In a New York Times piece about Donald Trump's decision to endorse accused pedophile and Republican senate candidate Roy Moore it was revealed that he was now telling multiple people that the Access Hollywood tape (AKA: “Grab them by the pussy” tape) isn’t real.
Apparently, he told a senator earlier this year that the tape was "not authentic" saying...
“We don’t think that was my voice,"
According to three sources Trump had continued to suggest that the tape was a inauthentic to two of his advisors at some point after that.
If memory serves correctly it was in October after the tape dropped that Trump defended the recording as “locker room banter” and apologized “if anyone was offended,”.
Here is the video of the apology...
First of all it is anathema for Trump to apologize for anything let alone a tape which he believes wasn't real in the first place.
Perhaps Donald has convinced even himself that the whole incident never happened. They let you do that when your a star. You can do anything.
In any event I'm sure it has nothing to do with planting the seed of doubt about the tapes authenticity in his followers minds in this era of #MeToo where powerful men accused of sexual harassment are dropping like flies.
