Trump Says He's "100 Percent" Willing to Testify Under Oath On Comey Allegations

This morning in the White House's Rose Garden Donald Trump took questions about yesterday's testimony given by former FBI director James Comey to the Senate Intelligence committee

Trump reiterated to the press gathered at the event that he "felt 100 percent vindicated" by Comey's testimony while in the same breath also calling him out as a liar.

After Trump rambled on for a while in semi-coherent half sentences reporter Jonathan Karl asked if, like James Comey, he was willing to testify under oath about allegations that he inappropriately pressured Comey to drop the FBI's investigation into his former National Security Adviser Gen. Michael Flynn.

Trump's answer was instantaneous and incoherent...

One-hundred percent, under oath. And it is a ... I hardly know the man I'm not going to say 'I want you to pledge allegiance'. Who would do that? Who would ask a man to pledge allegiance under oath? I mean think of it. I hardly know the man, it doesn't make sense.

Trump went on to say that he was willing to speak with Robert Mueller, the Justice Department special counsel now heading the investigation of the Russia case.

Trump's answer was also as predictable and it was laughable as we all knew he was going to say yes and we all know he will never do it.

If we have learned any thing from Trump's past promises it is that so very many of them turn out to be hollow threats.

Trump’s statement about testifying under oath has apparently given ammunition to Democrats and political opponents who have begun to press him to keep his word.
