Donald Trump apparently has no grasp on reality or at the very least possesses the ability to gaslight himself.
One of those two scenarios must be the case as Trump is now reportedly reviving his racist “birther” conspiracy theory, which claims that President Barack Obama wasn’t born in the United States.
According to The New York Times Donald Trump has been questioning Obama’s birth certificate in “closed-door conversations,” according to several sources.
The Times reported that one senator, who asked not to be named, "chuckled" as he explained...
"The president has had a hard time letting go of his claim that Mr. Obama was not born in the United States,"
Trump's first real foray into politics began back in 2011 when he spearheaded the birther movement that questioned the legitimacy of the nation’s first black president.
After years of clinging to the thoroughly debunked theory Trump dropped the issue toward the end of the presidential campaign last year and was forced to deny his claims in a televised press conference...
“President Barack Obama was born in the United States, period,”
He went on in his address to blame his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton for the conspiracy theory, a claim that was also thoroughly debunked.
For the record President Barack Obama was born in Hawaii on Aug. 4, 1961. Two Honolulu newspapers printed birth announcements at the time, and Obama has released both his “short-form” and “long-form” birth certificates.
