FIRE AND FURY: Trump Threatens Nuclear War With North Korea (VIDEO)

On Tuesday afternoon it was reported by US intelligence that North Korea is now able to produce a miniaturized nuclear warhead that could be delivered by an intercontinental ballistic missile.

FACT CHECK: This very same claim was made by the very same agency (the Defense Intelligence Agency) while it was under the leadership of Donald Trump's former National Security Advisor Gen. Michael Flynn in 2013 only to be proven false. * Make of that what you will.

Given that mistakes our intelligence agencies have made in the past about countries possessing weapons of mass destruction one might expect that world leaders would maintain a level head when dealing with this report.

One would be mistaken.

With his poll numbers in free fall and Robert Mueller's Russia investigation nipping at his heels Donald Trump realized that he had been given a gift and it was now time to utilize the "tough guy" act his supporters seem to get so very aroused by.

In a short statement, read partially from prepared notes, Trump put on his best mob boss impersonation and proceeded to issue this almost coherent threat to North Korea...

North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen. He has been very threatening, beyond a normal statement. And as I said, they will be met with fire, fury and frankly, power, the likes of which this world has never seen before.

Here is the video of our Dear Leader delivering his nonsensical broadside to Kim Jong Un...

So how well did Trump's "fire and fury" threat go over? Did his red line of "no more threats" from North Korea take?

Hours after his little song and dance North Korea announced via state sponsored media to destroy Guam in...

"An enveloping fire"

So yeah, that didn't work. Lil' Kim blew through that red line quicker than Trump through a bucket of KFC!

Here are some reactions to Trump's idiotic and dangerous statements...

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, criticized Trump’s rhetoric in an interview with KTAR-AM radio...

I take exception to the president’s comments because you’ve got to be able to do what you say you’re going to do. In other words, the old walk softly but carry a big stick, Teddy Roosevelt’s saying, which I think is something that should’ve applied because all it’s going to do is bring us closer to a serious confrontation,

John Mecklin, editor-in-chief of Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists...

That is about the stupidest and most dangerous statement I have ever heard an American president make,

Kingston Reif, director of disarmament and threat reduction policy for the Arms Control Association...

Trump’s statement is incredibly reckless and foolish,

Abraham Denmark, a former deputy assistant secretary of Defense for East Asia...

"This is why diplomacy requires more than a Twitter account and some bravado -- you need to have real experienced diplomats coordinating all these messages,"

Daryl Kimball, the head of the Washington-based Arms Control Association...

It is dangerous and reckless and counterproductive for Donald Trump to threaten the annihilation of North Korea,

Bruce Blair, Princeton nuclear safety expert...

"They are both impulsive, stubborn bullies who seem prone to escalate rather than back down,"

Nice going Dear Leader.
