TRUMP LOST HIS BATTLESHIP! Trump And His Administration Got Caught Lying About Sending An Aircraft Carrier To North Korea

On April 9 the Trump administration announced that it was sending an aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson and four accompanying support ships to the Korean peninsula as a show of force against North Koreas saber rattling. The ships, who were in the area to do military exercises near Australia according to the Trump administration, were diverting it in anticipation of a possible North Korean missile test.

The first news of the carrier being sent came from Reuters who reported on Saturday, April 8th that a U.S. official told them that...

"A U.S. Navy strike group will be moving toward the western Pacific Ocean near the Korean peninsula as a show of force as concerns grow about North Korea's advancing weapons program.

The Reuters report was then confirmed on Fox News by the National Security advisor H.R. McMaster who said...

"Well it's prudent to do it isn't it"

Two days later a reporter asked Press Secretary Sean "alternative facts" Spicer about the deployment of the ships to North Korea during a White House press briefing. Spicer replied...

"A carrier group is several things. The forward deployment is deterrence, presence. It’s prudent. But it does a lot of things. It ensures our — we have the strategic capabilities, and it gives the president options in the region,

Backing up Spicer's assertions was Defense Secretary Jim "mad-dog" Mattis who assured reporters later that day that the Carl Vinson was...

She's just on her way up there because that's where we though it was most prudent to have her.

One day later Donald Trump said, in an interview with FOX Business Network, that he was taking action after North Korea’s President Kim Jong-un threatened to nuke U.S. war ships...

We are sending an armada, very powerful. We have submarines, very powerful, far more powerful than the aircraft carrier. We have the best military people on Earth. And I will say this: he is doing the wrong thing.

Right wing pundits applauded the dispatching of the warships as evidence of Trump's muscular style after eight years of Presidents Obama's more measured approach.

Yeah, about that.

They were all lying

The Navy posted a picture taken April 15, one day before North Korea conducted a missile launch, showing the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson and four accompanying support ships in the Sunda Strait conducting military exercises near Australia... thousands of miles from North Korea.

In other words the ships were never headed towards Korea, they were never diverted from the exercises in Australia and the National Security Advisor, the Press Secretary, the Defense Secretary and Donald Trump all knowingly lied about it!

After being caught in the lie the Pentagon "corrected" the record, saying the ship's planned port visit to Fremantle, Australia, was canceled - not the exercise with Australia's navy and that it was ultimately a glitch-ridden sequence of events that caused the false narrative that a US armada was racing toward the waters off North Korea.

This story is just another glaring example that when anyone in this administration tells the media and ultimately the public ANYTHING we all should view it through a jaundiced eye and then verify the hell out of whatever they just said.
