REPORT: Trump "Personally Dictated" Donald Jr’s False Statement About Collusion With Russian Lawyer

Can you say consciousness of guilt?

Late Monday night the Washington Post reported that Donald Trump “personally dictated” Donald Trump Jr.’s misleading statement about a meeting between he and a Russian lawyer.

You'll remember that on July 11th the New York Times reported that Trump Jr. released an initial statement that the meeting with the Russian lawyer was primarily about "Russian adoption".

In the Post report it states that the original statement was crafted on Air Force One on the home to the U.S. from the Group of 20 summit in Germany on July 8 “at the president’s direction” and “signed off on” by him personally.

The statement Trump Jr. put out that day read...

It was a short introductory meeting. I asked Jared and Paul to stop by. We primarily discussed a program about the adoption of Russian children that was active and popular with American families years ago and was since ended by the Russian government, but it was not a campaign issue at the time and there was no follow up.“I was asked to attend the meeting by an acquaintance, but was not told the name of the person I would be meeting with beforehand.

Only days later it was revealed that this release was a complete lie as Donald Jr was forced to release emails showing that he had left out he took the meeting with the full knowledge that he would be receiving damaging information about Hillary Clinton. He left out the part that the info was illegally obtained by Russian intelliegence to help his father's chances to get elected. And he left out the part where it wasn't just him and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya in the meeting but also Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort, Veselnitskaya's translator Anatoli Samochornov, Rob Goldstone, Russian lobbyist Rinat Akhmetshin and money launderer Irakly "Ike" Kaveladze!

And now this shoe drops.

What makes it worse is the Post's revelation that initially Trump Jr’s team had planned to give a truthful account of the June 2016 meeting between Trump Jr. and Kremlin-linked lawyer.

But dear old dad nixed that idea.

Speaking of lawyers and Trump, as the story broke last night Donald Sr.'s lawyer John Dowd called the Post's report...

"Fake news, incorrect and misinformed of no consequence."

The lying never stops.
