's agenda when President Enrique Peña Nieto meets today with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly saying...

I want to make clear, in the most emphatic way, that the government of Mexico and the Mexican people do not have to accept measures that, in a unilateral way, one government wants to impose on another,

He added that if necessary Mexico would go to the United Nations to defend the rights of its migrants.

Despite the claims of the Department of Homeland Security that its new directives focus on criminals and those who pose a threat to the U.S. the new rules geant expanded authority of federal agents to deport the vast majority of the 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the United States as all federal immigration officers would be allowed to conduct "expedited removal" anywhere in the U.S. against people who arrived here in the previous two years.

This latest dispute threatens to further damage already strained U.S.-Mexico relations, which has deteriorated when Trump promised to build a wall along the border wall at Mexico's expense and his attempt to renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) that he said has unfairly benefited Mexico.

The current upheaval promises to jeopardize the recent cooperation between the two countries in which the U.S. has provided financial, technical and intelligence assistance in Mexico’s decade-long crackdown on drug cartels and Mexico's 2014 initiative to secure its southern border in which it has detained and deported more than 300,000 Central Americans.

Adding to the nonsensical new orders the Trump administration is putting into place Trump's talk of repealing NAFTA is equally as baffling. The trade rules have been a boon for Mexico’s middle class which has in turn stemmed the tide of undocumented workers from coming into the US illegally as population estimates show more Mexicans are returning home than heading north.

REFUGEES WELCOME: Lady Liberty Rebukes Trump's Mass Deportation Plan!

At approximately 12:50 PM Thursday afternoon, a banner reading “Refugees Welcome” was unfurled atop the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty National Monument.

The banner was affixed upon Lady Liberty in direct opposition to the Trump administration unveiled its expansive mass deportation plan.

It's not yet clear who's responsible for the banner... But we send you a hearty "Thank You!"

Trump's Homeland Security Unveils A Terrifying New Plan For The Treatment, Detention And Deportation Of Undocumented Immigrants

The Department of Homeland Security has begun the roll out of Donald Trump's sweeping set of orders that implement his plan to increase immigration enforcement and plans for a wider crackdown on people coming into the United States illegally.

Although Trump claimed his focus would be to deport undocumented immigrants with criminal histories the new "Guidance Memos", a pair of documents signed by DHS Secretary John Kelly, makes it abundantly clear that all of the nation's 11 million undocumented immigrants would be at risk of immediate deportation.

Here is a breakdown of the proposed plans the Trump administration wish to implement.

The memos orders the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to identify, capture and quickly deport every undocumented immigrant they encounter.

The memos make it a requirement that any and all undocumented immigrants caught entering the country be placed in detention until their cases are resolved.

Though the memos make undocumented immigrants who have been convicted of a crime the highest priority for enforcement operations. But they make clear that ICE agents should also arrest and initiate deportation proceedings against any other undocumented immigrant they encounter.

One memo stated that department personnel have full authority to arrest or apprehend any alien whom immigration officers believe, even without evidence, are in violation of the immigration laws.

The memo also stated that department personnel would have full authority to initiate removal proceedings against any alien who is subject to removal under any provision of the (Immigration and Nationality Act)."

The memos also call for the increase in the the ability of local police to help in immigration enforcement and calls for the immediate hiring of 10,000 more immigration agents.

The memos seek to end that practice, known as “catch and release,” by ordering the construction of massive detention facilities along the southwest border to house detained immigrants until their cases are resolved.

The new directives also allow Customs agents to send some people directly back to Mexico, whether they’re Mexican or not. Under previous administrations, people from Mexico and Canada could be deported directly back home. But people from all other countries, such as from Central America, had to be detained until they could be flown back to their country of origin.

The memos call for the creation of a new and permanent office within ICE called "The Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement Office" or VOICE which would establishe a process to keep victims and their families informed about the status of criminal cases against the undocumented immigrants and any followup deportation proceedings.

Along with this new office the orders would eliminate protections that had been granted to undocumented immigrants under the federal Privacy Act, meaning ICE will now publicly distribute information about these cases.

The only group that appears to be spared deportation for now are the more than 750,000 undocumented immigrants brought to the country as children who had protections granted to them by President Obama in 2012 under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program or DACA. (I guess the Trump team could not find a legal way around that one!)

And of course the memos wouldn't have been complete without immediate calls to begin planning Trump's signature border wall between the United States and Mexico.

For now, the memos seem to have dropped any mention of the idea of using of 100,000 National Guard troops along the southwest border that was included in a draft version of the memos last week.

Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, an anti-immigrant organization claimed the memos capture many recommendations his group has been making for years...

"It's Christmas in February. What (Homeland Security Secretary John) Kelly has done is lay out a broad road map of regaining control of a process that's spun out of control."

Immigration advocacy groups were distraught when confronted with the orders.

Lynn Tramonte, deputy director of America's Voice Educational Fund, which advocates on behalf of immigrants said...

"These memos lay out a detailed blueprint for the mass deportation of 11 million undocumented immigrants in America. They fulfill the wish lists of the white nationalist and anti-immigrant movements and bring to life the worst of Donald Trump's campaign rhetoric."

Or in other word's Republicans will be overjoyed with the new plans.

Here are the memos...

Trump's Mar-A-Lago Trips Have Already Cost US Taxpayers Over $10 Million Dollars

Donald Trump’s has flown to Mar-a-Lago, his private club in Palm Beach and so-called “Winter White House”, three out of the first three weekends he has been in office. That breaks down to 11 of his first 33 days.

The fact that the man-baby has to fly home every weekend is worrisome enough but it's the price tag that accompanies his excursions back home is what is truly galling.

If you were wondering what his jaunts back to Palm beach every weekend has cost the taxpayers an estimated $10 million plus so far.

One might argue that estimate is a smidge low considering that every time Trump runs home we foot the bill for not only the Secret Service but the police surrounding the estate, the U.S. Coast Guard in the surrounding waters and the air space that is shut down around the gaudy gold plated nightmare every time he is there. And that's not even including the local law enforcement, the airspace lockdown around Lantana Airport in Palm Beach County or disruptions to businesses near Mar-a-Lago who are estimated to lose about $30,000 each weekend!

While the White House won’t disclose the exact cost of Mr. Trump’s visits the $10 million cost can be ascertained based on figures from a similar trip by President Obama in 2013.

The weekend Mr. Obama spent in South Florida cost taxpayers $3.6 million. The Pentagon spent about $2.8 million for Air Force One plus support aircraft and military personnel. The Secret Service and the Coast Guard added nearly $800,000.

Multiply that by three and you get roughly 10.8 million dollar which hasn't even been adjusted for inflation!

And don't get us started on the millions of dollars spent on secret service to protect the Donald's wife Melania who won't even set foot in Washington DC and must receive full time protection at Trump Tower in New York at an estimated 1 million a day!!!!!

To question the price tag seems quite fair as Mr. Trump often attacked his President Obama over his travel...

FACT CHECK: During his eight years in office, Mr. Obama racked up about $85 million in travel costs. Mr. Trump is on pace to eclipse that way before the end of his first year!

NOT MY PRESIDENT DAY! Thousands Turn Out To Protest Trump On Reimagined Holiday (36 PICTURES)

Yesterday Americans transformed "President’s Day" into "Not My President’s Day" as thousands of demonstrators turned out across the U.S. to protest Donald Trump.

Organizers said they chose to rally on the holiday as a way to honor past presidents by exercising their constitutional right to assemble and peacefully protest.

Protests took place in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Detroit, Portland, Chicago, Washington DC, Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Dallas, and more than two dozen other cities across the nation in a show of defiance against a man who has been in office for less than a month.

There was even a massive anti-Trump rally across the pond in London where some 1.85 million Brits have signed a petition demanding that Trump be dis-invited from a state visit to the Great Britain later this year.
