Five First Ladies Have Now Publicly Condemned Trump's Border Policy Of Separating Children From Their Parents

As of yesterday all four living first ladies -- Rosalynn Carter, Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush, Michelle Obama -- and the current first lady Melania Trump -- have condemned Donald Trump's horrific policy of separating children from their parents at the U.S./Mexico border.

Rosalynn Carter called the policy of separating families "disgraceful and a shame to our country,"...

Hillary Clinton, while speaking at a women's group in New York City on Monday, called family separation "an affront to our values"...

"The test of any nation is how we treat the most vulnerable among us. We are a better country than one that tears families apart,"

Laura Bush, who rarely spoke out on politics while she was in the White House, wrote about the inhumane policy in a Washington Post op-ed that contained this sentiment...

I live in a border state. I appreciate the need to enforce and protect our international boundaries, but this zero-tolerance policy is cruel. It is immoral. And it breaks my heart,”

Michelle Obama weighed in to support what Laura Bush had written...

And let's not forget the current first lady.

Melania Trump commented over the weekend on her husband's border policy in a statement released through her spokeswoman...

"Mrs. Trump hates to see children separated from their families and hopes both sides of the aisle can finally come together to achieve successful immigration reform. She believes we need to be a country that follows all laws, but also a country that governs with heart,"

When your own wife throws you under the bus it's time to call it a day.
