Trump's Pick To Replace Disgraced Gen. Flynn Turned Him Down Calling The Job A "Shit Sandwich"

During his  rambling, incoherent press conference today Trump made reference to the replacement for his former national security adviser Gen. Michael Flynn saying...

I have somebody that I think will be outstanding for the position.

That turned out to be what some might call "fake news."

That is due to the fact that Trump's pick to replace Flynn, who was fired by Trump on Monday for his conversations with a Russia’s ambassador, has rejected the offer after witnessing the aforementioned chaotic press conference this afternoon.

Retired Vice Admiral Robert Harward, a former deputy commander of U.S. Central Command, issued this statement after witnessing todays dumpster fire...

It’s purely a personal issue. I’m in a unique position finally after being in the military for 40 years to enjoy some personal time.

Two sources familiar with the decision said Harward turned down the job in part because he wanted to bring in his own team. This put him at odds with Trump who insisted that Deputy National Security Adviser K.T. McFarland, a former Fox News analyst, be allowed to stay on, and Harward refused to retain the former Fox News analyst and Flynn hire.

Harward, currently a senior executive at Lockheed Martin, also cited the apparent lack of organization within the Trump White House, according to the reporting of the Financial Times.

FT quoted an unidentified friend of Harward as saying...

[He] is conflicted between the call of duty and the obvious dysfunctionality,”

Another friend told CNN that the former SEAL referred to Trump's offer as a "s--- sandwich."

Another source told The Financial Times that Trump is still working to persuade Harward to take the position. He asked for him to return to the White House for another meeting, according to FT.

We have a feeling that after today's nutso presser performance I don't think Harward is in any hurry to take a bite of Trump's shit sandwich!
