A really bad one.
Today Donald Trump officially proclaimed April 2017 to be National Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month.
Trump, during the 2016 campaign, was publicly accused of sexual assault by more than 15 women and was caught on tape boasting he could grab women “by the pussy” without their consent.
Additionally Trump has still has not publicly or privately apologized to the women he assaulted. He instead threatened all the women who accused him with lawsuits after the election.
Hmmm, wonder whatever happened to that?
In 2009, President Obama became the first president to officially proclaim April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
In 2017 we have now ushered in a time where an accused serial sexual predator occupies the Oval Office who feels it is appropriate to issue the same proclamation.
In the statement Trump says without any self awareness...
“At the heart of our country is the emphatic belief that every person has unique and infinite value. We dedicate each April to raising awareness about sexual abuse and recommitting ourselves to fighting it. Women, children, and men have inherent dignity that should never be violated.”
Trump's 2017 proclamation has removed any references to military sexual assault and most strikingly leaves out almost all references to rape culture.
In President Obama’s 2016 statement he called on Americans to...
“stand up and speak out to change the culture that questions the actions of victims, rather than those of their attackers,”
There are no such allusions to a culture of victim-blaming in Trump’s 2017 statement.
I wonder why?

Only by enlisting the full potential of women in our society will we be truly able to #MakeAmericaGreatAgain🇺🇸https://t.co/ya5Ot30WNM pic.twitter.com/mhDlT2D0zI— President Trump (@POTUS) March 31, 2017
Yes ladies, applaud him.
Trump is currently facing a defamation suit filed by former “Apprentice” contestant Summer Zervos, who has accused Trump of kissing and groping her without her consent in 2007, a year after she had appeared on his reality TV show.
