Donald Trump thinks he invented the term "priming the pump" a couple of days ago.
In the interview Trump said...
“We have to prime the pump. Have you heard that expression used before? I haven't heard it ... I came up with it a couple of days ago and I thought it was good. It's what you have to do."
The problem Donald's assertion is that this saying has been around for over one hundred years!
Merriam-Webster traces the phrase itself to Sir Walter Scott in 1819 and even fact-checked the dummy after the story came out...
What make this story even more ironic is the fact that the phrase is most often associated with famed 20th century economist John Maynard Keynes, a giant in the field of economics and a favorite of arch liberals who favor massive government spending.
Aside from all that Trump's question doesn't make any sense. How could they have heard of the phrase if the idiot just came up with it?
Finally, Trump actually is on the record saying “priming the pump” 3 times back in a March interview with the New York Times Magazine and again in a December interview with Time!
Guess it just slipped what is left of his rapidly deteriorating mind.
