Trump's First Disastrous Counterterrorism Raid That Killed A Navy Seal Had Insufficient Intel, Ground Support And Inadequate Backup

U.S. military officials revealed Wednesday that Donald Trump’s first covert counterterrorism operation was carried out without sufficient intelligence, insufficient ground support and inadequate backup preparations.

The Operation was reportedly hastily green lit by Trump over a dinner with his Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, National Security Advisor Mike Flynn and his son-in-law real estate mogul Jared Kushner.

As a result, three officials said, the attacking SEAL team found itself dropping onto a reinforced Al Qaeda base in Yemen defended by landmines, snipers, and a larger than expected contingent of heavily armed Islamist extremists.

Chief Petty Officer William Owens and Nawar al-Awkaki

The deadly raid left a Navy SEAL William Owens, 8-year-old Nawar al-Awkaki and at least 15 additional civilians dead. Medics at the scene, however, said about 30 people, including 10 women and children, were killed. Three other SEAL's were seriously injured.

A Trump administration official supplied alternative facts to those the US military officials gave saying the operation was thoroughly vetted and that the previous defense secretary had signed off on it in January (not true) but added that it was delayed for operational reasons.

Commandos told the New York Times reported that the commandos knew that the mission covert counterterrorism operation was doomed from the start but they pressed on...

One former SEAL Team 6 official told The Times...

They kind of knew they were screwed from the beginning,

Military officials, who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity, said “a brutal firefight” broke out and took the lives of Chief Special Warfare Operator William (Ryan) Owens and at least 15 Yemeni women and children.

Again the White House implied that the us officials were lying when they had  Pentagon spokesman Captain Jeff Davis claimed that some of the women were firing at the U.S. force.

The white house did however make sure to report the claims that more than half a dozen militant suspects were also killed in the raid.

To further blur reality, in a Thursday press briefing, Press Secretary Sean "alternative facts" Spicer characterized Trump’s first military raid -  that resulted in the death of a Navy SEAL and many civilians — as a...

successful operation by all standards.

In a final disturbing note to this disastrous affair Donald Trump, who lied repeatedly about Hillary Clinton being asleep during the now infamous Benghazi attack, was himself literally asleep during this doomed operation
