It is now being reported that Michael Flynn directly told Donald Trump and his transition team that he was under investigation weeks before the president moved into the White House.
This information flies in the face of every account that Trump and his White House has put forth to date as they have to a person denied any knowledge that Flynn was under investigation
The New York Times tonight reports that Flynn himself told the Trump camp that...
"he was under federal investigation for secretly working as a paid lobbyist for Turkey during the campaign"
The Times claims two people familiar with the Flynn case told the former national security adviser he was being investigated. Flynn then apparently informed Trump's chief lawyer, Donald McGahn, on January 4th.
Flynn, according to the newspaper, had another conversation with lawyers on the transition team two days later.
That Trump and his team had full knowledge that the FBI was investigating Flynn and still saw fit to appoint him Trump's national security advisor with access to highly classified information shows either an unconscionable lack of judgement on their part or that Flynn had a untoward hold over Trump... You can draw your own conclusion to what that hold may be.
