Trump Has Jeff Sessions Revive Probe Of Hillary Clinton And The Uranium One Deal... Again ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Jeff Sessions has decided for some reason or another (*cough - Russia probe - *cough) to have his Justice Department revive an inquiry into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the government’s approval of the Uranium One deal on Thursday.

The once dormant FBI investigation into whether Clinton had ties to the deal had failed to find evidence of any wrongdoing on Clinton's behalf yet multiple law enforcement officials have reported that the Attorney General Jeff Sessions has in recent weeks directed prosecutors to ask FBI agents to re-examine evidence uncovered in the probe.

The Uranium One "scandal" centers around the sale of a Canadian mining company with major U.S. holdings, was sold in 2010 to a Russian firm.

Trump has long maintained that Hillary Clinton had criminally approved the sale and shipment of 20 percent of America's uranium to Russia in return for hundreds of million dollars in bribes.

The conspiracy theory fails apart when one realizes that the sale needed approval from nine U.S. agencies, other than the State Department that never actually had the power to approve or reject the deal and that Clinton was not directly involved in the approval process.

Nevertheless it looks as though following pressure from Donald Trump Sessions has opened an investigation into Clinton and Uranium One despite pledging at his confirmation hearing last year that he would recuse himself from any possible investigations involving Clinton.

Last month Sessions pledged to appoint a new special counsel to look the deal after Trump pressured him to do so to take the spotlight off of his formerNational Security Adviser Michael Flynn's guilty plea in Robert Muell's probe into the Trump-Russia scandal.

I guess things must be heating up again if they are once again flogging this thoroughly debunked dead horse.
