Umm, okay... Where to start?
Last Friday The Washington Post reported that the interference of the 2016 US elections could be directly linked to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The report also showed that though President Obama may have known this he chose to hold his hand close to the vest and not reveal the Russian hacking so as not to be perceived as trying to influence the election.
Over the weekend Donald pre-recorded several interviews with Fox News which aired on Sunday. In those interviews Trump decided to try a completely new talking point I doubt he truly worked it through in his mind.
Now remember that when it came to the Russian intervention into our elections Trump went through a plethora of excuses never admitting that it ever happened.
Here are just a few of his excuses...
• A hoax
Trump, who had completely written off the Russian interference into the elections, has now suddenly alluded to the Washington Post report claiming that then-President Obama knew about Russia's attempts to meddle in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and "did nothing about it"...
"Well I just heard today for the first time that Obama knew about Russia a long time before the election, and he did nothing about it. But nobody wants to talk about that. The CIA gave him information on Russia a long time before they even -- before the election. And I hardly see it. It's an amazing thing. To me -- in other words, the question is, if he had the information, why didn't he do something about it? He should have done something about it. But you don't read that. It's quite sad."
*FACT CHECK: President Obama did in fact take actions against Russia including, kicking 35 Russian diplomats out of the country, closing two Russian compounds and sanctioning nine Russian entities and individuals, planting "cyberbombs" in Russia’s technological infrastructure and warning Vladimir Putin to his face!
Trump however wasn't done with his new imbecilic talking point. This morning he continued his idiocy on the twitter...
So let's try to unpack this... In the simplest terms Trump is saying that President Obama knew about the Russia's "meddling" because he was "colluding or obstructing" with them so that Trump would win the election and now he owes Trump an apology because there was "no collision or obstruction" by "T people".
I don't know which is scarier... What Trump implied in his tweets or the claim that he just found out about the Russian "meddling" and believes that no one is talking about it.
